Recommend It: Dominatrix Heroines

This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I don’t know if it will be a weekly feature but I might just make it one if it’s popular enough! So let me know if you love this feature. The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type.

Today, the feature is going to be for dominatrix heroines, or also known as “Female Dom”. These are heroines that are more dominant in the bedroom. These don’t necessarily means full BDSM though. It can be tending to take more control in the more intimate moments between a couple. I will be honest, these type of heroines are highly rare. I just don’t seem them very often. But when written well, they are highly amazing to read. I love seeing the reverse dynamics in seeing more of a alpha female in the story.

This was my first introduction into a more dominating heroine in a romance. This is where in the bedroom the heroines sometimes gets more dominant and wow it was awesome!

I absolutely adored this book and the heroine was so wonderful. This author handles the female dom aspect so well. This is where we see the heroine grow and adapt to the hero’s natural submission in the bedrrom. The character growth was fascinating.

This one was so delightful. I absolutely loved the full on BDSM dominatrix aspect that we see in this one here. You definitely will be charmed by this one here. I was nervous with it, but once I read it, I was enthralled by the power of KA in writing a dominatrix hero and a alpha sub hero (and yes its was HOT! ) haha Fair warning before reading it.

This was such a treat to read. The heroine in this one, at the beginning, doesn’t even know that she is a natural dominant. She discovers it pretty quickly with the hero and starts to really come into her own strength. Its very empowering to see this happen.

This is packed with a few novellas by this author. The novella “Partners in Persuasion” Features a dominant female with a hero that is a natural submissive. These dynamics are the best written by this author (and I would kill for a novel of this couple dynamic). She did so well in captivating this. LOVE IT.

This was an unexpected one where we see in the more sexy moments between these two, some situations where the heroine takes control in the bedroom and other scenarios and felt like it was so well done.

So tell me what do you love the most about Domniatrix Heroines in romances? Have you read any from my list here? What are some of your top favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

I haven’t read any of the books from your list and to be honest, I am not sure if I have read any books that would fall into this category but I do like it when a heroine isn’t afraid to say what she wants.

It’s true that we don’t see many female Doms in books Renee!

I can’t think of any particularly dominant heroines off the top of my head. But I do want to read that series by Sara Cate so I’m sure I’ll get to Mercy eventually.

I’ve read a few BDSM series with female doms and yes, the female dominants in Nalini Singh’s series are good, too. I think my first was Vampire Queen series by Joey Hill.
