He knows how to score, on and off the ice
Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.
It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over
Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.
There was quite a bit to admire about The Score. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to return to this series after reading The Deal, but Elle Kennedy handles this genre so well!! The story sets off when our heroine Allie, has recently broken off with her boyfriend. When her ex can’t let go, she is offered a place to stay with her friends apartment with a known player of the worst sort, hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis. Dean is the type of man that loves his scores of women at his disposal. But from the moment he shares one night of sexy with Allie, he wants her more than ever. But Allie doesn’t do casual anything,
What was most fun about The Score, was seeing how well these two got along with each other. They have some fun bantering moments that leaves you with a smile on your face. At the beginning, Allie is very resistent to Dean, and quite frankly Dean TOTALLY deserves it because he is one playboy. But we see how much he has to work for it, and the way that Allie puts him in his place. I really admired the way that this author wrote this story and it turned me upside down and sideways. I honestly couldn’t put this one down. The romance was tender and sweet at times and yet had moments of wild emotion and passion. Its a story you will fall in love with and cheer this couple on as they stumble their way on their HEA. The Score is a powerfully written romance with sensuality and vivid emotion.
I love love The Deal but The Mistake was just okay for me. So I’ve kind of been putting this one off, haha. Buuuut, I’m happy to hear that Dean has to work hard (aka. get his butt in gear) to win the girl! I do love the bromance between these guys so I’ll probably pick this one up soon, ha! Lovely review!
Nice quickie 🙂 I need t try her books one day
I’ve been hearing such great things about this book & I’m glad to hear you agreed with the hype! This will be going on my TBR quickly. 🙂
I’ve been meaning to try this series. I’ve got a similar one from Kristen Kallihan’s NA sports romance series. Guess I’ll read those first, but put these on my list. I like the idea of fun banter and even a playboy getting tamed. 🙂
Bah. I really need to read The Mistake. I think I have it but couldn’t get into it. Elle Kennedy is such a good author!
I’m glad you liked this! I liked it less than the other books in the series but it was still good. I loved all the banter too and of course, EK knows how to write heat really well!
Great review!
I LOVED the first book but not The Mistake so I haven’t gotten tot his one yet but Allie & Dean have had a vibe lol I didn’t even realize there was a 4th book too!

Sounds like I’d love this one!!
Yasssssss!!! I really liked this one so I’m glad to see that you did too. I loved how hard Dean had to work to get Allie. I also really liked that Allie knew casual sex wasn’t for her and really held her ground. She wasn’t being coy or judgmental, she just knew that wasn’t for her. And Dean? Freaking Dean, King of the one night stand imprinted on Allie. So freaking good!
That bath tub scene though with Winston?? I about died laughing and I loved how the guys never let Dean forget about that night. LOL.
I also really loved that it was Dean that Allie turned to for comfort. I loved that that was how everyone found out about them. Oh man, I really loved this one. Great review!
I have been wanting to try this series forever, ugh, not having enough time. Dean sounds like someone that can grow on you. I love that she makes him work for it
I’m happy to know this is such a good series and that this 3rd installment left you smiling, Renee. I have The Deal on my kindle and now you have me itching to read it! 😉
I loved The Deal! I bought The Mistake and The Score when they were each $0.99, so I have them but have not read them. I thought The Deal was really good so I almost don’t want to read the rest of the series, to preserve my positive opinions of the series overall! If that makes sense. 😀 I already know I won’t be reading The Goal, but I still might read The Mistake and this one. I love Elle Kennedy’s books, especially her adult ones!
Fantastic review. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I was surprised how much I ended up falling in love with Dean when I read this book. I also adored Allie and thought she was the perfect woman to keep Dean on his toes. Now…I need to read The Goal which I’ve heard is really good.
Great review! I LOVED the first book in this series but have been so hesitant to read the others and I don’t even know why! I own them all and I should just re-read the Deal and then read the rest!!
