How are we in December already and November over? I swear November was the fastest month of the year. But then November is one of my favorite months of the year and it always seems like the favorite months go by the fastest. Nothing huge happened in November other than Thanksgiving and some family time. I was able to get all of my end of year posts done, so that I can use the last month of the year to focus on reading. My reading in November was lacking haha but still pretty solid for the most part, just my last couple weeks I didn’t get quite as many as I expected so December I am going to have to go full speed for my reading.

Almost twenty years after the barrier between Earth and the Otherworld fell in the Fae Wars, Budapest is balancing on the precipice. A battle for dominance is brewing between the elite fae and the privileged humans in Eastern Europe. The prejudice between the sides is bubbling with hate and violence.
Nineteen-year-old human, Brexley, has grown up in privilege, but not without heartbreak. After being orphaned, she is taken in by General Markos, living in a walled city rife with power grabs and ruthless political games. Then one night the course of her life changes, and Brexley is thrown into the most feared prison in the east. Halalhaz, the House of Death—where you go in but don’t come out.
She must learn to live with the worst of fae and human criminals. The rule of hierarchy puts humans on the bottom, where the only way to survive each day is to make alliances with the fae.
Here she meets the sexy, vicious legend, Warwick Farkas. A myth among man and fae. He is as brutal, cruel, arrogant, and as lethal as the lore says he is, ruling the prison with unchallenged authority. Brexley can’t deny an intense draw to him, one that might cost her life.
If The Games don’t take her out first—A fight to the death where only one survives.
This book was EPIC! If you love Urban Fantasy with strong romantic elements, with a darker edge, then you definitely need to grab these books up. Also, the whole series is on kindle unlimited which is a great deal. I will say that these books are intense but addictive! Savage Lands is a dystopian type of urban setting, with fae and set in Budapest! I mean when was the last time you read a book set there? It’s so unique and different.
After two years of alien captivity, Evie is free, but her captors have changed her. Now struggling to control a terrifying new power, her only hope is one formidable, dangerous alien king.
Logistics manager Evie Mason is no longer a prisoner on an alien space station, but she’s far from Earth, suffering nightmares, and fighting to ignore the growing power inside her. She just wants to be normal, but when she comes face to face with the intoxicating ruler of the planet Taln, normal isn’t an option. He speaks to the power inside her, and ignites a fierce desire she’s never felt before.
Conqueror Graylan Taln Sarkany is the king of Taln and its people, who can control the geological forces of their planet. He’s dedicated to protecting Talnians from his evil father and uses his immense power to command the rocks, soil, and earthquakes. But Gray must always keep a part of his power leashed. The part that’s too volatile, too enormous, too dangerous. Then one small, tough woman from Earth threatens all his control.
As a final, violent showdown with Graylan’s father draws closer, Gray and Evie are swept into a whirlwind of power and passion, their powers connecting them in ways neither of them understand. With Gray’s brothers, their mates, and allies by their side, they will fight, and Gray will unleash everything he has to protect his planet, his people, and Evie.
This sci-fi romance was OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was just packed with everything that I love. An emotionally tortured heroine, a royal protective hero, an enemy out to destroy them, and magical abilities on a planet in a galaxy far far away! If you are a fan of sci-fi romance, then you will need this series in your life, and they are super addictive.
Cultures clash and passion ignites in the novel that will leave you begging for more—from the bestselling author of The Affair and Looking Inside.
There’s something about this woman…
On a break between overseas jobs, journalist Asher Gaites returns to his hometown of Chicago—and allows his friends to persuade him to check out a hot new singer. At a downtown jazz club, he’s soon transfixed by the lyrical voice and sensuous body of a woman who performs behind a thin, shimmering veil…
…That could bring a man to his knees.
The veil gives Moroccan American Laila Barek the anonymity she needs since she has never been able to reconcile her family’s values with her passion for music. But one man is inexplicably drawn to her. And when Asher confronts her on a subway platform after a gig, he’s shocked to recognize the woman who walked away from him nine years ago…
Laila has never been able to forget the touch, the feel, the taste of Asher. And despite the doubt and fear that wind their way into their lives, they must trust the heat of their desire to burn down the walls the world has placed between them…
MATURE AUDIENCE
Behind The Curtain was such a strong sensual romance that was diverse and beautifully penned! I just couldn’t put this one down, and such a riveting emotional read that had so much heart in it. If you are looking for a sexy strong read with lots of plot and relationship-building, then you definitely need to try this one out!
Honorable Mentions
I wish I could express how much I adored all of these books and could have added them also in my top favorite and they are really all over the genres here. Definitely most swoony worthy reads that I can’t recommend enough if you haven’t read them!
Thanks for the recommendation for Savage Lands… I do love darker UFs with romance. I’m adding the series to my TBR list.
I agree, the end of the year always seems to fly by. I think, like you said, it’s a great month, plus generally I am so busy, that the months of November and December just whiz by.
What a great month! I can’t believe how fast this past month went and the year as well.
You had a fantastic reading month and it sounds like you were able to get a lot done. I am supposed to get a few months of Kindle Unlimited when I get my Kindle Scribe next week so I will have to check out Savage Lands. Have a great December!
Wow! I cannot believe you have all your year end posts done. I only put them on the calendar. I have nothing actually done. Good on you!
I need to be eating/drinking whatever you are so I can get so much accomplished 😀
I’ll be reading Conqueror by Anna Hackett in the next few days and it’s all your fault lol
I hope you find only the best reads!! xoxo
