March has been a wild month y’all and I don’t even know what really happened and my reading and blogging I really struggled, so for that, I do apologize that I wasn’t present as much as normal. March was a rough month for me in some respects. My health went downhill as I ended up in the ER and had a high blood pressure attack, and I am not still not fully recovered, ( although I am back to reading and blogging so it’s improving) but I do think I need to tweak my exercise and food habits because the meds only do so much I think. So my plan moving forward is to do 30 minutes of exercise every day and really simplify what I eat and go very basic with lean meats, healthy grains and veggies and some fruits. But this month I will tell you was so rough, I had planned on 50 books and I had some fun plans for the blog and bookstagram, and yep that didn’t happen. Especially the first two weeks of March I was reading like maybe one book a week (anyone that knows me knows that I am the type of reader that tends to read a book a day) and I got a little depressed due to it all because for those that have never suffered from high blood pressure, it can be painful and you can’t focus on anything, little appetite and just zero motivation. however, the last couple weeks of March was an improvement for me. We had some fun things happen in the romancelandia and yay for zero drama (as we had a ton in February). But we had the season 2 of Bridgerton release, and for Outlander fans the new season started so I hope y’all are loving that one, then we had part two of Gabriel’s Rapture was released and also got the reveal of who is acting in the upcoming movie adaptation of “This Man” (and yes he is just perfect

Bennett Sharp is on the run.
Wanted for piracy, she fears neither God nor death nor man.
Except Priest Farrell.
The unfaithful, stormy-eyed libertine hunts her with terrifying possessiveness. Nothing will stop him from coming for her. Not his unforgivable betrayal. Not when she’s captured by the ice-cold pirate hunter, Lord Ashley Cutler.
She must escape Ashley’s prison and Priest’s deceit. But can she walk away from their twisted desires?
Two gorgeous captains stand on opposite sides of the law. When they collide in a battle to protect her, the lines blur between enemies and lovers.
Passion heats, secrets unravel, and hearts entangle until they break.
Can love prevail in the sea of ruin?
There was something so different about this one, I am not sure why its so hyped to be completely honest. It actually shocks me how much this is so loved by certain content creators because it doesn’t seem like something that would work, however, there are so many deep layers to this one, and is such an authentic pirate historical. Most pirate historicals I have read are a bit lighter than I think they should be. What Pam Godwin creates in this one is a masterpiece of pirate authenticity. And the COVER ….yep I will be buying this in print because it’s too gorgeous not to ( in fact I just ordered it via Amazon).
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh takes us into the hearts of two fractured people in a world on the brink of a psychic Armageddon . . .
Silence has fallen. The Psy are free to feel emotion. Free to love. But Silence was never a prison for Ivan Mercant. The biggest threat to his future lies dormant in his brain—a psychic monster that wants only to feed. And now, the brutal leash he’s kept on that monster is slipping. He prepared for this day, for the end of Ivan Mercant . . . but that was before he met Lei.
As primal as she is human, this wild changeling brings color into his life, laughter to his soul. Then the dream shatters in a rain of blood, in silent bodies in the snow. Lei is gone. Vanished without a trace . . . until he meets strangely familiar eyes across a busy San Francisco street.
Soleil Bijoux Garcia is a healer who has lost everything. She exists in a world of desolate aloneness . . . till the day she finds herself face-to-face with a lethal stranger. The animal who is her other half knows this man, but her memories are tattered fragments. Sorrow and a need for vengeance are all that drive her. Her mission? To kill the alpha of the DarkRiver leopard pack.
But fate has other plans. Soon, a deadly soldier who believes himself a monster and a broken healer might be all that stand between life and death for the entire Psy race. . .
This was such a beautiful edition into this series, and I absolutely adored where this one went and it was such an unexpected book. The way the plot goes, was NOT what I was expecting from this author and I love that she keeps me on my toes. And so many fun times with the Dark River pack too. Many fun family elements with both the changelings and the psy as well, so you all are in fora treat and I was so lucky that Berkley gave me a ARC.
Brenna
There are some people in life who know exactly how to push your buttons. For me, it’s Rye Peterson. We can’t spend more than ten minutes together before we’re at each other’s throats, which makes working together that much harder. Rye is the bassist for Kill John, the biggest rock band in the world, and I am his publicist. It doesn’t help that the man is gorgeous, funny, talented, and…never takes anything seriously. Avoidance is key.
But everything changes when he overhears something he shouldn’t: a confession made in a moment of weakness. Now the man I’ve tried so hard to ignore is offering me the greatest temptation of all—him.
Rye
Brenna James is the one. The one I can’t have. The one I can’t get out of my mind. Believe me, I’ve tried; the woman loathes me. I managed well enough—until I heard her say she’s as lonely as I am. That she needed to be touched, held, satisfied. And I could no longer deny the truth: I wanted to be the one to give her what she craved.
I convinced her that it would just be sex, mutual satisfaction with nothing deeper. But the moment I have her, she becomes my world. I’ve never given her a good reason to trust me before. Now, I’ve got to show Brenna that we’re so much better together than we ever were apart.
Things are going to get messy. But getting messy with Brenna is what I do best.
This book was such a winner for me, and the audio narration was superb and if you love audiobooks then you definitely need to pick up this series, very well done. I just love the bond between these band members and this romance just worked for me even though these aren’t my favorite tropes, there were just so many heart feelin’ moments.
I hope the medication and lifestyle changes will help.
I still need to watch the second season of Bridgerton.
Take care of you. I hope you are feeling better and can get into a routine that works for you. You were going to read 50 books in one month? That’s amazing.
Hope you get your blood pressure under control! Sounds like you have a good plan for your health. It’s so important! Looks like you read quite a few books even with not meeting your goals and had a few standouts. I want to watch Gabriel’s Rapture at some point. When this move is over! 🙂
So sorry to hear last month was a rough one. Glad you’re feeling a little more like yourself…hopefully April will be much better for your health and reading! I’m happy you enjoyed Storm Echo. Can’t wait to read it! Looking forward to upcoming Passionflix movies too. My top reads in March were The Wedding Veil by Kristy Woodson Harvey and Lover Arisen by J. R. Ward.
oh you are so sweet darling! Yes I am crossing fingers April will be a much better month too. You will LOVE Storm Echo, I guarantee it! I really need to get caught up on J.R. Ward, she is a powerhouse of an author
I really hope that your health continues to improve. Feeling bad isn’t fun at all. As to Outlander, yes, I am enjoying it greatly lol
I am thrilled to know that Outlander has worked so well for you here.
Yeah, you had some rough days this past month and hopefully the new health and nutrition regime will augment your meds for that. Glad you enjoyed the big show releases and more books toward the end of the month. I had a few of my most anticipated reads this month and loved getting some good walks and garden prep in.
Have a good April, Renee!
I am so sorry to hear that you were not feeling good for much of the month. I hope that the changes you are making will have a positive impact. I hope that you are having a great April.
