I just felt I should share this!! I can’t believe they have been around for ten years….so amazing. I have only been a member of LibraryThing for about for five years, but I really love this site. Many people compare LibraryThing to Goodreads. But in all honesty, they are so different from each other in unique ways. One of my favorite things about LibraryThing….is its a database of books. That’s the way it was built and is still that way. There is some social interaction, but it’s not the primary function. If I want more detail on a book, I go to LibraryThing, because more than likely I will find what I need. It has over 99 million books in their catalog and what you don’t see you can add if need be. I am not on LibraryThing as much as I used to be, but I am hoping to change that soon. Do any of you use LibraryThing? What do you think of it?
Week 1 of February Releases of 2024
There are some great goodies that are available to us this week and I am so excited for some of these and to pick some of them up here. If you are a romance reader, it’s definitely a treat this week! Now keep in mind I normally don’t include all the illustrated...
I’ve never tried Library Thing, I always used goodreads and firgured one social book site is more than enough as many of them are similiar. It does sound like library thing is a bit different, so that’s a good thing.
I’ve heard about it a couple of times, but I had already established shelves, reviews, and stuff at GoodReads so figured I wouldn’t have time for both. But as a way to get more details about books, that sounds like a good thing. Thanks for explaining, Renee, and Happy 10th, Library Thing!
I can understand that, I was with Librarything around the same time I was starting out with Goodreads, so I used both at the same time. If I had starrted LT now, it would be way more time consuming. My shelves are so big now. hehe Thanks for stopping by.
I am a member, but find it difficult to navigate. I really should just log on and explore it more.
Yeah I felt the same way at the beginning, but then I started to explore it more, and there are some aspects of it I like more.
I’ve never used it, I’m pretty happy with goodreads. I mostly use GR as a database with only a little socializing. I might poke around LT and check it out.
I use GR the same way too. I don’t socialize as much as I used to. I do need to use GR more than I do.
I have never heard of it. I went and took a tour of the site and while it looks good, I am already on GR which is currently good enough for me.
I can understand that. Goodreads is such a fantastic site. But its always fun to look at other resources.
