There is so much that I love about a good ending, and I feel it is VERY vital to a romance or to any good book or great story. In fact I always look forward to see how an author will handle the finishing touches to a love story. These endings can happen in a variety of ways. What I enjoy most is seeing a couple together in some sweet, tender, poignant moments that burn in your memory. At times they can be amusing, at others you just want to cry because the moments are so romantic and tender and other times its a perfect conclusion. I love seeing a happy ending happen, its one of the main reasons I read romances. Is because I love seeing a couple get their happily ever after (which is definitely possible). Below I will share some of my top picks of the various styles of endings in romance.
I love how you organized these without giving away anything of the ending, Renee! (Also, awesome choices.)
I love your lists π
I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t read one of these books!!!!! How terrible is that! I tend to favor a more amusing witty ending, but I favor those books in general, so that’s not so surprising.
Love this post. I often wonder how a author will end her book. I can’t say that I only like one type of ending, I like verity.
I want..well HAPPY π
I love discovering these insights every week — such a great organization of endings!!
I like a variety of ending types, but what I really must have is a true denouement and not just a quick rush job after the big scene especially in a hard fought romance. I like to see a couple at easy and all’s right in their world and a clear direction of their future. You’ve got some really good examples up their. π
Oh Mad Lord Ian, I will get to your book someday…
I do love an Epilogue and seeing the couple together after they married, especially if they have a family. It can either be romantic or funny, I don’t mind.
So many books for me to read. I like different types of endings as long as it’s satisfying and fits the story.
I love so many of these! I like how you divided it into the different moods they leave you with.
I don’t know if I’ve said it yet or not but my favorite thing about these posts is the long list of HR’s you’re putting on my tbr! π The only one on today’s list I’ve read is Highlander Most Wanted. *sigh* Love that story! π
