Elite of Atmospheric Reads of 2022

by | Dec 22, 2022 | End of Year Survey | 9 comments

Welcome to another feature with the Elite Romance of 2022. Elite Romance is a yearly feature that I run on this blog, that showcases all of our favorite reads for the year. This is a feature that I look forward to each and every year! Its such a blast to put together and reflect on past year for my reading and what made the most impression.

Today our topic is the BEST Atmospheric romances that I read this year. I actually was able to pick up some fantastic reads that just had the perfect atmospheric vibe to it. So let me show you the books that made the biggest impression for me and tell me all of your FAVORITES for this too!

This is the best work from this author, also its super atmospheric and dark and gritty. So I can’t recommend it enough to those that enjoy dark romance and grittier reads.

There is such a rich world building that is built within this story and it was so so fascinating. Tiffany Roberts do a brilliant job with this one.

If you love Grace Draven, and Beauty and Beast retellings, then this needs to be a book for you. I adored how the author handled her world building, this is the one aspect that is so strong in all of her books.

The way that the pack dynamics are written in this one is so wonderful. Its like that feeling of “coming home” when you pick up a changeling book from this author. I just love the charm and connection.

I just LOVED this book and one of my favorite things about this author is how atmospheric feeling her books are. She just cultivates the setting to come alive for the reader!

RaeAnne Thayne writes the best settings and most especially this book just had such a bright and summery feel to the story!

Tillie Cole has such beautiful talent in how well she portrays her books that just makes her gritty worlds come alive for the reader. I love how rich she did this one especially with the British setting.

This book is set in Scotland, and is so rich and captivating in how she builds the surroundings and culture of the Scots. Just LOVED it!

These books are the 1920’s and has such a gothic like feel to these books. I was so impressed with how well these books just came alive. The author just delivered on the spooky vibe so well.

P.C. Cast is such a great author but most especially in the way the setting is delivered. It just felt so authentic and breathtaking.

If you love gothic romance with a more sensual twist, then this book is so for you! The way the details just are mixed in so well with the story,

Out of all the gothic romances I have ever read, this book is the MOST atmospheric book that I have ever ever read! It was superb in every way. I just loved all the detail and how I could practically feel the shivers on my skin that this book delivered!

I like the atmosphere these books give off, and some are by authors I have already tried! Should I add some to my list? I think we both know the answer 😉

The Simple Wild and Summer at the Cape were two I enjoyed as well. And Jenn Bennett is an all around favorite for me.
