Elite Hidden Gems of 2021

by | Dec 18, 2021 | End of Year Survey | 3 comments

Welcome to the next segment of the Elite Romance series of 2021.  This post is where I am going to list my TOP reads of the year, which wasn’t easy to narrow down. I have had a decent reading year and I am thrilled to be able to share all the delicious reads that I have here.

For this segment, I am going to share all the hidden gems that I have discovered over the past year. These are the books that I never expected to be so good and ended up being so superb in my reading of them.

I will be honest, I didn’t expect to like this one. Bully type of romances and the high level of angst that is implemented into this one here is something that doesn’t always work for me. So I was so delighted to see that this book ended up being one of my favorites, especially after that ending….WOWZA!!!

I know I know…..its Kristen Ashley! But this trilogy is rarely ever talked about from what I have seen so I was expecting it to be average but never realized that this book and the whole trilogy would blow my heart out of the water.

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did. I should have known as it’s a Nikki Sloane and she is such a talented writer. But this book had so much HEART and FEELS.

I will be honest before I had read this book I had lost faith in this author a bit. In the first book in the series, I was forced to DNF and it was pretty early on in the book. So I didn’t expect to love this one as I did. It was far from perfect, but it had some great delights including a swoon-worthy kiss in the rain that will curl your toes.

I really thought that this author was overhyped by a large margin, and honestly teacher-student books hardly ever work for me BUT this book I was in love with from the very beginning. I loved everything about this one here.

This book completely bowled me over. The first book in the series was REALLY overwhelming and I struggled with it as there was an information overload. And I was worried that this book would be like the first installment, however, it definitely wasn’t. One of the best PNR/Fantasy books I have read in a long while and I don’t understand why this author isn’t read more.

Regally Bitten was such a rockstar of a romance and I couldn’t seem to get enough of it. There was so much intensity, drama, and suspense that just satisfied me in every way.

This book here was sexy and sassy and packed with vulnerabilities from the character and I loved every moment. Apparently, I need to read more of this author’s work. But I will admit many of her covers that are non-contemporary throw me off. But this book was so beautiful in so many ways.

I know I have talked about this book already but I knew I had to share it on this post as well since it became a hidden gem for me. There is such deep complexity that is packed within this one that is powerful and awe-inspiring.

This was a book I wasn’t expecting to love as I did. I think in this one here, I wasn’t expecting to love it as it has many mixed reviews. But I loved it so much, and was such a heart stopper.

.This is such a story that blew my heart away and I never realized what I was getting into reading this one here. Everything about this book I felt was PURE PERFECTION. So many love this author so I didn’t expect to love it like I did. But it was such a beautiful romance.

What a wondrous this book turned out to be (IGNORE THE COVER) I know its weird. But the story is GOLD. This features a BDSM romance, but it features a friends to lovers, and is such a sweet BDSM romance. There is smexy times, but so much heart and feels in this one seeing two people embracing the best parts of themselves.

I have read quite a few of Van Dyken’s older books. I am not much for mafia romances, though, that’s awesome that you loved it

Neat when a book comes from out of nowhere to be a fab read. I’ve heard good stuff about the spicy Pam Goodwin books.

The only one I’ve read is Untouchable by Sam Mariano. Some of it disturbed me, but it was so addictive!
