The final book in a romance series set in a “fun, sexy world” (USA TODAY), where paranormals seek love through a dating service called Midnight Liaisons.
Ryder is hiding a dark secret from her coworkers at Midnight Liaisons. Every time she’s sexually attracted to a man, her dragon side breaks through. Not exactly man-bait! But she needs to lose her virginity before her twenty-fifth birthday, or she’ll become a dragon forever.
Her solution? Big, hunky Hugh, the appointed guardian of her chastity. He’s clearly hot for her, but he has powerful reasons to resist Ryder. Can temptation—and love—possibly find a way?

My Review

In Wanted: Wild Thing we have a story that continues the series of Midnight Liasons. Now this is a series I fell in love with years ago when the first book came out and I love each story of this series and Jessica Sims AKA Jessica Clare and Jill Myles. Jessica Sims is her PNR name and I love how fresh these books are. Each story we see more into this fabulous series and in Wanted: Wild Thing we see something new happen. We have a new set of paranormal creatures come into play here, ones we haven’t seen yet. Our heroine, is a “changeling” she works at the Midnight Liasons setting up matches between paranormal creatures such as vampires, sirens, and shifters. But she has a secret she has kept from her closest friends, she is a changeling–she is coming upon her 25th birthday, she is still a virgin and not because she wants it. Whenever she gets aroused, her beast from within comes out to play. But she was told from a seer that if she can find her true mate, she won’t transform and once she loses her virginity she can be her normal self. But then a Fae comes in claiming she is his “pet” to do with as he wishes. He brings her a bodyguard, and within a month her transformation will be complete but her bodyguard has to stay by her side at all time. This put a serious kink into her plans. Then we have our hero, Hugh. A big hunky male that is all toughness and muscles. He has never been in the human world before, his kind lives in a fae realm. He has never been around women, and is out of his element when it comes to flirty females.

Now this was a story that was so entertaining. I was able to snatch it up from my library’s audiobook system: Hoopla. I want to talk about the narration for a bit. Now I think in the past I have been extremely lucky to have found narrators that I instantly fell in love with. But I will be honest this narrator threw me off for a bit and I had trouble at first adjusting. But eventually she grew on me. I think the southern accent is what threw me off. But after a little while, I grew accustomed to it. What is most fun about this story was seeing the conflict between these two. I loved that they were both virgins (that hardly EVER happens in romances especially in paranormals and contemporary type settings!!) And boy did I love that aspect. Because its orginial and felt fresh and new. This really adds something different to the story because we see how these two really struggle with the chemistry they feel for each other. We see both sides on the conflict. Because Rhyder, wants to be free of her creature, she doesn’t want to be a kept pet by the fae and be breeded all of her existence. She wants love and freedom. The only way to have that is to have sex and there is only one person that has seen her true form and accepted her fully. The only problem is he can’t touch her. The fae has promised that if Rhyder comes into full bloom of her changeling form, than Hugh and his primordial’s (all 24) will be given their mates. None of them have ever known family, love or passion. They just know stark loneliness and living a empty life. He is the leader of must think of his people first.

What was most heartbreaking was seeing these two together and how much they truly cared about one another but both were in a tough spot. This conflict is what drives the story and I couldn’t help but fall in love with every aspect of this story. I love the way these two are with each other. Having both of them as virgins, is something that I loved the most about this book. I like that they learn each other on the same level, both have zero experience but they both are passionate and it was quite fun to see the way they come together. This is a PNR that is sweet, fun and highly entertaining. Packed with emotional depth, endearing characters, and a story line to keep you going. Nothing held back in Wanted: Wild Thing. I am eager to see if Sims does more with these Primordial males because dang they sure are sexy and I want more of them.

About Jessica Sims

Jessica Sims lives in Texas. She hates writing a bio, so something cool will undoubtedly go here later when she actually thinks of something interesting to write. She has some cats, but what writer doesn’t? She plays video games and confesses to reading comic books. And she likes writing, but that one was pretty obvious.

Callie Brewster didn’t figure she’d ever see Finn O’Donnell again when they parted company in Afghanistan. But when her little brother witnesses a killing, everything changes. Now there’s a woman in the house who joined the army to get away from ranching, a boy who is scared of his shadow, and a feud going on amongst the other ranchers. Yet in the midst of all the chaos, Finn is happier and more at peace than he’s ever been before…

My Review

Cowboy Boots For Christmas is the first of the Burnt Boot Texas series. This is a series that involves a family feud. This book sets up in a way that we begin to see the drama that resides between these two families. Callie and Finn oncce worked together in the military, and became the closest of friends, but the timing wasn’t right for them to pursue their relationship romantically. Now Callie is the legal guardian of her nephew and has come to Finn for a safe haven until her nephew can testify in a crime he witnesses. Callie has always despised ranches and cowboys, but Finn is a man she has always loved. Both Finn and Callie begin to reconnect with each other, and we see the affectioin and friendship that has always resided between them both. Then we see the chemistry build and loved seeing them work through past issues.

This is a romance that is slow building and has some added elements that made me love it even more. We have a dog, some baby puppies, a crazy parrot that has watched too many crime movies, a adorable little boy and his endeavor to save his three friends in foster care who are about to be seperated and thrown back in the system unless something can be done for them. Then we have a old lady that once owned the spread that Finn bought, and wants to be a “grandmother”. A crazy feud interferring with the romance between Finn and Callie and some interesting flair of dramatics makes for quite a fun and sexy read with a Christmas tone to the story that has me so ready for the holidays!! By the end I wanted to start listening to some christmas tunes and setting up the lights.

There were some portions of the story that felt a bit slow at times, but overall it was a romance that was enjoyable and sweet with a small town feel to it. Perfect for a comfort read on a cold winters night.

About Carolyn Brown

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carolyn Brown was born in Texas and raised in southern Oklahoma. These days she and her husband make their home in Davis, Oklahoma, a small town of less than three thousand people where everyone knows everyone, knows what they are doing and with whom, and read the weekly newspaper to see who got caught.

A plaque hangs on her office wall that says I know the voices are not real but they have such great ideas. That is her motto and muse as she goes through the days with quirky characters in her head, telling their stories, one by one, and loving her job.

She has been married almost half a century to a retired English teacher that she calls Mr. B and he does not read her books before they are published because she cannot afford a divorce. They have three grown children.—and enough grandchildren to keep them busy and young.

When Carolyn is not writing she likes to sit in the back yard and watch the two tom cats protect the yard from all kinds of wicked varmints like crickets, other cats, spiders and blue jays.

I need to try the Midnight Liasons series. I love the idea behind it.

Love Carolyn’s books and am due to read another one since its been a while. The feud is so over the top and hilarious. I love the cute kids and animals stuff in this one, but agreed, it had draggy spots. I still need to grab the last one.

oh I would highly recommend the Liasons series…its pretty fantastic. I really like how Brown has the feud to be more fun and crazy. Other feud stories I have read have been more serious, so its refreshing to have one that isn’t too serious.
