Plot and Story Line

Oh, my GOODNESS!!! Why have I waited so long to read this series *banging head against the wall* simply phenomenal and I read this so fast I could barely see straight. So dang good and boy did it pack a punch. Now I have read this author before, and even though I adore her Dark Protectors…these brothers…whew they are dang sexy, each and every one of them. This is Shane’s story, he is the third brother. What we have here is four brothers, that were genetically altered, due to a military experiment, and they were raised in a military compound. Being taught to fight and to kill. But they have a motto “Never Alone”, they stand together, fight together, and if necessary will die together. They have protected each other and will not give up on each other. The bonds that these brothers have to each other is so fantastic, they don’t know what a family is, but you see they bond even though out of all the boys from the military training facility, they are the only brothers that stand together and love each other. Shane here is suffering from amnesia, which is not a good thing, considering that the brothers are being hunted by their enemy and the man that raised them, and trained them to kill. Shane married Janie because he fell in love and thought that he could protect her. But when he learns that his youngest brother has been killed, he is forced to leave Janie. What was most admirable about this book was seeing the sparks fly between Shane and Janie.

“I may not know myself right now, sweetheart. But I know I wouldn’t have let you go.” No way was he that fucking stupid

They definitely have no trouble in the sex department, and boy these two have quite the sensual explosion.

“We are married.”
“We’re about to get divorced.”…
“No.” He licked up her ear to bite the shell.
She shivered in response. “Yes.”
“Nope.” His palm spread out across her bare midriff. “I may have screwed up, and we’ll find out why, but I won’t hurt you again. You’re mine, angel. The only thing in life that matters.”

From the very beginning of the story, there is quite a mystery surrounding Shane, and you sense how much Janie is trying to work through her feelings for Shane. Janie is such a lovely heroine, I quite adored her because she stood on her own, fighting for what she believed in and didn’t back down. She had spine and heart and loved that quality to her character. Also what I found most endearing about her character, was how she treats the brothers. She has never had a true family, but she treats them as her own brothers and that just made me love her character even more. The danger sense increases with each chapter, and boy it never ended, and I LOVED every single moment of this book. I just couldn’t put it down. And boy there were quite a few shocks that totally changed everything and threw me off. Unpredictable and packed with plenty of action and intensity. Literally this is one of the best reads all year!!! Rebecca Zanetti has done it again, created a thrilling and edgy fast paced romance that will have you at the edge of your seats.

The Cover

First thing I noticed about this cover…is the eyes. We have a golden them to the cover, and then those vivid blue eyes, what a contrast and really draws the eye. Love the stance of confidence and sexy appeal.

Overall View

Forgotten Sins is a book that will capture your attention from the first chapter….a sexy romance that has edge and mystery with plenty of sensuality and a reconnecting of two hearts.

“I love you angel.”
The words were soft.
The tone possessive.
The promise absolute.

My Review

Summary

Matt Dean, is the oldest of the four brothers, and has always led and protected his brothers for as long as he can remember. Matt will do anything to save his brothers, and time is ticking. Each of them has chips in their backs, and if they don’t get access to the correct codes, they will all die within six weeks. He has come to Charmed, Idaho to find a woman that is behind the making of the chips, but he will need to find her and extract any information he can gain. Recovering from a knife wound, he is stumbled on by Laney Jacobs, a sweet bar owner that takes him in. In exchange for working as a bouncer, he will get a room to stay in. It is the perfect cover for Matt, and he knows that he needs to draw out the woman who is hiding. Laney is running from her past, and even though she knows it can’t last, she is enjoying the life she has made in Charmed. The last thing she needs is to get into a relationship with this dangerous man, but there is something about Matt that calls him to her, and she can’t resist his sensual kisses or the opening of her heart to him. But there are multiple dangers and secrets that will change everything for Matt and Laney, will the love they have be strong enough?

Plot and Story Line

After reading the first book, I thought that nothing could get better than the first book, but boy was I wrong. Sweet Revenge was just as good or even better than Forgotten Sins. After seeing the bonds between these brothers, I was super excited for Matt’s story. Matt is the oldest brother, and I loved how protective he is of them. We also see how much losing his baby brother is tearing him apart inside. Matt as the oldest, feels responsible, and refuses to lose the brothers he has left.

“I’ve lost everyone I’ve ever cared about, and I’ve never loved somebody like this. I can’t lose it, and I won’t lose you … This has nothing to do with equal rights or trust. This is life, and you’re mine.”

We see instant sparks between Matt and Lanie. Even though Lanie doesn’t trust Matt, she softens toward him and even though they are sexually explosive together, the relationship is so tender and sweet at times.

“I love completely, Laney, and I’m sure it’s a pain in the ass … You have my heart and always will.”

I just couldn’t get enough of these two and it was interesting seeing how strong their bond to each other develops. But there is one secret that totally blew me away…well multiple secrets, but I can tell you without revealing too much, that this secret I DID NOT see coming. This story just gets more and more intense, the suspense builds with each chapter you read. And boy was it intense, both the plot and the romance between Matt and Laney. Matt is quite the alpha male, likes being in control over a situation, is a one woman man, posseisve and sexy as hell. Lanie is spirted and courageous and a fighter. What a backbone she has, and she is quite the match for Matt here. What we also have is the reveal of certain side characters that aren’t what they seem. And I thought I was suprised in Forgotten Sins…but oh boy, Sweet Revenge beats Forgotten Sins on the surprises and shocks and those unique twists that build the story even more. I find myself just soaking up every moment and intense scene that Sweet Revenge gives us. This is a story that is intense, poignantly romantic and action packed that builds. I just can’t get enough…now onto the third book. I am practically addicted, I have a feeling I am going to have to read all four books because boy there is nothing better than a story that packs a punch like Sweet Revenge does.

The Cover

I LOVE this cover, and boy sexy as sin right? I love the danger feel to it, with the scruff on his face (I love light scruffiness)

Overall View

A stunning and action-packed romance that will shake the ground beneath your feet and shock you to the core. A thrilling tale of deceit, danger, and a love to fight for!! STUNNING!!

About Rebecca Zanetti

his theme of romance has been carried through Rebecca’s works until present time. While today’s heroine may have a medical degree, black belt in Karate and her own 401K, she’s still after that happy ending. And today’s prince may have fangs and wear a black hat, but hey, a modern princess likes a guy who bites.

Rebecca attended Pepperdine University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a Political Science emphasis. While there she worked as the Editor-in-Chief of The Graphic newspaper, a member of the Pi Phi Sorority and an intern for President Reagan, who still gave 3-5 speeches a week, even though he was no longer president.

After college, Rebecca worked as an art curator and a Senate aide before heading to law school, where she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho. She married Tony Zanetti in the middle of her second year of law school and became pregnant with their first child during the third year. She graduated law school, gave birth three weeks later, and took the Bar Exam three weeks after that. All she remembers about the bar exam is that it was so quiet in the testing room, she thought about taking a quick nap. But she continued on, passed the bar and became a lawyer. She worked for a large firm, then a small firm, then the county while also teaching legal classes at her local community college. Now she writes romances about vampires, cowboys, and soldiers.

Growing up amid the glorious backdrops and winter wonderlands of the Pacific Northwest has given Rebecca fantastic scenery and adventures to weave into her stories. She resides there with her husband, children and extended family who inspire her every day. Rebecca has completed several manuscripts, winning award throughout the writing industry for her work. She is currently writes the Dark Protector series for Kensington Publishing, the Maverick Montana series for Entangled Publishing, and the Sin Brothers series for Grand Central Publishing.
