Hello everyone and welcome to the year 2022! Can you believe that we have already reached the new year? I don’t know about you but 2021 was a most different year, it had a mixed feeling of slow and fast. While I felt in some ways it breezed by, but in other aspects, it was such a SLOW year too.
So now that we have reached the new year, it’s that special moment where we think about making those goals and resolutions. I will be honest, I don’t have too many resolutions planned here. I have seen that if I have too many I get too overwhelmed and I never really accomplish those goals. So these are all reachable and will be easy to do.
Bookish/Blogging Goals
More Involvement in Instagram (my goal is to have 3-5 posts every week)
Finalize the Time Era’s section of the Database, but also update some of the other sections for the more recent of reads.
Goodreads goal: 300 books. Now I am planning on striving to read way more than this. The past couple of years my reading hasn’t been the best. So I want to push myself. I can easily make 300 but I am going to endeavor to read more. I am planning on limiting my tv/movie watching. I am canceling my subscriptions. And I am able to listen to audiobooks at work. And while I will continue to support fellow romance content creators on YouTube, I am going to keep up with them so that my book reading can be more encouraged.
Reading Challenge: I will be participating in reading challenges this year. But mostly challenges that work for me. I have noticed that reading challenges and readathons that are genre-based just don’t seem to work for me very well. Its a risk of putting me in a book slump, I prefer to rotate the sub-genres in romance that I read. Still deciding on which ones I will be going with though. But I will update them on my monthly recaps for you all.
I also want to start building up my physical library more, going to get more billy bookcases from Ikea and just fill them with books.
Personal/Life Goals
Health and Fitness—My goal is every day to do some sort of physical activity, whether it’s a walk, or some yoga sessions, or a full-on workout. But also making a more focus to eat more health-focused, with more focus on natural foods.
Cultivate greenery in the home- I want to have some home plants and be more about having natural plants around me.
Find healthy delicious recipes to try out, I have been wanting to explore more healthy foods that are super tasty.
300 books? That’s great! Have a happy new year!
Happy New Year Renee. Your new layout is beautiful. Loving your goals that are not over whelming. I really wanted to have more real plants than my artificial greenery I use around my house last year but never got around to doing it. The goal I have for now is to light more candles in our house. I always buy a ton of candles but do not use them as much as I should.
Oh thank you babe! I appreciate that from you. I love candles too but I rarely light them unless I want to have a bath. I really love the pillar candles.
Happy New Year!
300 books is impressive. My goals are very similar to yours actually. Be more responsive in the book community and just be happy. I really felt the pressure last year and it stunted me. This year is definitely going to be more easygoing in that regard.
Thank you so much Whitney. I normally reach on average about 350 so its definitely reachable. Yes embrace the joy of life. There is so much to be grateful for in our lives.
Good luck on your goals. I like the blog design.
These are wonderful goals! I am also able to listen to audiobooks at work which really helps me read more every year. I love the new look!
Happy New Year! Love the new site. I can’t say that I haven’t really thought too hard about 2022 and any goals for it. I want to do more redecorating around the house. I’d love to get it done this year. I want to be more active on my blog this year. Sadly 2020 kicked my butt and I fell very behind on things. I’m truly hoping 2022 is better for all of us.
I am all over your personal goals. I have been dong meal prep for the work week and want to find more options for breakfast/lunch. The greenery sounds great too. Plants supposedly have a lot of health value for us. Good luck with all your goals!
Very worthy and doable goals for the year and ones that will challenge and bring happiness. I’ve got some goals in mind and still working on how to make them habits. Happy New Year, Renee!
Happy new year! Good luck with your goals. I definitely need to work more on getting more physical activity.
