Just when Nevada Baylor has finally come to accept the depths of her magical powers, she also realizes she’s fallen in love. Connor “Mad” Rogan is in many ways her equal when it comes to magic, but she’s completely out of her elements when it comes to her feelings for him. To make matters more complicated, an old flame comes back into Rogan’s life…

Rogan knows there’s nothing between him and his ex-fiance, Rynda Sherwood. But as Nevada begins to learn more about her past, her power, and her potential future, he knows she will be faced with choices she never dreamed of and the promise of a life spent without him.

As Nevada and Rogan race to discover the whereabouts of Rynda’s kidnapped husband and are forced to confront Nevada’s grandmother, who may or may not have evil motives, these two people must decide if they can trust in each other or allow everything to go up in smoke.

Wildfire is the thrilling, on the edge of your seat thrills and chills as Connor “Mad Rogan” and Nevada try to come out on top for the danger that threatens them from an enemy they won’t see coming.

What an explosive installment in this series and boy I was just overcome in so many ways in this story. Nevada and Connor just grow so much in this story and we see their relationship deal with some unique dynamics that they have never dealt with previously.

Nevada knows that with her grandmother searching for her and her siblings, that they are in grave danger and each day she never knows if it will be the day that her grandmother will find them. But there is one way, is to claim themselves as a “House” which will protect them for three years and allow them to gain strength and build their protection. But when Nevada is called in to solve a case of Connor’s ex girlfriend, whose husband has been kidnapped, it will prove to challenge Nevada  with another woman threatening what she has with Connor. But Nevada is a woman who is a fighter especially when it comes to the man she loves.

We see some interesting complexities that rise in the story. Now the obvious strength of the story is the plot line dealing with the kidnapping and getting approved to be a house for Nevada’s family. The only downside to this story, and yes there was one small downside. The romance between Nevada and Connor took a back seat, and it felt less than normal with Ilona Andrews and I would have liked to see Connor and Nevada together more in this book especially with their relationship becoming more cemented than in previous books. What I was impressed by was the truly development of the story line.

This story was so ‘on the edge of your seat’ exciting. I never knew what would happen and there were some shocks that I didn’t see coming but I was so impressed with Nevada. Connor doesn’t want to make the situation worse for Nevada and is willing to put their relationship on hold or not announce it but Nevada is NOT subtle and not ashamed of what she has with Connor and I love how she is always showing what he means to her.

Overall Wildfire is a story of danger, intrigue, of unsuspecting villains and the true strength that Connor and Nevada have together….POWERFULLY PROVOKING!

About Ilona Andrews

Ilona Andrews is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.)

Gordon and Ilona currently reside in Oregon with their two children, three dogs and a cat. They have co-authored two series, the bestselling urban fantasy of Kate Daniels and romantic urban fantasy of The Edge.

I felt the same way with Nevada and Connor’s romance taking a bit of a back seat relative to the other books. Hence, why I’ve convinced myself that there must be at least ONE MORE book in the pipeline for Hidden Legacy (Fingers crossed!!!)

haha I am crossing my fingers that there will be another book because the ending wasn’t really as final as I was expecting for the last book right?

Glad you enjoyed this one as well! I agree with everyone that the romance took a backseat until the end of the book but I loved the action and Nevada’s personal growth. She was such a badass! And learning more about her family members was great, too. 🙂

I really did enjoy this one Michele, so dang good. I wish there was more focus on the romance, but the plot was so exciting and fun. And it was great seeing more depth to Nevada.

Looks like the series ended on a good note. I’ve only read book one so far, but hope to get to 2 and 3 this year.

Yes for the most part, the ending wasn’t very final though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there is another book. But we shall see. If not, it was still a great trilogy to read. Hope you enjoy White Hot and Wildfire as much as I did.

oooh!! Look at you! Reading one of my most favorite authors/series. I hope they’ll continue writing this series since they clearly didn’t listen to me when I said there is no way that they can finish Kate after this years book. I don’t even know what I should do when there is no more Kate and Curran. I think I’ll need to go to a Ilona Andrews survival rehab retreat.

I loved this series, and I’m glad to see you did, too. I loved the relationship dynamics between Mad and Nevada, and that Mad went against his nature and never stepped in when Nevada could defend herself. One of the many many things I love about Mad Rogan! LOL

    Great review. 🙂
