The brother known as Hound has a reputation. He’s all about cracking heads, having a good time, and when the Chaos Motorcycle Club needs someone to do the tough job, they call on him.

But Hound has a secret. He fell in love with a woman years ago. She’s untouchable. Unattainable. And even when her status changes, for Hound, it remains the same.

Keely Black had it all early and lost it all not long after. Thrown into an abyss of loss and grief, she’s faced a life of raising two sons alone and battling the rage at all that had been ripped from them.

And why.

Words spoken in anger open Hound’s and Keely’s eyes. For Hound, he sees he’s wasted his life loving the wrong woman. Keely sees she’s wasting her life not opening herself to the love of a good man.

Wild Like The Wind is the fifth book in the Chaos series and the second to last book to be written in the series which makes it so bitter sweet we only have one more book to go before the series is done. Yes my heart is breaking, because these Chaos club brothers have stolen my heart continually over the years. And these books might just be some of my favorites from the infamous KA. I love the way she has woven these books and characters together and in Wild Like The Wind we have a story that features Hound and Keely and we see their story unfold so beautifully.

Keely is devoted to the Chaos club and she she has been for many years, she fell in love with a biker “Black” whom she gave her heart and life to, married, and had two wonderful boys with. But one day his throat was cut by an enemy and her life got torn in two. Now she will have to raise her boys on her own but there is one person who is there for her and her sons over the years…. a man that has been in love with Keely for years and knows the rules of the club and the number one is you don’t touch another brothers woman even if he is gone or the consequences would be severe. But for eighteen years Hound has been the rock for Keely, making sure she is taken care of financially and that her boys are brought up right and being their friend with their father being gone.

Keely is tired of waiting, even though its been eighteen years she is ready to start living her life again and say goodbye to black and have a fresh start with the man she is willing to give her heart to but she knows it won’t be easy convincing him that what they have is worth the risk. At first Keely and Hound have hot sexy times but slowly it turns into spending more time together staying hidden from the club so they don’t find out. But both Keely and Hound know that time is precious and they might have to “face the music” and sooner than they would like. Keely fears what the club with do to Hound and that it may harden her heart against the only family who has accepted her fully.

“You know I need you Hound. You. You know why. You know how it is with us.”

He did not.

“Don’t pull away from me, ” she finished.

“Woman–”

Both her hands grabbed his cheeks and she got deeper in his face. “You’re mine and you know it. You’re all I have left. Don’t take that away from me.”

What a wonderful book this turned out to be and I fell in love with this story SO much here. It was simply superb and I didn’t want to put it down at all. I read this LONG audiobook pretty quickly. I will admit that the narrator chosen is superb, and she doesn’t have a long list of books she has done so far but some of the books she has narrated are some of my favorites. She has a way of spinning a tale that is so compelling for the listener and her voice is so lovely to listen to. She really implements the right level of emotion.

In Wild Like The Wind we get to see the bond that Hound and Keely develop over the years following Black’s death. We see what a strong man Hound is, how responsible and steady he is. He loves Keely and both of her sons and helps keep them on the right path when they need a man’s guidance in their lives. We see what a strong woman Keely is and how grief and sorrow effects people differently. I love her tenacity and spirit and courage. The ways she understands the club, the way she fights for her man and even the little things in showing her boys the good in life.

“Wild like the wind”

“Baby?”

“I was once that,” she told him. Yeah she was. Wild and beautiful and happy and carefree.

“I know you were.” he replied

“Feels like centuries ago.” Where his thumb could reach, he stroked her face “I know.”

She looked deep into his eyes “I get that back, right here with you”

The sexy times in this book is HOT!! I will warn you that you might want to skip these parts if you are listening at work or something because yeah its very provoking. I love the way that Kristen Ashley writes her sex scenes because they are so steamy but at the same time with profound emotion mixed in. I adored seeing Hound and Keely explore their desires together and find what works for them in the bedroom.

We do a get a small side story of a romance dealing with Boz and Beverly. Now I really liked Bev a LOT and the friendship she has with Keely. She has been hurt a lot by Boz and at first I didn’t know what to think of the new man she finds herself engaged with but we gain such a great respect for Tad who is perfect for her and what she deserves. We also see another beautiful relationship between Hound and Jean. Jean is an elderly woman who Hound takes care of and seeing them together is so tender and sweet. Jean understands Hound and accepts him and it was simply poignant seeing their relationship and seeing a different side to Hound—a man who can be thoughtful and kind.

Hound started to move but stopped when Boz called his name. He returned his gaze to his brother. “Tack was wrong.” Boz said

“About what? ” Hound asked.

“Black wasn’t the best of us.” Hound stood silent, now feeling his throat itch. “You are.” Boz finished. His brother gave him that. And then he left the room.

Now what I really loved was the ending in the book and seeing the conflict be resolved with the club and seeing how valued Hound and Keely are to the club and how much these brothers come together and see a different side of things. And yes we get some great times with the women where they fight and defend the sisterhood that they have created with their connections to the club. I love how they love each other so fiercely both the men and women in this club and what they go through for each other.

About Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Ahhhh I loved Jean and their relationship.
The sexy times were a. Little too much in this one, especially up until we get Keely’s POV.

Great and thorough review, hon. Need to check who the narrator is!
