A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan.
I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York.
The food, champagne, and service were impeccable—the blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better.
He was smart, suave, and sexy. We talked and flirted—and though the plane was unexpectedly grounded, we still felt sky high in each other’s company.
We danced and laughed our way around Boston…and had a night of crazy passion that no woman could forget.
That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him—until today.
I started a new job and met the CEO. Imagine my surprise when I saw those naughty blue eyes gazing at me from behind his mahogany desk.
But I’m not that carefree girl anymore. I have a boyfriend now, and responsibilities.
Now he wants to see me in his office for a private meeting. How can I resist?

This review may contain spoilers, so fair warning, upon reading the review.

The Stopover is the first book in the “Miles High Club” and this is also my first T.L. Swan novel and boy was this book a RUSH of thrills in every way that I look for in my contemporary romance. I don’t know why there are so many mixed reviews of this one on Goodreads because I adored it in every way possible and I just couldn’t seem to get enough. of this one. I would like to mention that the writing style of T.L. Swan is very easy to get into, she will easily get you caught up in the story. Now, this isn’t my first time trying this one out. I once started this a few months ago, but I just don’t think I was in the right mood for this one here, but somehow this second time around it truly worked for me in all the ways that matter. Now I would like to mention I definitely understand why others may have had issues with this one but I dearly LOVED everything about this one here.

The Stopover is a sexy stimulating romance that is bound to bring a smile to your face that features

  • Jameson Miles-CEO of a journalism company, protective of his family, alpha male, arrogant
  • Emily Foster-smart and sassy, intelligent, driven to succeed in her dreams

The Stopover begins with our heroine, Emily, who is traveling to New York for a job interview and through a set of circumstances she ends up in first-class seating and she finds herself seated next to one of the sexiest men she has ever seen in her life. And through some sassy snark, they spark and sizzle all the way through the plane ride and experience a steamy one-night affair with each other. But then they part their separate ways until one year later when Emily lands her dream job and who happens to be her boss and the CEO of the company that she is working for…..Jameson Miles has learned to be strong and to put up the front of being the tough and formidable CEO. He can’t afford any vulnerabilities but he has one and that is Emily Foster. He has no clue how to deal with her, because she is the one soft spot in his heart. He has never forgotten that night he had with her or being able to be himself, the side of his personality that only his family ever sees. Emily causes him to feel conflicted but he can’t seem to resist the temptation that she offers, but the question is can Jameson be brave enough to fight for the woman he loves?

We stare at each other in the flickering light, and if I could bottle this moment, I would. Never have I had something so raw and pure in my life. Her love is a light . . . my light.

The Stopover was such a story that worked completely for me in just about every way. Now I first want to put a warning out there in that the hero is a jerk hero. Yep you heard that and those that have been here for a while understand that this type of hero doesn’t always work for me but somehow it did (haha) and even as I am writing this review I still don’t fully comprehend how this book worked in the way that it did. Now it is a plus that this book was such an easy read, and I am talking about the type of read that you don’t want to put down and I just love these types of books and am so happy that my first TL Swan actually ended up working so well for me in the way that it did. Now I can understand how this hero won’t work for many because he is rough around the edges, he gets upset easily, and can be arrogant. But this angst-filled relationship is not just one-sided because the heroine has her own thorns and prickly side. She pushes back against Jameson just as much as he delivers. So definitely no passive wallflower we have in this one. I actually loved their complex relationship and boy this book GAVE me so many laughs. Especially that camping scene (and all those who have read this book know exactly to what chapter I am referring to) I have really been loving finding humor in these books when I least expect it to happen.

I inhale deeply into her hair and smile as I watch the fire. This is it. I can stop searching. I’ve found her.

Overall I found The Stopover to be a tantalizing heart-stopping of a romance that fed my romantic soul in the exact mood that I was feeling. Its a story of redemption, growth, and adaption to new circumstances….

You need to allow yourself to be who you are with Emily and be the Jameson Miles that the world knows. It’s not one or the other like you think it is.

It can be tough to make a jerk hero likable! But I guess Swan pulled it off with Jameson. 🙂 Glad this was such a hit for you!

Woo hoo!! You tried a TL Swan book…and loved it!! 🙂 Doesn’t she write the most interesting combinations of heroes & heroines? The angst, the tension, the heroes who tend to be alphaholes that hide a good heart, and the heroines who are smart & sassy. lol Sounds like this story showcased her storytelling well! I need to catch up on her backlist. Maybe that will be my project next year. Hmmm… Great review!!
