Praise for Forever His Texas Bride:"Broday's Westerns always captivate." -RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars"One of the best historical western authors." -Fresh Fiction"Poignant, dramatic and packed with action and mystery." -Addicted to Romance

The Heart Of A Texas Cowboy is a thrilling tale that brings a marriage of convenience onto a path of danger, thrillings valleys and mountains and fighting for a love you never expected to find.

The Heart of a Texas Cowboy is a wonderful read that will the normal Linda Broday style, had me on the edge of my seat. In fact more than any of her other books I was hooked more than normal because this story is a bit more filled with suspense and intrigue than I normally see in her books where the romance and the emotional development is at the core of the story. However with The Heart of a Texas Cowboy we have all of that sure, but there is also a great action-packed plot that just keeps you in “tense” mood all the way through.

The key players that make an impression in The Heart of a Texas Cowboy would be:

  • Houston Legend, our beloved hero, is still recovering from a shattering loss and betrayal and barely living life
  • Lara Boone, our courageous heroine, was attacked and ended up a mother and now needs protection from a man evil who will stop at nothing from possessing her.

You fought him to live and you survived pure hell to do it–it’s the mark of a survivor. Hold your head high, Lara.

Our wonderful story starts off when Houston watches when his bride to be is murdered on their wedding day but also learns that she slept with another man and was pregnant and had never loved him in the way that he had her. Now he is still bitter and has no desire to ever marry or have a family like he once dreamed. But then his father tells him that unless he marries a neighbor they will a big portion of their land. That this woman needs a good man to marry. So he agrees knowing that he doesn’t have any choice. Lara is still recovering from the time when she was brutally raped, beaten and scarred and became pregnant. Now she has a young infant to care for and reluctantly agrees to marriage with Houston, not having any idea what to expect. But when Houston is on a tight schedule to take his cattle drive, and in need of a cook, his lovely wife volunteers. She isn’t afraid of hardship but soon her past is catching up to her and will put the people she cares about in danger…

I see the man inside and he still has much to give. You can’t let her define you. You define yourself. You alone decide your future. I’ll be grateful if it’s with me.

This author has such an eloquent way of writing a love story and I was completely hooked on this story. Of course, I am not surprised, but I was so intrigued by the set up of the story, especially in our heroine recovering from rape and being pregnant from that attack. At first, Houston is pretty bitter but when he meets Lara and realizes that she is a kind and tender-hearted young woman, he realizes that he wants their marriage to work and a beautiful baby girl that wraps herself around his finger instantly. I love seeing these two change in the course of their relationship. We see Houston go from being hardhearted and bitter, to learning to love again and be accepting of a new situation. Lara learns to not fear Houston, and to overcome her fear of the man that raped her and become confident and sure of herself again. Then, of course, we have the plot with our villain and wow its been a while since I have read such a horrible villain in a romance. In fact, I can’t think of a time when I have read of the worst one. He is truly evil. He stalks and puts fear into Lara and Houston’s life and the people they are protective of. It was really heartbreaking to see what happens through the course of events, but to see the villain be defeated in a way I wasn’t expecting but was more than satisfied with was a on high feeling. Its the growth of the characters that really makes this story so in depth and real. I really enjoyed seeing the good conquer evil in this story and seeing the way these characters overcame some bad trauma and circumstances and rise above to do what needs to be done.

The Heart of a Texas Cowboy is a thrilling, on the edge tale that will give you all the feels, makes you think, open your eyes on the realism of the “wild west” and captivate hearts and minds!!! A TRUE TREASURE

About Linda Broday

I live in the Texas Panhandle on land they call the Llano Estacado where the Native Americans once roamed. History is so thick here with the ghosts of the people who settled this land. I love writing western historical romance and can't imagine writing anything else. I love a man in a Stetson and tight pants. Cowboys also get me fired up.

The set up on this one grabbed me right from page one. I loved this pair and their story. The action was great, too.

Thank you so much for the kind words. Houston and Lara had so much to overcome in this story and at times I wasn’t sure exactly how I’d give them their HEA. The story was very emotional for me and I used a lot of tissues while writing. My heart just broke for them. But it’s not all dark and gloomy. Baby Gracie and Lara’s younger brothers add lots of humor. I just loved all the characters but Henry who is a bit slow really captured my heart. Thanks again for the 4 1/2 Blossoms!
