Passion sparks in USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Teresa Medeiros's irresistibly tempting new romance after a sexy Highlander kidnaps his rival's spirited English bride Emmaline Marlowe is about to wed the extremely powerful laird of the Hepburn clan to save her father from debtor's prison when ruffian Jamie Sinclair bursts into the abbey on a magnificent black horse and abducts her in one strong swoop. Though he is Hepburn's sworn enemy, Emma's mysterious captor is everything her bridegroom is not: handsome, virile, dangerous . . . and a perilous temptation for her yearning heart.Jamie expects Emma to be some milksop English miss, not a fiery, defiant beauty whose irresistible charms will tempt him at every turn. But he cannot allow either one of them to forget he is her enemy and she his pawn in the deadly Highland feud between the clans. So why does he still want her so badly for himself? Stealing his enemy's bride was simple, but can he claim her innocence without losing his heart.

Summary
Emmaline, out of duty and obligation, consented to marry the Earl of Hepburn, but knew in her heart she could never love him. Emmaline knows that marrying the powerful laird, she is only saving her family from ruin, and after sacrificing so much of herself for her family, she is also willing to marry a stranger in order to secure their future. But right before she says her vows, a dangerous highlander, enemy to her groom to be, kidnaps her. He is opposite of her groom in every way, handsome, virile, and sexy. Especially at first Emmaline is outraged at being taken by this highlander, however she knows that there is more to meet the eye when it comes to Jamie Sinclair and his men. So Emmaline starts to doubt what she previously had thought about the Earl and starts to believe and trust in the outlaw, scoundrel and man of her heart….James Sinclair

The Hero (James Alistair Sinclair)
Jamie, taking after his ancestors and the Highland tradition, steals his enemy’s bride, but never thought he would be driven to it. Jamie is determined to get back what was stolen from the Sinclair Clan, no matter the cost, even kidnapping a innocent woman. What Jamie never expected was not to find a simpering miss in his arms, but a fiery spirited woman, who doesn’t back down from him. And before he realizes it, Jamie doesn’t want to let go of the woman who holds his heart and he never wants her to leave him.

The Heroine (Emmaline Marlowe)
Emmaline, dreamed of her wedding day, of giving her heart to someone who loved her and whom she was completly devoted to, however not all dreams come true, and Emmaline knows it is one dream that won’t be coming true for her. Emmaline has always been a devoted daughter to her parents, never rebelling and always obeying them. Now she has to marry a old Laird and Earl, whom might be very powerful, but doesn’t stir up her passions like she has dreamed of. But when she is kidnapped at the alter, by the most handsome man she has come across, she wonders if fate has a way of interfering and showing her hearts desire in this one man, one who will change her life…forever. Emmaline is a heroine filled with deep desires and passions, but has had to supress them most of her life. She has never fallen in love like she has dreamed. Emmaline despite her obedient nature to her family, has a inner fire that needs a outlet, and the man who kidnaps her is the perfect outlet to bring out the true heroine in this book. Emmaline is strong, determine, loyal and ever persistent in finding her true love.

My Thoughts
The Devil Wears Plaid, is a bit different scenery from all the other books that Teresa Medieros has written. The Devil Wears Plaid is a powerful story of two people that were so different from each other, but yet so right for one another. At the beginning of the story we see Emmaline and Jamie collide in tempers and passions, but as events surrounding them only escalate in danger and mystery, does the love for each other blossom. I found that I couldn’t put this one down, and before I knew it, the story was over and I was felt like “where did all the time go??” This has such a entrancing story line, one that will ensnare your attention from the first page and won’t let you go until the very end….definitely a romance you don’t want to miss out on. Teresa Medeiros does deliver…..and this one for me is a 5 rating!!! It compelely and deliciously won me over! The passion, the characters, the plot, the charming story, a magical read!!!

My Favorite Quote
“What are you doing?” she whispered, torn between hope and alarm.
“Making the biggest mistake of my life,” he said grimly, before dragging her into his arms and claiming her lips in a wild and desperate kiss that stole both her breath and heart away.
