First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels
Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward—full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That’s when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he’d violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.
Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She’s been terrified of him ever since, but she’s even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from... But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She’s living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there’s only one man she can trust to go with her—the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.
Puck will help her again, but this time it’ll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants...This edition only: A new Silver Valley story

My Review

Summary

Puck Redhouse has just been released from prison, protecting his club and all of his brothers from their enemies that would destroy them. Its been a long fourteen months and now he is free and just earned his patch that he worked long and hard for. Now its time to celebrate, and he finds Becca Jones, a woman who is shy but classically beautiful, and he wants her. He has her in a passionate night, but then he realizes that not everything is as it seems. He learns something shocking about her, and frees her from a prison of abuse and takes her with him back to Silver Valley. But he has to wait for her to grow up, a girl who needs to grow into a woman..his woman. Puck has watched over her for five years, and now he can’t resist her any longer, he must have her finally…if she wasn’t so willful and stubborn …now he must convince her that he is sincere no matter what it takes.

The Hero

Puck Redhouse, grew up in the club, his father a member, and its the only life he has ever known. Loyalty is everything to him and he will die for it. Puck knows exactly what type of person he is, and even though he aches for Becca, he knows he could never be worthy of someone so good and pure. He is tough, a pure alpha male, domineering and commanding in every way, and at times he seems to be your typical bad ass biker type. But as you see him underneath the surface, you see the honor he has, and his dedication to his brothers. He is true to himself, doesn’t hide anything, isn’t ashamed of what he has had to do to protect.

The Heroine

Becca has become a self sufficient strong-willed woman. But it wasn’t an easy road for her. She grew up with a mom that was a bikers whore and did anything for drugs. And her step father pimped her out at twelve, and all she has ever known is abuse and being treated less than who she really is. A strong and passionate woman. She meets Puck when she is only sixteen, but he treats her with such gentleness and care that she has never known before, he protects her and saves her from a life in hell. Now its been five years, she is almost done with school, has her own place, and loves her independence and paving her own life. She wants Puck, but also knows that being with him could be very dangerous. I loved Becca…she is feisty and strong and I love seeing how hard she works to be herself and not let her past bring her down. I loved her passion in everything she did, and her will to fight for a good life.

Plot and Story Line

Silver Bastard is the first book in a new series by Wylde, however despite that its a new series, not really, it does relate with the Reapers and we do some characters from that series which was quite fun to see. And now I want to re read that series again. Well with Silver Bastard Wylde has captured me once again. This is no light and carefree love story…its tough and gritty and really put you through some tension as you read…but what marvelous tension it is. From the beginning you know its going to be a tough romance to read…but by the end you are fully satisfied with the biggest meal you have ever eaten. From the beginning we see that things are not as they seem. At first we see some strong sparks between Puck and Becca, but you also sense something more to Becca, that her life is not what it seems. After we have quite a steamy night of hot sex and sheets, the next morning you are in for a shocker, because you learn certain things about what Becca’s life really is like, and the possessive and protective male instincts that ride Puck hard…where he takes her from her horrible life and to a life of freedom and independence. Then we jump to five years later, where Puck is a valid member of his club, trying to work out some problems they are dealing with one of their enemies, and all while trying to decide what he should do with Becca…when all he truly wants is to claim her as his old lady. Becca however wants more than just sex from Puck, she wants a normal life, she doesn’t want to turn into her mother, a whore and nothing else. She wants more from her life, to be strong and have a husband and children. But we start to see how a jealous Puck reacts to that, and not well. We aspects of a biker clubs life, and the day-to-day problems, we see two people who  are in love and just don’t realize it, and see them struggle and muddle through it and try to figure out a relationship.

The Cover

Whew….this might be my favorite cover from this author. They are all so great, but I love his pose…hunched over the chair, with those sculpted shoulders and arms….delicious enough to lick…don’t y’all think?

Overall View

Silver Bastard is a truly tough and gritty romance…plenty of hot chemistry, packed with plenty of action, mystery and passionate characters that wins you over. STUNNING!!

Favorite Quotes

“That’s how pathetic things had gotten. I’d actually sat alone in the darkness lusting after a girl like some fucking Robert Pattinson wannabe. At least I smoked instead of sparkled.

——————————

“You’re mine. I fought for you five years ago and then I let you go. That was your free pass. Now you’ve invited me back in and I’m here to stay. I’ll kill for you. Die for you. but I will not fucking let you go.”

That boy’s crazy about you. Like a pit bull crushing on a kitten.
