Sometimes two wrongs can make a right...
Bad boy wrangler, Archer Kane, lives fast and loose. Words like responsibility and commitment send him running in the opposite direction. Until a wild Vegas weekend puts him on a collision course with Eden Bankcroft-Kew, a New York heiress running away from her blackmailing fiancé…the morning of her wedding.
Eden has never understood the big attraction to cowboys. Give her a guy in a tailored suit any day of the week. But now all she can think about is Mr. Rugged Handsome, six-feet of sinfully sexy country charm with a pair of green eyes that keeps her tossing and turning all night long.
Archer might be the wrong guy for a woman like her, but she's not right in thinking he'll walk away without fighting for her heart. And maybe, just maybe, two wrongs can make a right.

My Review

Summary

Archer Kane, the ultimate bad boy runs his life with zero commitment and living free and on his own timetable. He avoids living up to his responsibilities. But when he goes on one of his well renown Vegas trips with too much drinking and sex, he bumps into Eden, who wakes him up and Archer starts to change and wants something meaningful in his life. Eden Bankcroft Kew, on the day of her wedding, so overhears a conversation that her fiancée has with his “mistress” and how he is only marrying her for her fortune. She is furious and hurt, she Eden abandons him, and bumps into Archer. Archer makes her laugh and even though he is a cowboy, she finds him irresistible but she knows that she has to figure things out for herself. But follows him to Brightwater to build a new life for herself…to have a fresh start. But her past may ruin her before she has a chance to build something wonderful in Brightwater and with the man she has fallen heads over heels with. Can love truly overcome scandal and an enemy?

The Hero

Archer Kane, is the one brother that his grandmother is gearing up to take over the ranch, if Archer will stop avoiding his responsibilities to himself and the family. Archer and his two brothers lost their parents when they were young, and they were raised by their grandmother. His grandmother took over running the ranch after losing her husband after five years of marriage. She takes control and has had to be the leader since she was in her twenties. Archer is a bit wild and untamed, enjoys a life of drinking and too many women. When he wakes up with three women in his bed and not remembering a thing. Archer realizes this is not what he wants in his life. His plan is to head back home, and back to his duties to the ranch and to his grandmother. Archer is charismatic, fun and is pretty sexual. But he also wants more in his life and goes after it. He mans up to his past. It was interesting seeing Archer turn his life around and we that certain qualities have always been in Archer, he just hides it real well. Love how sweet he is with Eden.

The Heroine

Eden made a promise to her dying mother, that she would marry and carry on the prestige of the family name. So she agrees to marry a man her mother picked out for her. She puts her heart and soul into the relationship but then when she learns the truth about her fiancee and how he has been playing her, she takes a new course on life. Eden, upon meeting Archer, moves to Brightwater. A small town in California, but is just right for what Eden needs. But Eden needs to decide what to do. She has quite a fortune but she wants to do something fun and meaningful and help the community. So she decides to open up a coffee and bakery shop. Baking is her passion and she wants to share that with these small town folks who live a simple life. Eden is sweet and kind, stands on her own feet. I really liked her character because of how easy I could relate with her.

Plot and Story Line

Right Wrong Guy is a story that takes us from the big city to a small rural town where we discover love and committment in ways we dont expect. When we first meet these two, we see their lives before they “meet up” and boy both of them are wanting to make changes in life. Then they bump into each other at a coffee shop. We see how right they are for each other. They have chemistry and hit it off in their personalities pretty quick—in just one interaction. But both Eden and Archer know it’s the wrong time for them. But then Eden takes a leap of faith and asks Archer for a ride to Brightwater. She has a friend that lives there and it seems like the perfect place to lay low for a while until she decides what to do after fleeing her wedding. Archer is intrigued and spell bound by Eden, he wants her but he is also consumed by her. He just can’t get enough and wants more. But Eden wants time, she has heard plenty of stories about Archer’s sexual adventures and after being hurt, she doesn’t want to jump into the fire of another failed relationship. But Archer is determined to prove to Eden he will wait for however long it takes to show that he truly cares for her in a real and long term way.

I’m into you, okay? YOU. Only you. I’m all up to my ears with the idea of you.

This is a story that I fell instantly for. Now I bought this book months ago and I thank Quinn @ Quinn’s Book Nook for getting this book. But then this week I realized I really wanted to read this. Especially with the third book just becoming released, I wanted to see what I thought of this author before I read her. And boy was I blown away. Before I realized it the book was over, I just was so consumed by this story I didn’t even realize how fast I was turning the pages. This was a sweet and passionate love story that swept me away into the heart of it.

The emotions that this book conveys was so real and what a fantastic story teller this author is. She pulls the reader right into it, and you get locked away into the plot with the emotions vivid and the story that comes alive. This is a romance that is developed with two people who may seem wrong at first but end up being perfectly right. It’s about taking that leap of faith and hitting the treasure chest. I love the development of the plot and seeing what holds these two together when conflict erupts. LOVED EVERY MOMENT!!

The Cover

What a gorgeous cover….one of my favorites of the year. Its sweet and romantic and you can get lost in it. Love the kiss and the pose here, as if these two can’t get enough of each other.

Overall View

Right Wrong Guy is a stimulating romance that is lighthearted, fun and tender—-one of the best romances this year!! You can’t go wrong with Lia Riley as the story teller. A Love story that is packed with growth, passion and a love worth fighting for.

About Lia Riley

Lia Riley writes offbeat romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments.

A British literature fanatic at heart, Lia considers Mr. Darcy and Edward Rochester as her fictional boyfriends. Her very patient husband doesn't mind. Much. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about as-of-yet unwritten books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. Right now, Icelandic hot springs and Scottish castles sound pretty sweet.

She and her family live in Northern California.

I’m not a fan of the idea that small town equals simple life; it’s, well, simplistic, and unrealistic, so that would bother me. But the rest sounds good; I like when a character chooses to change not for someone else but because they realize they want or need to. Good review. 🙂

Yeah not all small towns are like this….but I guess that’s why its fiction hehe But I know they exist, they just are rare to find….but I feel they make great settings for a romance. I like that the characters change for themselves and not because they like or love each other. Its a good balance the author puts into the story. Because no one can change a person they love, they have to want to change first or it can cause quite a bit of conflict in the relationship.

The Avon Addicts seem to be LOVING this series! I confess, I don’t have much interest in the series, but I am curious about them, now that I’ve seen only one thousand and fifty positive reviews between the two books. So glad you enjoyed it!

    Lovely review! 🙂
