The de Vincent brothers are back—and so is the intrigue that surrounds them—in New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s sizzling new novel...

Nicolette Bresson never thought she’d return to the de Vincents’ bayou compound. It’s where her parents work, where Nikki grew up... and where she got her heart broken by Gabriel de Vincent himself. Yet here she is, filling in for her sick mother. Avoiding Gabe should be easy, especially when so much of Nikki’s time is spent trying not to be stabbed in the back by the malicious hangers-on who frequent the mansion. But escaping memories of Gabe, much less his smoking-hot presence, is harder than expected—especially since he seems determined to be in Nikki’s space as much as possible.

Gabriel spent years beating himself up over his last encounter with Nikki. He’d wanted her then, but for reasons that were bad for both of them. Things have now changed. Gabe sees more than a girl he’s known forever; he sees a smart, talented, and heartbreakingly beautiful woman... one who’s being stalked from the shadows. Now, Gabe will do anything to keep Nikki safe—and to stop the de Vincent curse from striking again.

Moonlight Seduction is the second book in the de Vincent trilogy and I was so thrilled to have the option from Avon to read this one in exchange for a honest review because this series is AMAZING. I truly believe it’s some of Armentrout’s best work. Of course, I have only read one other series from her…her NA books. I don’t know how her adult books compare to her YA books. However I will say that these books here are so unique and sensual. I love the gothic feel to these books especially since gothic romances just aren’t that popular and I always get a kick out of these type of tones of romances that have that intense yet thrilling edge to them.

It starts out with out heroine, hiding in a swimming pool because she doesn’t want the man that she has a crush on see her in her one piece suit which she is embarassed about. But she made a grave mistake when Gideon was drunk one night and she lost her virginity to him and he had never forgiven her for it. Nicolette grew up with the de Vincent brothers, her parents ran the place in keeping the grounds and their home in top condition as the paid servants. But she grew close to the brothers especially the younger brothers. Nicolette has been gone in college and has just returned home when her mother gets cancer and comes back as support and to help around the house.  Gideon and Nicolette have a rekindlilng of the spark they once felt years previous, but Nicolette is receiving death threats and her life is in danger. Will she and Gideon find out who is responsible in time or will Nicolette lose her life for her love of Gideon.

At first there are some pretty tense moments between Gideon and Nikki. They have some unresolved issues between them from the last time they saw each other. But the chemistry between them is more powerful than ever. And Gideon starts to realize that he doesn’t want to burn any bridge he could have with Nikki and decides that friendship would be a good start. So he begins to show her that he truly wants her as his friend, but Nikki knows that there is more between them than platonic friendship. But right when their relationship starts to deepen, Nikki feels like her life is in danger when various incidents happen that could have caused her death.

I fell hard in love with this book, it was so dang fun and swoony and really intense in intrigue and suspense and of course we have these fun moments between Gideon and Nikki that were so delightful. Both characters are simply fun to know. Gideon is the “nice” brother, of course at first you don’t think that about it. But as the story progresses, you see that he is the nice one. Devlin is the mean one and Lucian (from book one) is the mischievous of the bunch. So getting to know Gideon was just wonderful, I loved his personality and how protective he is of Nikki and his brothers. The romance that develops between these two is sexy, there are certain moments that are so swoon worthy and seriously you get lost in these moments between them. We also see more depths to Devlin, he is a brother that is not one the reader is sure about. But we see that when it comes to “family” he will do anything to protect them and he definitely redeems himself in the end so I can’t wait to grab up his book later this year.

Overall I found Moonlight Seduction to be a on the edge of your seat, thrill you to your toes, fill you up with moments of intense love and devotion, and give you a full belly satisfying read that will lift your spirits…..guaranteed to make you fall head over heels in love!
