Then evil strikes and Royce is destroyed before Allie's eyes. Now Allie will do anything to save Royce—even if it means going back in time to a dark, dangerous world. Summary
Allie Monroe is a healer, living in New York City, modern day. When she then meets Black Royce, a Master and the most compelling man she has ever met. When he dies trying to save her life, she refuses to accept his death as fate. So she convinces his closest friend to take her back through time to save him. Only this Royce is far difference from the one she has fallen in love with in her time. Now time is running out for them both as they must face Royce’s enemies together, and hope it doesn’t cost them both their love and their lives!!

The Hero (Black Royce)
Royce is one of the oldest masters and has seen too much and experienced so much and when he meets Allie and is called upon to go to the future and protect her, he knows that Allie Monroe is his greatest Weakness. Royce is a strong and capable warrior, and has lived for a long time but has never known love until he sees Allie, and knows that she will be his achilles heel…

The Heroine (Allie Monroe)
Allie Monroe is a powerful healer and one evening is saved by a Golden Man (whom after seeing her mother in a dream who tells her to trust this man) and then she falls in love with Royce, and is horrified after seeing him killed right before her very eyes. So she goes back in time in a attempt to save his life from the demon that killed him in the first place. But in this time Royce is much different, and she goes about to show him how love can change oneself, but never knowing the danger that would follow her in this time.

My Thoughts
Dark Rivals is the second in the Masters of Time series, and I just had such a fun time reading Royce’s story. It starts with a tender love story which becomes very emotional when we see Royce being killed, however the story is only at the beginning. Brenda Joyce takes the reader on a thrilling adventure back through time and space, where two people discover that their love is magical and one that will last through the ages. A FANTASTIC READ!!!

My Favorite Quote
He crushed her in his arms, hard and opened her mouth with his lips. She kissed him back, and in unison their pulses soared. “Don’t worry. I’m your destiny”
