Come Away With Me is the first book in this wonderful series by Kristen Proby. Ever since coming across these characters in the Boudreaux series, I was very intrigued by this family so I just had to pick up the first book and since it was available in the Romance Package at Audible, I was more than ready to listen to this story and boy did I LOVE this book so very much here. It was superb and fantastic and I fell so hard for these characters. And boy sometimes its just nice to read a Kristen Proby romance, because every time I read her I just know I will be for a lucky treat, where there is little drama and just a sweet love story that I can relax into and Come Away With Me was exactly what I needed because it left me happy and gooey inside.
So it starts off with a hitch when our heroine is walking along the beach, taking scenic photographs with her camera when suddenly this crazy but hot man comes at her, raging to stop taking photos of him and Natalie is more than a little confused why he would think that of her but she fights back to him. And before Natalie realizes it, they have resolved the little misunderstanding and sparks fly and they are having hot sex in the bedroom and revealing secrets to each other. Natalie confesses her reasons behind her tattoos, that she is a professional photographer of bedroom scenes and sensual nudes and the unveiling truth that the man she is falling in love with is an actor and not just any actor, but one of the most infamous men in the world. Natalie at first wonders why this incredibly sweet and sexy actor would see anything in her plump self.
Now Luke is one of those heroes, that you literally want to swoon over and one of those heroes you would want to marry because he is so loyal and true and sexy. I love how once he meets Natalie, he wants her forever. He doesn’t bat an eye in realizing he has found the “real” thing and fights for her in such a beautiful way and I fell in love with his ways of proving to Natalie how devoted he is to her and boy does he get mad when she judges herself negatively and I LOVE that.
I’ve fallen in love with a beautiful, sexy, sweet, jealous control freak. Shit.
We get an introduction to Natalie’s adopted family that has filled that empty void she felt when her folks passed. And then we get the whole meet Jake’s family, who are so down to earth and kind except for the really overprotective sister and boy does Natalie put her in her place. I do love a sweet heroine that can fight her own battles when needed.
I have to say that I am hooked on this author and my only complaint about this book was the narration. I like the voice well enough, but I really don’t care for the way she handles male voices, they just rub me wrong but everything else was pretty great. Also another downer to the story was I felt that there were too many sex scenes at times and that is the only aspect I would really change from this sweet romance I fell hard for!!
