Best Winter Reads of 2021-2022

So as the weather starts to warm up, and spring enters into our perception, its always a good time to reflect on the reads of the previous season. This past winter was a whirlwind of reading for me. Now for me I consider the winter months to be December-Halfway through February and I know how late I am on as I had intended to do this in March, but there were other happenings occurring which is why this post is coming so late to you all as I do like to do this on a regular basis for any that have been around for a while. I don’t know about you, but my winter reading was actually pretty solid and I discovered some amazing reads.

I absolutely adored this one here, and it was one of those surprise releases as Bittner has gone self-published. This was the finale for Jake and Randy before she moves to the family members. This gave me all the feels and emotions and loved what she gave my favorite pair. (and yes you heard that right, this is my favorite romantic couple of all time) and those who have read Jake and Randy’s story understand why that it.

This book was even better than the first two books for me. I have loved seeing the growth in her writing and this series is the epitome of the best she has ever done. I love a great mafia romance, but this book just won my heart so quickly. I just wanted to cheer these on so much. And its a great kidnapping story.

This is such an epic story and I just fell so quickly for this pairing here. I simply adored what we get with this couple here. And just seeing how well they balance each other out, in the end, was superb. I also loved seeing them be two artists in a dark and edgy world. And it was also the first five-star read I have had from this author, and it just became such a win for me.

This is such a unique and different story that I wasn’t expecting from this author. I really respect that she was willing to write this type of story as I have never read a romance that features a sadist hero and it just really works and there was so much depth to it. There is something so unique to what Feehan did with Savage Road so it’s not surprising it made such an impression.

I have heard about the magic of Beth Kerry for years but this is the first time that I picked her up. I found this treasure at B&N years ago, and it was literally on my shelf for so long and it was such a beautiful story. We just don’t get erotic romance written like this anymore, there was just a classy feel to it with deeply layered facets.

This is part of a trilogy and I just adored everything that we got with this one here. Lisa Renee Jones is one of those authors that I can rely on to always be able to get into. Her writing is so addictive, with levels of suspense and intense connection and writes unique characters that you don’t normally see in romance. I just adored the violinist theme with a edgy feel to it.

I have always been a fan of gothic romance but its so rare in the genre actually. But I loved what Kristen Ashley handled this one and I was so immersed in this story and seeing ghosts in this romance was such a fun time and I adored the gothic victorian like vibe.

This is a true classic romantic suspense/thriller and I read this for the first time and even though it wasn’t quite a five star read, I absolutely had a blast with this and I understand why it makes all the top lists. There was such mystery and danger but balanced out with fun bantering.

I was really surprised by this one here, this is the first trilogy that this author has ever written and it was so dang good. I was shocked by how well it was written and it just grabbed me from the beginning. Probably my favorite group of books from this author to date.

I actually didn’t think that Feehan could write a book better than any of the previous ones in the series, but I adored this one so much. It had a level of fierce love and devotion that just won my heart so quickly. I never wanted this one to end and Feehan definitely wrote a beautiful story here.

This was my first hook retelling romance that I have read and I can say that I absolutely adored this one here. It’s definitely a dark romance, but so well captured and had the type of angst that surprisingly worked out so well for me.

This book was beyond swoon-worthy, I absolutely adored what we got with this book here. It was just a swoony romance and there is a certain talent that Melissa Foster has with captivating those special moments and had me in my feels!

I’m not sure I’ve ever read romances like these (I’ll admit, I’m drawn to lighter, fluffier contemporary romance) but some of them sound really interesting! I may have to pick a few up just to see what I think!

You remind me that I need to grab the latest Rosanne Bittner and get busy on Melissa Foster’s books. I love looking back and wondering when I can fit in a re-read on the really good ones. 🙂

I didn’t read a lot during winter… kinda a slump and being forced to read books I didn’t care about. But I recently read The Good Girls Guide to Rakes and enjoyed it so much!!!! Also I’ve been wanting to read Running on Diesel for a while!
