A couture wedding dress designer to the rich and famous, Lexi LaCroix’s image means everything. But crossing paths with a sexier-than-sin, bad-boy biker makes Lexi realize how much living she’s sacrificed for her success and one touch is all it takes to threaten her carefully choreographed life. When that touch fills far more than just Lexi’s physical needs, she finds herself torn between the career she needs and the bad-boy she craves.

Jax Chamberlin gave up the superficial life of acting for the thrill of running his own stunt company years ago. But a recent betrayal proves he’s still too close to the limelight to find a woman who doesn’t plan to use him as a stepping-stone to success. When the charming and mysterious Lexi offers him a totally anonymous hook-up during an out of town trip, Jax accepts. Only Lexi is more sextacular than charming, and Jax wants more.

But Lexi’s got a major hang-up over his renegade lifestyle, and Jax isn’t willing to change his ways. Especially not when he discovers who she really is. Because if she finds out his connections could catapult her to the top of her career, he’s afraid the fantasy woman he’s falling for might just end up like all the other gold-diggers. And this time, it’s not just his bad-boy reputation at risk, but his heart, too.

Reckless is the first book that I have read from this author, I have had my eye on this book for quite some time and I had heard some great things about it so when I noticed it was part of the Audible Romance Package, I decided to grab it up and I am always up for trying out a new narrator (who was wonderful).

The story begins when Lexi LaCroix is working on advancing her dreams. She is a dressmaker and designer, and has a very unique style that has attracted some pretty famous people in the country. And she has attracted the attention of a prestige design firm in New York. While waiting for her flight at the airport, she finds herself attracted to a man who has this edgy biker look that appeals to her in every way. But she has had issues in the past of men only wanting her for her looks and not looking at who she is underneath. So, with his agreement, they have a sexy fling in New York, in the dark. Lexi feels a strong connection to Jax, a connection she has never felt before but she fears what he could do to her “image” and leaves him. But weeks later, when he contacts her on an impulse, she can’t resist replying to him and decides to take a chance and a risk on Jax and what they could become….but will Lexi let her dream be her priority or the love she has for Jax…

“I don’t have to see you,” he said, his own breathes fast now, “to know how fucking beautiful you are.”

I will be honest that at first I really REALLY struggled with the heroine. Jax is such a honorable character and is pretty much honest with her especially in how much he wants her in his life. But Lexi makes some pretty foolish decisions about Jax and about the design firm. I loved seeing her best friend put her in her place, and helped her realize how talented she is and not to let a big design firm overrule who she really is and her dreams including dictating the type of men she can be in a relationship with. Once Lexi realizes her mistakes and tries to make amends with Jax….I learned to really like her. And not only that, but seeing her realize her potential and how her designs are so unique and worth not giving up on was a very pivotal moment in the story.

“Want? Yes, she whispered, her eyes sliding closed. Yes I want to keep you more than I want to breathe.”

Jax has had to live with his own heartbreak, he was once a famous actor, but now is a stuntman. He has had countless women use him over and over and has never had a relationship with a woman where he wasn’t betrayed. And Lexi is the first woman who truly “sees” him as the man he is and doesn’t try to use him like that. I grew to admire this pair especially when they really come together in the relationship. Despite my beginning reservations (which I almost marked this book as a DNF) I grew to admire this story and didn’t want to put it down. Its a story that only gets better with each chapter. The romance that develops between the story is sexy and so so SENSUAL…the love scenes are so well written.

Christ, the way he moved. He made her see stars. He didn’t thrust. He rocked. Undulated. Varied pressure. Moved her hips to his strokes. Like a dance. The same way he kissed. This wasn’t a fuck. It was an art.

I really loved the way their romance was developed and seeing them realize how right they are for each other. Neither of them have been treated right in the past in relationships, and they really connect on a intellectual and emotional levels just as much as sexually. And we get some fun side characters that I can’t wait to get their stories. I loved the men that works for Jax and of course, we have Lexi’s best friend who is sassy and fun.

Overall I found this story to be a endearing and sexy as sin read with characters that will pull you in and not let go!! UNFORGETTABLE!!
