four-stars

Scarlett is always the sensible one: The sober driver. The planner. The one holding your hair back while you're worshiping the porcelain gods.

Week-after-week, she visits Jock Row with her friends—the universities hottest party scene and breeding ground for student athletes. And if keeping her friends out of trouble, and guys out of their pants, was a sport, she'd be the star athlete.

Being a well known jock-blocker gets her noticed for all the wrong reasons; just like that, she's banned from Jock Row. NO GUY WANTS A GIRL AROUND WHO KEEPS THEIR JOCK FRIENDS FROM GETTING LAID.

"Rowdy" Wade is the hot shot short-stop for the universities baseball team—and the unlucky bastard who drew the short straw: keep little Miss Goody Two-Shoes out of the Baseball House.

But week-after-week Scarlett returns, determined to get inside.

In this story is a new adult sports romance where our hero is a baseball player. Not a super common sport that we see in romance but I will point out that this story is not super focused on the sport itself. So it’s really sport lite and the primary focus of the story is the romance between the two characters. This is my first time reading this author and for my first time into a new author I have to say that I was impressed with how much I found myself engaged into this story here. Way more than I was honestly expecting especially at the beginning which started out a bit slow but it does pick up pretty quickly after a few chapter so you definitely want to stick with this book for sure.

I won’t say that this story is super spectacular but quite a fun filled ride that this author takes us on. Scarlett is very sensible. Out of all of her friends she isn’t looking for casual sex or do get herself drunk on the weekends. She is recovering from a cold and goes out with her friends but doesn’t look the part like her girlfriends do. When she arrives to the party which is the home for the baseball team and their groupies of sorts. When she arrives she is put out on the porch because she is ruining the fun with the flirting games between some of the players and her girlfriends. But she finds herself stuck on the porch with the leader of the team, Rowdy Wade. Rowdy and Scarlett begin their story with lots of flirting and enjoy each other on the front porch and week after week they meet up around the same time and soon they begin to fall hard for each other as their friendship turns into something deeper.

This story was simply wonderful and I had so many laughs while reading this book here. This author really knows how to get a reaction out of me and I adore this friends to lovers trope because with each step into the relationship we see the devotion these two have for each other and how much they truly care about each other and it’s definitely more of a slow burn relationship but I really love seeing the sexual chemistry being built up. I also never expected for this book to charm me so well. This story definitely turned out much different than I expected, in a good way. This is SO not a complaint. I was in the mood for a sweet endearing story and this book really fit the bill. I had a blast with the cruise scene and seeing Rowdy’s relationship with his parents and most especially his mother, she was such a hoot. I can’t wait to explore more of this authors writing because I fell in love with her style here.

Overall I can’t recommend Jock Row enough, it’s a story of sweet friendship, endearing flirtation and depths when you least expect it ….truly a win of a read here
