Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.

And that his best friend has a crush on me.

And that I just moved in with them.

Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?

He knows where to find me.

Chase is the first book in the Briar U series which is an extension of the “Off Campus” series. I LOVE the Off Campus series which is based off of a college hockey team, this book is a new adult romance with a HFN ending. This is not my favorite type of ending, but we see this on a regular basis with New Adult romances but Elle Kennedy is one of the best in writing in this genre and I just loved this book so much especially since it features a nerdy hockey player which I love those nerdy hero types so this book really worked for me.

Our story begins when our heroine, Summer who has recently joined Briar U after a bit of a disaster occured at her last school and there was a fire involved and now she has transferred here but when the sorority of Briar U refuses to let her join them, her brother Dean, gives her a place to live with some of his previous playmates of the Briar U hockey team. Summer is determined to get her degree in fashion and to succeed even with three male roommates including one who is sexy as sin: Colin Fitzgerald, Colin plays hockey on the Briar U hockey team, but is a nerd, he plays video games and is in the process of designing his own games and trying to find a job with a highly respected gaming team. Colin is attracted to Summer, but he fears that they are way too different to make anything work. Even though his roommate has a thing for Summer, he can’t resist the chemistry with Summer and soon they develop a relationship and even though they are very different from each other, a love develops between them…

The Chase was such a fun and vibrant romance and I had so much fun with this story. I can’t even tell you how much fun I had with this one here. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this one here especially with the heroine, since at first she has the appearance of being spoiled and rich however, I found myself relating to her in the little ways and she had such energy and was so fun and her character made me want to just let go much more. She doesn’t let much get her down. Our hero is dreamy and sexy and boy I can see why Summer fell in love with him too. He is more reserved, and more of a gamma hero than what we normally see from Elle Kennedy but I loved his personality. He is a gamer, but also plays hockey (really well too) and he is beyond sexy when you least expect him to be, and boy once he hits the bedroom…he sets the sheets on fire.

Overall I found The Chase to be a titilating read that engages the reader immediately and gives you a entertaining lively romance to remember!!!

A sexy standalone novel from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy. THE RISK takes you back to the world of hot hockey players, feisty heroines, bro banter, and steamy scenes...

Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right—I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team.

And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel—I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me.

I need Connelly to be my fake boyfriend.

For every fake date…he wants a real one.

Which means this bad girl is in big trouble. Nothing good can come from sneaking around with Jake Connelly. My father would kill me, my friends will revolt, and my post-college career is on the line. But while it’s getting harder and harder to resist Jake’s oozing sex appeal and cocky grin, I refuse to fall for him.

That’s the one risk I’m not willing to take.

The Risk is the second book in the series, and as soon as I had finished “The Chase” I just knew I had to snatch this book up since we saw a teaser at the end of book one that shows the chemistry between our hero and heroine of the Risk. And I love a good rivalry romance especially in New Adult. I live in a rivalry area so I always get a hoot out of it, and I was very curious to see how Elle Kennedy could handle a rivalry romance. And even though its not my favorite set up, I thought it was pretty well done.

Brenna and Jake are both part of rivalry schools. Brenna’s father is the coach for the Briar U hockey team and Jake is the team captain for their rivals. Jake is determined to beat Briar U this year and make it to the championship, but there is one big problem….he has the hots for Brenna. At first they are at odds with each other, which is normal because Brenna lives and breathes hockey, but there is a sizzling attraction between these two. But then something more develops between them and they keep their relationship a secret but soon they realize that the secret of their relationship is going to come out to their family and friends and boy the consequences will be disastrous.

I had such a fun time with this book, it was so delightful and I had a blast seeing these two rivals fall in love with each other and take the risk in each other. They are both determined and serious minded but when they get together sparks fly between them. I really had a fun time with the bantering that develops between them. And I love the forbidden love trope that we see and I enjoyed the ways they got around to being together in secret….they did get a bit secretive. The heroine though I adored, and I love Brenna much more in this book. I love how she is so determined to make her dreams come true even if the field she wants to go in will have her work with male misgynistic jerks but I love that she stays true to what she wants to do and doesn’t let people get in the way of it.

The romance that develops between these two is endearing and we see the dynamics and trials in their relationship as they try to make their relationship work despite the challenges that they face. Overall I found The Risk to be a sexy, humor filled romance that brings energy to the reader! DELIGHTFUL IN EVERY WAY!
