There are all kinds of surprises under the mistletoe!
As a protector of all jaguar-kind, Guardian agent Demetria MacFarlane isn’t surprised to get a call near Christmas—but when she’s sent to protect a cub whose species she didn’t even know existed, her holiday season gets complicated. And it doesn’t help that her partner is a distraction of the hottest kind.
Hotshot JAG agent Everett Anderson can handle dangerous poachers and wildlife traffickers, no problem…but kids? Everett fears he’ll be stuck cub-sitting under the Christmas tree, but working with one sexy Guardian she-cat may be the best present he’s ever gotten.
This author is one that seems to always work for me and I had had a blast with her Jaguar series. But this book has a mix of Christmas cheer and bringing the two worlds of Jaguar and Wolf shifters together in a way that I have never imagined from Spear. I have wanted to see this happen, but didn’t think that Terry Spear would ever actually do it. So I was delightfully surprised to see an element to the story that I have wanted ever since she started her Wolf and Jaguar books! The romance that develops in this book is a bit of unrequited love. Both Everett and Demetria has had a connection for a long time but never acted on it because Demetria was in a relationship with Everett’s best friend Matt. But then he died on a mission and now its been a year and Everett and Demetria are to work together on a mission when they find a arctic wolf cub who is a shifter and try to locate his parents.
There were so many fun elements to this story and one of my favorites was seeing Everett and Demetria really connect together and be together after they have wanted it for so long. They are true mates and seeing them play together, their sexual bond grow and seeing their relationship deepen as they also connect with the four year old boy they are trying to return to his parents. There were quite a few feels that are reached out to the reader and we do get some fun holiday cheer that added a light element to balance out the story. I truly adored seeing this story come together and had some fun dynamics and I am eager to see with this author comes up with next. A story of delight, holiday cheer and romantic charm!!
