The fifth book in the New York Times new adult series that began with Real. When an angry, heartbroken girl is forced to be near her rocker ex-boyfriend, only time will tell if the fire between them will consume them both.

Pandora, the gothic friend of Brooke (Real, Mine, Remy) and Melanie, thought that getting her heart broken by her bad boy rocker ex could only happen once. But now, he's back in town with the biggest concert of the year. Pandora hates him so much that she gets Melanie to come with her and play a prank on him at his gig. But when they are caught by security, and her ex himself is summoned, he decides not to press charges if she'll follow certain conditions. Pandora likes none of his rules, or that he's in charge of her, especially since they seem designed to make sure she's in close contact with him again. But the closeness reignites the passion they once shared, and soon no matter how much she wants to hate him, it's clear she's still hung up on him. And worse: he knows it too.

Ripped is the fifth book in the Real series and I have been meaning to get to this book in like forever, ever since I first discovered this power packed series. Now I will say that this book is my least favorite of the series, not to say that I regret reading it because I don’t but the angst in this story was so NOT for me. I don’t mind some good angst in a romance, but the first half of the book it was so hateful at times and I had a hard time with it. So much that I became angry and yes hid in my room because I didn’t want to take my anger out on anyone. Rarely does a story ever effect me like that. You can see both sides though, and the real problem between these two is their lack of honest communication.

This is a second chance romance. They met in high school and became a real thing, but then a third factor meddled and caused the seperation but neither the hero or heroine realize it until later when they begin talking honestly. And then this is where the story really gets so good. Once they both get over their anger and distrust, they begin to feel the true love they once felt for each other and begin to trust in one another. This story does pack an emotional punch though and I was over the moon in love with them by the end, so Katy Evans definitely worked her magic in weaving a story that I hated at first which turned into love and admiration.

I will say that I wasn’t a big fan of the ending because we are left with a teaser there that I would have liked resolved.

I found Ripped to be a rock star romance to rock your world in ways you can’t imagine. Its unpredictable, angsty feisty love that is worth fighting for!!  A KEEPER!

Maverick “the Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he's known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He's got a personal score to settle with the Underground's one and only Remington "Riptide" Tate.

As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town--and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she's none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who's supposed to root against him and a girl he's supposed to stay away from.

But Maverick fights for the woman in his heart, and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion; the ultimate LEGEND.

Legend is a book that I have been anxious for in quite a while, and I had no clue we would get some much fun interaction with Remy and Brooke and their little boy Racer in this book. The heroine is Brooke’s cousin and the hero is a underground MMA fighter Maverick “The Cage” Avenger. This was one of the most emotionally provoking book since Real.

This story begins with Maverick searching for a way to prove himself. His father is dying in the hospital and all that he left him was his fighting gloves. His mother didn’t approve of him becoming a fighter, because his father was once a good man but the fighting twisted him into something not so good. But Maverick knows that fighting is in his blood and wants a chance to be somebody. But as he tries to find his way he meets a girl, Reece Dumas, who is kind and beautiful and gives him tips and helps him when no one does. Their relationship begins slowly but soon chemistry explodes and love begins to form. Reece is Brooke’s cousin and is taking care of their son Racer while Remy does his last season of fighting. But Reece and Mav’s love will be tested and proved….

I absolutely had a blast with this book and time just flew by while reading it. There were many fun factors in this book. The first was the most unexpected, the friendship between Remy and Maverick. Remy sees something in Maverick, he sees himself in this young man and he reaches out to help him train. He knows that Maverick is the son of his greatest enemy and the man who almost destroyed him and his wife. But he knows that Maverick is a lot more than his father. He sees a man who is more than worthy to be his opponet in the ring.

The romance that develops between Maverick and Reece is so tender and poignant that there were times when I just wanted to cry because their quiet moments together were so heart achingly sweet and so romantic. I love the depth of their bond to each other and they just connect. They understand each other and support one another in the most vital ways. It was so beautiful seeing their love blossom and grow in this book. Their story sweeps you up in powerful emotion that the reader doesn’t want to let go of.

The ending was PURE PERFECTION….it was intense and vital to the story and keeps you on edge in suspense and seeing Remy and Maverick have their fight and prove themselves and see their friendship explode was truly magnificent.

This book will devastate, instill powerful emotions and make you fall head over heels in love with Maverick and Reece’s love tale!!
