Part of a small demon lair in North Las Vegas, tattooist Harper Wallis lives a pretty simple life. That changes overnight when she discovers that her psychic mate, or ‘anchor’, is a guy who’s rumored to be the most powerful demon in existence. Compelling, full of secrets and armed with raw sexuality, Knox Thorne is determined to claim her as his anchor, creating a psychic bond that will prevent their inner demons from ever turning rogue. The billionaire also wants Harper in his bed. She’s not so sure she wants either of those things. No one seems to know what breed of demon Knox is, only that he’s more dangerous than anything she’s ever before encountered. But he refuses to walk away. And when an unknown danger starts closing in on Harper, it seems that Knox is the only one who can keep her safe.

As Prime of his Las Vegas lair and a successful businessman, Knox Thorne is used to being in control. He’s also used to people fearing and obeying him. Harper does neither, which unexpectedly amuses him. Unpredictable, elusive, and complex, she draws Knox and his inner demon like nothing ever has. Knox is used to getting what he wants, and he wants Harper. He’ll have her, and he’ll keep her safe from the threat that looms over her. Because Knox protects what’s his. He won’t allow anyone to take her from him. Even if it will mean letting the demon inside him rise and wreak the havoc it was created to make.

Burn is the first book in the Dark In You series and somehow I didn’t even know about this series!! I know I am a crazy person but seriously I am really remiss….the moment I discovered this series I knew that I needed this book in my life. Its a four book series that focuses on one couple: Knox and Harper. I LOVE series that surround just one couple, its not very common so I just gravitate towards them. Now this series is a bit different from her shifter series “Phoenix and Mercury Pack” series. This series revolves around a world of demonkind and my goodness the world building is stunning. I just fell in love with this world that Suzanne Wright has created for her readers and I might even like this series more than her shifter books *gasp* I know I know…crazy talk but seriously these books were so so good and I couldn’t put them down, I read four books in three days because they were so dang good.

Burn, the first book in the series, begins with our heroine. Harper Wallis, is a tattooist and runs her own shop with a few friends. Harper has always had a fascination with art and is very talented and working in a tattoo shop is the perfect environment for Harper to explore her talent and give back in a small way. She is a member of a small demon lair in north Las Vegas. She loves her simple way of life and doesn’t look for complications, but a very BIG one is about to enter her life. While going out with her cousins and friends to an underground championship of battle between demons, her cousin is going to compete. But then their nemesis who will be battling with Harper’s cousin has her attacked and now she is unable to compete. So Harper has to step in as the challenger. Harper isn’t one to show her battle skills in an arena but she is more than willing to do so now considering what happened to a member of her family. Needless to say she conquers easily since she has certain abilities that very few know about. But then after the battle, she is called into Knox Thorne’s office. Knox Thorne is the prime of the Las Vegas Lairs and one of the most powerful and influential demons in the United States and no one dares cross him.

I don’t just call on the flames of hell, Harper. I am the flames of hell

What Harper doesn’t count on is that after meeting Knox Thorne for the first time, they both learn that they are each other’s anchors. Now anchors are pretty important. Every demon kind has an inner demon that can be hard to control and some demons can go rogue if their inner demons is uncontrollable but an achorbrings balance to that control and is needed to survive in most cases. And now Harper is Knox Thorne’s anchor but there is much more to it than that…there is a sexual need that develops between Harper and Knox. At first Knox just believe his demon is fascinated with a new toy and will soon get bored with Harper just like he has with all the previous affairs that Knox has been in over the years. There has never been one woman who his demon has wanted to be with but Harper isn’t like any woman he has ever been with. She is unexpected, always surprsing him…making him laugh in the most odd moments of the day and his demon continues to be even more fascinated and intrigued with each day passing and even more possessive.

Brace yourself, because I’m going to annoy you, ignore you, and surprise you for as long as we both shall live.” He smiled. “And I’m going to spoil you, fuck you, and – of course – order you around for the rest of our lives.

Harper at first doesn’t know how to handle a man like Knox Thorne, his life is so opposite from her simple one. She knows that she will never be fully accepted in his world though. She is a phoenix but was raised by imps when her mother gave her up for adoption and her grandmother forced her birth father to care for her who just took her on his travels but in the end she ended up taking care of him. It was really her grandmother that showed her any true love and affection and loyalty. She doesn’t trust Knox to not break her heart since she has been disappointed by so many in her life and relies on herself and her small imp family.

But even though Knox doesn’t know what this relationship will turn out to be with Harper, he knows he has to take the risk on Harper because she is worth it to him. He has never been with a woman like her and is sexually intune with her but also fascinated with her on an intellectual level as well. But there is a threat to Harper and neither Knox or his demon will allow any harm to come to their….mate.

I found Burn to be such a thrilling, on the edge of your seat, laugh out loud fun and sexy story that will give you the satisfaction you look for in a power packed romance such as this one!! Not a story you want to miss out on…I guarantee it. GRATIFYING IN EVERY WAY

Defeat the enemy. Win the boy. Live happily ever after. But life "ever after" isn't as easy as it used to be. Harper's gone from being a member of a small demon lair to co-Prime of one of the most powerful lairs in the US with a mate who, though hot as hell, is just a mite overprotective - I mean, you get kidnapped by dark practitioners just once ...

Then one of Knox's demons goes rogue, and in his madness decides Knox Thorne must die. Harper's worried. Knox isn't - at least until he discovers his mate's willingness to get between him and danger.

Now, Knox has a new priority: Keep Harper safe ...no matter what it takes. But Harper begins to suspect there's more danger than one rogue demon. It seems the combined strength of Harper and Knox has upset the balance of power in the demon world and there are those who are determined to right that wrong. Because when you move up the food chain, sometimes the other predators just want to take a bigger bite.

Blaze is the second book in the Burn For You series. Now you would think that this would be Harper and Knox’s happy ever after right? They defeated their enemy, Harper won her boy and now its live happily ever after….well it doesn’t always work out that way and Knox and Harper are going to be in the fight for their lives. Harper’s life has just become even more complicated. What was once a very simple life has grown into being a co prime in one of the largest and powerful lairs and it doesn’t help that her mate is way overprotective.

In Blaze Harper and Knox are living in their happy ever after….learning each other and living life together and having some hot crazy sex of course. But when one of Knox’s demons goes dangerously rogue who wants to destroy Knox and Harper because he fears them having a child together and what that child would become. So Knox and Harper are searching for him and it doesn’t help that the rogue has kidnapped Harper’s birth mother and some members of her step family blame her for it. Even though Knox is becoming even more overprotective with his demon riding him hard on it, what he doesn’t realize is that he and Harper will have to work together to defeat their enemy.

I found this book to be such a vibrant continuation of the first book “Burn”. I love their interactions including some fun ones from the Wallis family and LUCIFER!! Now seriously Lucifer is not what you would expect…he suffers OCD, is crazy funny and sweet sometimes and not as bad boy as you would expect at times. I love seeing Knox and Harper battle it out in the iron wills and of course the bedroom. Some of their sex scenes are crazy HOT!! So just to warn you, I do believe that this series is probably the steamier of all of her books that I have read so far. I think all I need to say is “Psychic fingers” and your ovaries might explode hehe But no I love seeing their relationship just grow and become stronger and seeing them learn some valuable lessons in honesty and relying on each other’s strengths.

“Just because you’re, like, super powerful doesn’t mean people shouldn’t defend you.” But he was looking at her like she was a cute harmless little bunny that was obviously on drugs. She sighed. “You’re still not fearing my mighty wrath.”
“I’m trying.”
“One day I will unleash it and you will flee in terror. Why are you laughing? It’s only the truth. A sphinx in full-on berserker-mode can wreak major destruction and instill fear into the hearts of all who…
stop laughing!”

Now I will say that one thing I have really loved about these books so far is the surprises!! I never know who the true villain will turn out to be and the one in Blaze is someone I didn’t expect AT ALL!! I mean I was shocked, fell off my seat type of shocker so that earns Suzanne Wright with many brownie points in my book. I love a story that will shock me and she did great work in doing that because the villain is the last person you would expect it to be. This is also the book where we learn about the four horseman whose plan is to bring down the primes so that they can have control over the demon in the U.S and bring chaos and feed their thirst for power.

I do say that you NEED to read these books in order though to get the full grasp of the full story going on. Of course, Suzanne Wright does a decent job in giving the reader background information on what has occured previously, but I do think its prudent to read these books in order, you can thank me for it later *xoxo*

Overall  I found Blaze to be a vibrant and full of life and spice romance with danger and intrigue to be revealed and a growth of the relationship between Knox and Harper that will knock your socks off!!

Knox and Harper's story continues as the Las Vegas lair - and its two infamous Co-Primes - face their most terrifying enemy yet . . .

Together, Harper and Knox have overcome just about every evil thing you can think of - from Horsemen of the Apocalypse to dark magic practitioners to Lucifer's insistent belief that he's hilarious. They're looking forward to some well-earned downtime - until Harper is attacked by mercenaries in the middle of her tattoo shop. Worse still, the attackers are trying to take her wings - the ones no one is meant to know she even has.

It's a near miss and once a furious Knox has managed to pull his demon back into line there's only one thing clear - someone knows Harper's secrets and is systematically setting out to destroy her. It seems likely that someone is the third Horseman - but how do they know so much about Harper? It seems the impossible might be true - they have an enemy hiding at the very heart of the lair.

To survive Harper will need to embrace power that's darker than she's ever experienced and even Knox can't protect her from everything - though God knows nothing's going to stop him trying. The stakes have never been higher, for if Harper's taken by this new threat, Knox won't be able to stop his demon from taking a vicious pleasure in tearing the world apart . . .

In the third book in the series, Knox and Harper’s story continues with some delights, some action and some fun hot smexy times!! So if you enjoyed Burn and Blaze than you will have a fun time with Ashes. This review will be a bit shorter than the previous ones because I don’t want to risk revealing too much that will give spoilers.

But I did have a blast with Ashes, it was simply a phenomenal read and so well done!! I loved seeing Harper and Knox come alive once again and seeing their relationship grow and become stronger. We see them face some new enemies, a certain blessing will happen to them and they will become an even stronger kick ass team together. We see how well they work together even if they are apart from each other. We see the true power of their inner demons and seeing them become even better and the ending…SO sweet and tender

Ashes was such a powerfully provoking story that just makes you fall in love with Knox and Harper even more and seeing them face some challenges that they never see coming and how well they handle it “grace under pressure” is all I can say because this book was everything I was hoping for and more. FABULOUS!!
