A dark and edgy romance that will appeal to fans of erotic and turbulent relationships . . .

In the near future, the Krinar rule the Earth. An advanced race from another galaxy, they are still a mystery to us – and we are completely at their mercy.

Shy and innocent, Mia Stalis is a college student in New York City who has led a very normal life. Like most people, she’s never had any interactions with the invaders – until one fateful day in the park changes everything. Having caught Korum’s eye, she must now contend with a powerful, dangerously seductive Krinar who wants to possess her and will stop at nothing to make her his own.

How far would you go to regain your freedom? How much would you sacrifice to help your people? What choice will you make when you begin to fall for your enemy?

Close Liaisons is the first book in this thrilling and edgy sci fi series by Anna Zaires. I haven’t read this author before, but when I received a high recommendation from “Bookish @ Bookish Creation ” , I just knew that I needed to give this book a try out especially since I do like dark romance, sci fi romance and sexy aliens. I never know if I will like a dark romance unless I have read the author before, because this sub genre in romance is really tough to read at times but I fell in love with this series. I loved these three books that focus around this couple. I also feel that if you like this genre you will enjoy this one. It is a bit lighter than other dark romances that I have read in the past, so I recommend this one to those that either enjoy the Sci Fi Romance sub genre and also like the more edgy dark romances. It doesn’t push the boundaries too much, but it is there. However, this book really worked for me and the writing style was highly engaging and really tugs the reader into the story very quickly.

It begins when humans realize that they aren’t alone in the universe, when aliens from another world The Krinar, that are very similar to them in ways seek a home on earth to share with them but also are in command of Earth and no one dares to cross them because they are more powerful. Our heroine, Mia Stalis, has come to New York City to go to the University there and get her degree. Mia is shy but is really confused when she draws the attention of a powerful K, while sitting on a bench in the park. Mia can’t understand why a Krinar would be so intrigued by her or would want to be with her. She has never considered herself gorgeous or a woman who stands out from the crowd but somehow has appealed to Korum. Korum is one of the leaders of the Krinar settling on Earth. He is highly intelligent, handsome yet scary at first glance. But then Mia is pulled into a plot to defeat the Krinar, and she is having mixed feelings over what the renegades have told her about the Krinar including the man she is starting to love or to trust in the Krinar she is coming to know and what will he do when he finds out the truth about her deception and betrayal.

From the moment I saw you, I knew that I wanted you – more than anyone I’ve ever wanted in a very long time. And I grew to care about you, even though I knew it was foolish. With time, I hoped that you would feel the same way about me, that if I showed you how good it could be between us, you would realize what you were doing, the mistake that you were making. And you were close, I know..

I really adored this pair together. Korum is definitely my type of hero, especially in a dark romance. He is commanding, domineering and highly sexual and very intelligent. This hero is SUPER smart, and that is so sexy in a hero. I found Mia at first to be a bit naive at times especially in her dealings with the rebels that are trying to take down the Krinar. She doesn’t really second guess what they tell her and you can feel like there is more going on.

I honestly couldn’t put this story down though, I was so pulled into their story and seeing how it would play out and how Korum would react when he finds the truth about what Mia does. It was really interesting to see their love story develop in the story, there are many highly sensual moments between them. But there was also those sweet swoony moments that just make you sigh. Seeing our hero be so dominating in the bedroom, but out of it, sweet to Mia. I love how he cooks for her or does her laundry….just the simple things that shows his genuine affection for her and that he is in it for the long haul. Even though Mia doubts his true intentions, she doesn’t see how they could be together “long term” and just assumes he is in for it for the sex only. I was really intrigued to see how this author would lay out this story in a way that shows true emotion, highly sensual love scenes that takes your breath away and those romantic swoony moment guaranteed to make the reader ‘sigh’ and a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat and a book that will keep you up late reading it.

If you are a sucker for Science Fiction Romances….I honestly can’t recommend this one enough, I honestly can’t wait to read more of this author because this one really worked for me in every way.

The highly anticipated sequel to Close Liaisons . . .

In Lenkarda – the main Krinar colony on Earth – Mia is completely at Korum's mercy. With no way to leave and no idea how to operate even the most basic Krinar technology, she has no choice but to trust the K who brought her there – the lover whom she had betrayed.

Will he keep his promise to bring her home, or is she destined to be his prisoner forever? Can a human become a part of Krinar society? Does Korum love her, or does he only wish to possess her?

Read on to find out . . .

This is the second book in the series, which features our lovely couple Korum and Mia. It picks off right where book one leaves off. Korum has found out the truth about Mia, and Mia learns that Korum knew about her deception all along. But even though Korum feels betrayed by Mia’s actions, he also loves Mia and refuses to give up on what they have so he takes her with him to Costa Rica, where a village of the Krinar live so he can show her what his people are really like and not what she has been told by others (which are mostly lies). We see the trials and the justice system of the Krinar, we see other Krinar-Human pairings, we also get to meet Mia’s family and how Korum charms them and how much he is willing to do to make her happy. I really loved this book, because in book one was them getting to know each other mostly in a sexual way, and then we have the deception of them both. But in this book is where they start to really “learn” each other in other ways especially intellectually and emotionally.

There was still so much unresolved between them, but in this moment, she couldn’t bring herself to care about the way their relationship had started, about all the mutual lies and betrayals. In this moment, she knew only that she loved him, that every part of her longed to be with him.

There is so much emotion in this book, that I fell really hard for this one here. I mean the emotional intimacy between them is really so pivotal in their relationship. Its the true turning point where we go from hot sex to the real love and swoon moments you look forward to in a classic romance. It was wonderful to see Korum and Mia have such fun together, playing together in the ocean, Korum meeting Mia’s family and winning their hearts because they are important to Mia, so they are important to him as well. To meeting a couple of other couples including one couple (that is featured in a novella in the series that meet in Greece centuries earlier) We also see the true depth of their relationship as they learn to forgive the past actions of each other, and try to make a life together.

The stunning conclusion to the critically acclaimed series that has won thousands of fans!

When a ruthless enemy finally strikes, Mia and Korum will face the biggest test of their relationship yet. But it’s Korum’s own secrets that may ultimately tear them apart.

From the beaches of Costa Rica to a planet in a distant galaxy, theirs is a love story that may change the world . . .

In the Third book of the series, and the final story of Korum and Mia, we have a story where life seems to be working so well for Korum and Mia. They are enjoying their lives together in Costa Rica. The trials have ended and justice has been met….or has it been?? We see another side to the story with a villain, a villain who is fixated on Mia….a fellow Krinar that was never caught and the villain is the last one that you would expect it to be and the reader doesn’t find out who he really is until he is revealed about halfway through the story. This story features a traumatic event where Mia loses her memory and something else….the villain makes her mind more “agreeable” not thinking that she would fall in love again with Korum.

This is a pretty emotional ride and boy it swept through my emotions like wild fire. I honestly couldn’t contain my tears in this book just seeing what Korum and Mia have to go through. Seeing them so happy in the beginning and then having to go through this challenge was pretty heart breaking at times. But Korum and Mia’s realtionship is really strong and their love isn’t something you can just “forget” and seeing them reconnect was pretty powerful.

I enjoy you, Mia–you enhance every moment of my existence. Your smile, your laugh–even your stubbornness–make me happier than I’ve ever been before.

And we get some pretty fun times between these two as well. Mia and her family visit the Krinar homeworld, they meet the elders “Now these elders are millions of years old…so its a big deal considering not many Krinar have met them” and we get to meet Korum’s parents which is a delight and we have a wedding that happens that totally made me cry in the end….happy tears this time. I swear this author can really write an emotional story that gives you all the feels. I never wanted their story to end, Korum and Mia’s story is such an epic….you fall head over heels very quickly and I loved that about this author seeing her write such a heartfelt yet sensual read is powerful and unforgettable. I can’t wait to grab more  of this author because these books won my heart over!!
