Happenings of Week 29 of 2022
This week has been quite interesting, I got plenty of books read even though it doesn’t feel like I read that much when I went on a Hobbit and LOTR binge marathon this week, I was just feeling like I wanted to binge on those. But my reading has been pretty good with 11 books this week and work has been a solid week. There hasn’t been anything big happening this week, but I do have something fun planned starting in the fall and as soon as I get everything organized, I will be sharing it and I can’t wait to see if people want to participate in this! I think its going to be really fun! So keep a lookout for that reveal.
Bookish Posts & Books Read of Week July 10 through July 16
(All my books read and their reviews are on Goodreads)
Books Read-Empire Nightclub Series by K.A. Tucker—Yes I binged the whole series here and it was superb. If you are fans of edgy contemporary and dark romance, then you definitely need to look into these books, they were so addictive and fabulous!
Book Read-Chalet by Tara Sue Me–This was a short novella, I believe the last story that we get of Nathaniel and Abbey and I am really curious to see what the author delivers in books ahead!
Audio Book Review-Getting Schooled by Christina C. Jones—This was a fabulous book and it was so FUNNY!! I have had this author on my list for ages and I adored this book and I can’t wait for more of her books.
Audio Book Review-Maybe We Won’t by Melissa Foster—This was the BEST of the trilogy and so so good. The hero is so carefree and a bit of a hippie (but in a good way) and really balances out the heroine and loved the character growth and emotion.
Book Read-Whispers in the Dark by Maya Banks—I am continuing on with the KGI series and man I need more suspense in my life because this book was a easy five star read!! I adored it so much I had to jump into the next book.
Book Read-Echoes at Dawn by Maya Banks—This is the continuing story from “Whispers in the Dark” and those who have read the series know why I probably just had to jump into this one and man I am all for the hero, he was yamma yamma-delicious! But that ending….WOWZERS!
Book Read-Logan by Melissa Foster—This book was short and sweet and so fun. I just love a protective hero and Melissa Foster just delivers all the best sexy emotion.
Book Read-Because of You by Jessica Scott-–I have been wanting to read more military romance and these are just perfect. I adored this one and loved seeing the growth in their relationship and the sexual tension was *chefs kiss*

Current Reads
My current Audiobook for the week has been “At The King’s Command” and I have to tell you I am really enjoying it. Its arranged marriage, tudor era and unrequited love. And that narrator is super great. (I personally think male narrators do the best job with HR). Then I continued on with the “Coming Home” series with “Back To You” and this is a marriage in trouble romance military romance and really loving this series so far. I have to get back to these Mythos books and “Ares” is a MMA fighter romance with both the hero and heroine MMA fighters and I haven’t read one of those dynamics in a while. Then we have a cowboy romance with the hero being a bull rider. I am not sure why I have yet to read this series as I have had it on my TBR for years, but finally getting to this rodeo romance.
Book Releases I Am Excited For
(not much this week)
The Trouble with Whiskey by Melissa Foster
Grace Under Fire by Julie Garwood
My Weekly TBR
These are books that I have a rough TBR for! I am not sure if I will be in the mood for them all, but they all are different sub genres so I do hope to get to them all if my mood works with me on this! I do think its good to have a loose tbr even though at times I tend to be a mood reader! I am trying to work towards going half and half so I have more balance in my reading!
Favorite Book of the Week
New Additions to A&R
Night Reigns by Dianne Duvall
To Conquer a Highlander by Mary Wine
Hard to Hold by K. Bromberg
I listened to the Wright Brothers books a while back. Solid series. I always like those family series, and the brothers had a great dynamic. Can’t wait to hear what you’re up to. Hope the planning goes well.
I love the cover of Redemption Bay, and I enjoy Raeanne Thayne. I forgot about Jessica Scott! I really enjoyed her Coming Home series. I need to check out this newer one.
Sounds like you had a pretty great reading week! I read a book from Scott’s Coming Home series years and years ago (like 8 years, maybe?). I enjoyed it but never continued on with the series for whatever reason. I can get picky with military romances. My husband served for 20 years so I tend to pick up on things that would never happen and it pulls me out of the story. lol
I love the KGI series by Maya Banks. It is the penultimate in romantic suspense!
Oh nice! Many books there! happy reading and have a good week
Fun that you got in a Hobbit and LOTR binge. I’ve not read those in years. One of these days I’ll pick up a Melissa Foster book. I’m glad the Christina C Scott book was fun. Love the Jessica Scott series. I have one more novella in that series.
Have a good week, Renee!
You’re going to read Bad for You? I loved that book!
Sounds like a good week and fun with some classics! I look forward to seeing what new feature you have planned. It’s been hot here. I’ve not been reading much, so this week, I’m making an effort to keep the phone off and read more.
