Weekly Recap (Week 18) Working From Home

Happenings of Week 18 of 2022

What a week and we have reached the end of April!! Can you believe that another month is over and a third of the year is complete? Where on earth has the time gone, it feels like yesterday when we were all making our goals for the new year. This past week was quite interesting, I was able to start working from home which I am doing half of the workweek, I still need some social interaction haha so I do plan on going into the office 1-2 times a week. But it’s really nice being able to work from home and wow its so quiet, I never realized how busy and loud the office can be. The weather we have had is still a bit weird, but we are in the ’60-’70s degrees and I got to turn on my A/C for the first time and I loved it. ITs weird how last week we had the heater on haha. There was some drama that happened this past week, involving the cover of the Tessa Bailey book. *sigh* Does the drama ever end in our community??!! But good news a good friend of mine, Jenn @ The Book Refuge is working on being a romance book creator and not having a side day job and to make a career out of it. How many of us would dream of doing this full time and making good money from it. My book reading has been so good this past week, and I read so many GREAT reads!! I definitely was spoiled this past week. And I did manage to get ahead on my goodreads goal as I did get pretty behind with the struggle I had last month and early this month of April in my reading.

Currently Reading

My audiobook for the week will probably be Hunt The Stars—I might switch with the ebook and go back and forth, it depends on the narrator and if I enjoy them. I am finally grabbing up The Simple Wild. This has been on my wishlist for ages, and I was able to get it from the library but it expires soon from Libby so will be reading it here and hope it’s worth the hype. Dark Redemption is the continuation of the Pure/Dark ones. And I am already really into it. My next read will be Broken Vow by Sophie Lark. I am really excited for this one, I hear it’s the best of the series which features a military bodyguard who also happens to be a southern cowboy and a sassy heroine to match.

Book Releases I Am Excited For

Kiss Hard by Nalini Singh

Ruthless Rival by L.J. Shen

When She Dreams by Amanda Quick

This book was so so good!! Well worth the wait, and I loved seeing this enemies-to-lovers arranged marriage be such a winner! This author has become brilliant and this series is flawless!

I am jealous of your hybrid work schedule. The office really is loud too. That’s why I like being in by 7 am before the advisors get in. They are on the phones a lot and talk really loud. My team is quiet. I see you are reading the Simple Wild. Hope it’s a hit for you.

I would LOVE to work from home. I need no social interaction. I think that comes with losing my hearing-it becomes MORE frustrating to be around others.

Does the drama ever end ha ha? I’m gonna say… no? 🙂 And I love working at home.

Ooh I liked the Jessie Mihalik book I read, I still need to finish that series.

drama over a book cover? Unless it’s about a different book, Hook, Line, and Sinker has no controversial aspects. It’s so weird how people like to stir the pot just to cause drama.

I hope the new work format works well for you–seems like the best of both worlds! 🙂 I’ve been working from home since the first lockdown and it’s actually been great in my case. Looks like you’ve had a wonderful reading week/month and are on a roll! I so need to get Brutal Vows. grabby hands

Glad the first week of adding days at home went well and your reading took off for you. Had no idea there was bookcover drama. Yay for scoring an eARC of Ruby Fever and I’m looking forward to When She Dreams, too.

    Have a good week, Renee!

That’s one of my favorite aspects of working from home. The quiet. The lack of distractions and interruptions. I’m in the executive suite and there are just the four of us in here (the CEO, the CFO, the COO, and me) so it’s not loud at all, but there are so many interruptions throughout the day. I tend to get so much more done at home than in the office. I hope you are enjoying The Simple Wild. I adored that book and it’s still one of my top faves from Tucker.
