Weekly Recap (Week 16) Happy Easter & TV Binging

Happenings of Week 16 of 2022

This has been such an interesting week, our weather here has been so bi-polar, I swear I feel all over the place. One day it snows, then it rains, then it’s 70 degrees warm and sunshine and then we have a cold overcast at 35 degrees. Utah weather is a struggle in April. It’s like it can’t decide if it wants to shrug off winter or embrace spring. I love the rain though so I wouldn’t complain if we were receiving lots of rain, I am really ready for warmer temperatures and for everything to blossom. I know I have kinda been out of it, I would like to blame my blood pressure, but honestly, I found a show and binged on it. haha, this is why I don’t keep streaming subscriptions because it’s too much temptation. And it was like I want to read and do blog stuff but I can’t stop watching the show (for those curious, its Walking Dead, and even though Zombies aren’t my thing I was hooked, and yes I have now watched all but the last season, it’s calmer now and I am reading again so there is that). It does feel like I have been waking up from a drugged sleep though which is probably why I don’t binge hardly ever. And now I am behind on my Goodreads reading goal so I have some work to do this week. Work has been pretty good though, nothing really new there, we did move around the office, as they expanded the space, and I like where we are at more now, with much better lighting. I also treated myself to getting my nails done. I like having long nails, but my natural nails will crack off once they get too long and I hate that haha, but I found this really nice clean nail spa with chandeliers and everything, so I found my spot. And they have this soothing music that is just the perfect vibe.

Bookish Posts and Books Read of the Week of April 10-April 16

Book Read-When He’s An Alpha by Suzanne Wright (Review releasing soon) but I will say I enjoy it but it’s a typical Wright shifter book. Is it just me or do they all feel the same at this point?

Current Reads

I am just finishing up The Warrior Maiden and I am really liking this Mulan retelling, its so interesting, although pretty close to the Disney movie. I got What If I never as a freebie, but dang its good and has this sexy elevator scene and the hero is a ex FBI agent turned author. I received Wicked Beauty from Sourcebooks, so I am excited for this one. I found the Mary Jo Putney on a whim from my library subscription, and I read a sample and I was so intrigued and pulled into the story I just had to pick it up.

Mulberry Hollow by Denise Hunter

Gossamer in the Darkness by Kristen Ashley

Meant To Be by Jennifer Probst

This was such a fun road trip adventure-themed fantasy romance. And I loved seeing this world be growing, with a devoted hero and a stubborn princess willing to fight for her kingdom and her man.

That nail bar is so pretty. I would feel totally pampered there. Our weather has been all over the place in NJ, too. We got into the 80s at one point, and today, I had to turn the heat back on. I am ok with it. I can live with 50s.

I binged Only Murders in the Building yesterday. I think because I have so much school work to do, I don’t read as much, but I can binge a show while doing my homework, so there has been more TV in my life lately. I’m WAY behind on my goodreads goal for sure.

Yasssssssssss The Walking Dead!!!!! That series is SO much more than the zombies. It’s all about our group of people and how they live and survive together.

That nail salon is GORGEOUS!!!!! Wow!!!! Like a palace!

The nail bar looks awesome. So relaxing. Long nails are for me, but I do love getting manicures and pedicures.

Look at that nail bar! I wouldn’t want to leave, it’s so glam! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m a diehard Walking Dead (and Fear the Walking Dead) fan so I feel your pain about bingeing it. It’s the one show that if my husband and I don’t keep up with it weekly each season, we will binge what we’ve missed. Looks like you’ve got some solid reading coming up! My fave so far this month has been the second book in Jennifer Estep’s Gargoyle Queen series, Tear Down the Throne. Loved. It. It’s epic fantasy romance with lots of intrigue, double-crossing, and bad blood between royal families. I just love Estep’s writing!

I have never watched Walking Dead. That nail salon looks really nice and fancy! When A Princess Proposes looks like a good read. Have a great week!

It’s been a bit since I’ve binged a show, but I do get the mood and the after effects. Neat that your workplace is spiffing things up and you found a relaxing spa to have some nail time. I’ve seen the insides of three fairly new salons and spas go up in our small town so I guess the discovery of relaxing at the spa has spread. ๐Ÿ™‚
Looks like you added some good physical books to your shelf.

    Have a good week, Renee!

I think that they weather has been crazy just about everywhere. People are wearing shorts one day and pulling winter coats out the next. Hey, I love The Walking Dead so I competely understand the binge. I hope that this week is a good one for you.
