About Kathleen Nance

I can't say that I'm one of those authors who announced to their mother at the age of six that they were going to be a writer. My first declared career choice was detective. I was reading Nancy Drew at the time, and half in love with Ned Nickerson. A distinct aversion to eminent bodily harm, however, made the career choice an impractical one.

The notion I could be a detective, though, came from a book. Books have always been a treasured companion, a source of knowledge, and a means to travel beyond my world and experience since I first discovered The Poky Little Puppy and The Little Engine That Could in Golden books. It wasn't a far hop from a love of reading to a love of creating my own stories as well.

When that practical streak (the one that steered me away from private detection) reared its head, I began a career in pharmacy. An admittedly varied career, for I've worked in just about every field of pharmacy except sales. My years of writing drug monographs, however, strengthened a heartfelt appreciation for the joys of fiction. When I became a stay-at-home mom, it seemed a perfect time to take the stories I'd been spinning and do something about putting the dream of getting published into practice.

I discovered creating characters and plot an irresistible challenge. Especially when it meant I got to live with djinn, elves, and meddling Greek gods. And I got to be the detective, the magician, the chef, the villain, hero, and heroine.

Five manuscripts and six years later, my first book, Wishes Come True, was published in 1998. Since then, my books have won a Golden Heart, a SARA Rising Star Grand Prize, the Holt Medallion, the Colorado Award of Excellence, the PRISM Award, and the National Reader's Choice Award and been a finalist RWA's RITA. After living for eighteen years in New Orleans, I've returned to my birth state of Michigan with a husband, three children, and two cats. Along with learning the ins and outs of empty nesting now that all three kids are in college, a commitment (again) to really sticking with an exercise program, and a home health care variation to the pharmacy career, I still find that creating characters and plot is an irresistible challenge.

Only, in my books, Ned and Nancy are all grown up and falling in love.

Once Upon A Time…In a rustic Mississippi tavern, a beautiful exiled princess was forced to dance for the pleasure of others unaware of her regal birthright…and infuriated by a magnificent golden-eyed devil who crossed an ocean to possess her. From A Far Off Land… A bold and brazen prince came to America to claim his promised bride. But the spirited vixen spurned his affections while inflaming his royal blood with passion’s fire…impelling virile Stefan Barany to take in sensuous and searing conquest the love Tatiana vowed never to yield.

Why Once A Princess?

Despite all of its issues and as its a classic bodice ripper….this book definitely won’t be for everyone but I have such a fondness for this book which was one of my first books from this author here. It gets SUPER crazy of course, but simply love it despite all of the crazy happenings. Plus features a Russian hero and they are my catnip!!

About Johanna Lindsey

Johanna Helen Howard was born on March 10, 1952 in Germany, where her father, Edwin Dennis Howard, a soldier in the U.S. Army was stationed. The family moved about a great deal when she was young. Her father always dreamed of retiring to Hawaii, and after he passed away in 1964 Johanna and her mother settled there to honor him.

In 1970, when she was still in school, she married Ralph Lindsey, becoming a young housewife. The marriage had three children; Alfred, Joseph and Garret, who already have made her a grandmother. After her husband's death, Johanna moved to Maine, New England, to stay near her family.

Johanna Lindsey wrote her first book, Captive Bride in 1977 "on a whim", and the book was a success. By 2006, with over 58 Million copies of her books have been sold worldwide, with translations appearing in 12 languages, Johanna Lindsey is one of the world's most popular authors of historical romance.

Johanna's books span the various eras of history, including books set in the Middle Ages, the American "Old West" and the popular Regency England-Scotland. She has even written a few sci-fi romances. By far the most popular among her books are the stories about the Malory-Anderson Family, a Regency England saga.

My Podcast has officially LAUNCHED!!

Welcome Everyone and I have great news for you, as of today my podcast has LAUNCHED!! This is both nerve wracking and really really exciting. I have no idea where this venture is going to be taking me but I am super excited for this and what the future holds in store.

What Is The Pod?

This podcast is “Steeped In Romance” and yes it will have a tea like theme to it. It took me a while to figure out exactly what I wanted to do for it and took a few episodes before I figured everything out. Episode 3 is where we see the final and full changes that I decided on. The first couple episodes just figuring out what I actually wanted to do.

What is the Podcast About?

Well this podcast will be an extension of this site and a little bit more. At first when I knew I wanted to do a podcast about romance I wanted to deliver something more than what the other podcasts actually deliver and that is what I will be doing. So I will of course every week be doing episodes that feature a weekly book read. Once a month or maybe even twice a month (depending on my mood) I will be re reading a old favorite that I want to feature. The reason for this is that there are many amazing romances out there that I believe are underapperciated and want a way to highlight those as well as the newer released books.

HERE are the segments that I will be doing for it:

Afternoon Tea

This segment will feature just the basics of the story and book details, the synopsis of the story and basic character sketches and the listings of character types and tropes that you will find in the story.

High Tea

In this segment this will be the spoiler section of the episode where I delve deep into the story and what actually happens in the story from beginning to end in my own words.

Cream Tea

This will be the review section and share what I thought about this story overall.

“Proper Cuppa”

This segment is where I will be sharing life lessons that I have learned from the book itself. I truly believe that there are so many elements in the books that we read that we don’t take to heart enough. I want to share what I learn and cover all sorts of issues that can help us be BETTER human beings. The topics can go from relationships, sex, social, and more!! I have no idea where this will actually take me, but I can’t wait for the journey in exploring this segment more with you.

My Inspiration For This Podcast:

There are so many people that have really helped inspire me. My first podcast that I was introduced me was “Smart Podcast Trashy Books” what Sarah Wendell has done with her podcast is truly amazing and was the original source of inspiration for me in this. Also we have the duo at Heaving Bosoms & Learning The Tropes. Many of you who follow this blog, who I have built friendships with and stood by me over the years, I truly couldn’t have been brave enough without you. I truly value your support and love over the months and years. Now I won’t be able to list all the bloggers ( as there is over 100 or so) and I don’t need that long of a post ) that have been there over the past 9 years ( and can you believe it had actually been that long since I started? ) but you know who you are…truly love you all.

And finally I have my podfamily. I truly love all of these podcasters that I have been blessed enough to be a part of. And I hope that you check out these amazing people

Dear Reader,

Nearly a decade ago, I published my first novel with Avon Books, Only in Your Arms. Since then, romance has changed-and so have I—so I decided to give the book a makeover—and a new title, When Strangers Marry. I have two reasons for changing the title. First, it is in keeping with the new spirit of the book; second, no one—including my own mother—found the original one memorable!

In When Strangers Marry, I had a great time rediscovering the story of Maximilien Vallerand and his stolen bride, Lysette. The promise of this handsome, though mysterious, man’s love proves irresistable to her, but she doesn’t know the secrets he hides.

I hope you will enjoy revisiting the Vallerand family, or perhaps meeting them for the first time. And, as always thank you for your support and encouragement, as we escape together into the magical world of romance novels.

Wishing you love and happiness,

Lisa

USA Today bestselling author Lynn Kurland captures the haunting beauty of England, past and presentand the exquisite tenderness of timeless love… In a bleak, landlocked keep on the English moors, Iolanthe MacLeod dreams of the seaand of a darkly handsome man to come rescue her. Centuries have passed and she feels she has waited in vain.

Until now.

Thomas McKinnon is used to attaining impossible heights, both in business and in the mountains he loves. But when the chance to restore a twelfth century castle comes his way, he gamely takes hammer in hand and crosses the Atlantic, expecting to find nothing more interesting inside his new home than cobwebs and weeds.

But in that ancient, crumbling castle, the fierce, restless spirit of a medieval Scottish woman lives ona woman so haunting that he would do anything, go anywhere, risk everything to make her his forever…

Why My Heart Stood Still?

I had such a blast with this book here!! It is lighter in the heat than most romance lovers probably prefer, but the focus of the relationship is primary. It is a story that begins in the modern era where the heroine is a ghost who was murdered in the past. The hero goes back in time to save her. Its a story that is heart felt and romantic and tugs at your emotions. Highly recommend.

About Lynn Kurland

Lynn began her writing career at the tender age of five with a series of illustrated novellas entitled Clinton’s Troubles in which the compelling hero found himself in all sorts of . . . well, trouble. She was living in Hawaii at the time and the scope for her imagination (poisoned fish, tropical cliffs, large spiders) was great and poor Clinton bore the brunt of it. After returning to the mainland, her writing gave way to training in classical music and Clinton, who had been felled with arrows, eaten by fish and sent tumbling off cars, was put aside for operatic heroes in tights.

Somehow during high school, in between bouts of Verdi and Rossini, she managed to find time to submerge herself in equal parts Tolkien, Barbara Cartland and Mad Magazine. During college, a chance encounter with a large library stack of romances left her hooked, gave her the courage to put pen to paper herself, and finally satisfied that need for a little bit of fantasy with a whole lot of romance!

Book Review-Fighting For Everything by Laura Kaye

Fighting For Everything is the first book in a new series by Laura Kaye. I was very intrigued about this book, I was sent this book by the author a while ago, and then totally forgot about it and when i realized I had this, I knew I needed to read this especially since I have been in the mood for a story just like this one. I always get a kick out of Laura Kaye’s book and even though I wouldn’t say that this book would be my favorite from Kaye, I did enjoy it quite a bit and it was such a heart wrenching romance that really tugged at my emotions.

Fighting For Everything begins its story when our hero Noah, has returned from his tour and has been medically discharged after getting a TBI, losing partial hearing and eyesight. He lost all the members of his team and barely survived on his own. Noah still bears the physical and emotional after effects of the trauma that he suffered. Even though he has returned home, he is not the same man he was when he left. He has changed and he doesn’t know if he will ever be back to who he used to be. While at a BBQ that his family is hosting, he sees his best friend Kristina come to him and seeing her causes a severe panick attack, he sees the energy and the beautiful smile and he doesn’t feel worthy of her and tries to flee away from her. But Kristina, knows that Noah is in a load of pain and the last thing he needs is solitude. He needs her, just in the way she has needed him in the past. So she goes in search of him and what begins as a act of comfort, turns into something she never expected….a HOT and passionate kiss that she never saw coming but one she was more than willing to participate in. But then Noah turns her away and practically pushes her out the door.

But Kristina refuses to give up on her best friend, and even though circumstances have changed between them, she knows that she has to give in and see what they can become and help Noah adjust to his new life here. Kristina starts to force Noah to face up to some of his fears and his feelings for her, they start to slowly reconnect but when things get too serious between them Noah can’t handle it and pushes Kristina completely out of his life and breaks her heart in the process. He begins to unravel emotionally and mentally, and only when a least expected friend he finds at a recovery art class which brings him to the Warrior Fight Club, where he works out his frustations on the mat and finds some real friends that understand what its like, he finds his center and is able to focus on living again and fighting for Kristina and proving to her that he does love her….no matter how long it takes him.

This tattoo is about me, because I had to fix myself before I could do or have or be anything else. But this tattoo is also about you, because you were my reason, my inspirations, my hope against hope.

There was something so emotionally raw about this book. Now Laura Kaye does put me in a emotional swirl quite often, but this book was really different. I didn’t know what I was quite expecting, but it wasn’t this. These two characters really worked me in this book. From the beginning we see the strong chemistry that builds between them. I liked seeing the whole friends to lovers trope and this was done very differently. We get hints that the attraction had always been there but the friendship put the attraction on hold. But when Noah returns home, emotionally and physcially scarred, something shifts between them. Kristina knows that he is troubled, and being with him in the sense of a romantic long term relationship is going to be rough, she also would do anything for Noah. I loved seeing how committed Kristina is to Noah, and how she never truly gives up on him no matter how many times he tries to push her away.

You own every part of me. Everything I am or will be. Everything is yours.

We get to see the Warrior Fight Club and seeing Noah connect with other veterans and ex soldiers that have their own challenges and seeing him make a family with these men. Learning to spar, build up his strength and realize how much damage he is doing to himself and those that he loves. One of my favorite side characters was MO, he was AWESOME and brilliant and really helped Noah get his head on straight and didn’t tell him nonsense, he really gave the truth to him straight and is such a solid friend to Noah. We see Noah go through quite a bit of growth and change and seeing him overcome the emotional tolls of PTSD and this is what I liked most about this story. Is seeing someone so damaged and hurting and at the bottom literally and then being able to rise above everything and make a good decent life for himself.

I want to stay right here, in your arms. Because this is right where I’m supposed to be.

Fighting For Everything was a story of growth, of change, of finding love when you least expect it and a courageous fight to live and to love with a fierce devotion….

Quickie Romance Review-Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews

*Contains Some Spoilers*

Magic Triumphs is the final installment in the Kate Daniels series (as far as I know) but after reading it there was more finality to it than in previous books so this saddens my heart because I have had such a blast going through Kate and Curran’s journey and finding their own place together and in their world that they have created with all the good and the bad and their beautiful son.  I will make this a shorter review, because quite frankly if I go long I will reveal details I probably shouldn’t and would ruin the book. This review I just want to share my impressions of the story overall.

In Magic Triumphs, Kate and Curran have given birth to a bouncing baby boy and boy does he have the energy that his parents have plus tenfold. We see Curran and Kate as parents, and trying to juggle everything including finding time for themselves. We see danger is escalating and they are trying to figure out the new threat including a way to bring down Kate’s father who is more dangerous than ever. I really adore seeing how the plot escalates and all the SUSPENSE….I almost felt like I was going to have a heart attack because the intensity just about killed me. I loved trying to solve the mystery along side Kate and Curran and all their friends and family and their hyper active powerful boy. Their son is eighteen months and seeing him into a baby lion was so CUTE and he drives his mama a bit crazy.

We see the way Kate juggles everything she has to handle wife, mother, niece, daughter, kick ass fighter and defender of the city of Atlanta and more. We see how the strain that everyone puts on her and what I truly loved is that with everything she has going on….the love her “kitty cat” has for her is what keeps her going strong and stable, she relies on him more than she realizes because he accepts her as she is and loves her fully and wholly. Their isn’t a super strong focus on their relationship, but when we get glimpses of it in these small moments, my emotions just break because you see how strong and well balanced they are together on and off the battle field. The story weaves its way through passion, the challenges of parenthood, killings and intrigue, and fighting off near unbeatable enemies to bring a better future for those you love….its kick ass in every way you can imagine and this final installment was a PHENOMENAL journey that I am so grateful to be a part of!!

a little more of the old technological world died, and the new world and its powers and monsters grew a little stronger. Being one of the monsters, I supposed I shouldn’t complain.

Behold, the Immortal One, the In Shinar, the Blood Blade of Atlanta” I spent the whole ceremony trying to kill him with my brain. When I chewed him out afterward, he asked who I would rather risk my life for, The Blood Blade of Atlanta or Kate Lennart, small business owner. I shouldn’t told him to stuff it, I had only myself to blame.

Conlan cooed, looking like the most adorable child, all innocence and light. The kind of child who would never turn into a monster and eat raw mice in the woods with his father. My son was a con man.

The dove? Kate Daniels, the Dove? Just when exactly had I ever done anything remotely dovelike?

At A Glance: The Quickie Month of Love

What a month of love it has been right y’all??!! I swear that February is always the one month that goes by the fastest and I swear it just flew right by. I actually had a pretty solid month actually, except for being behind on reviews which only happens when I read too much. I have been loving Audible’s romance package, and with my job I can pretty much listen to audiobooks all day, and its wonderful. So if I happen to overload my site with reviews, I am sorry but you all with just have to deal hehe Because I keep reading so many goodies and I can’t stop myself from reading. Now as for the blog, I am SO Busy y’all but I am loving it. Every spare moment I am working on the Happy Ever After Database so I can be done by summertime *crossing fingers*. So if I am not commenting as much I am really really sorry because I am missing coming by to all of your sites, but I really only have time to visit 5-10 a day since all my spare time is doing reviews, posts and my database. But I do make an effort that if you stop by my place I will make sure I WILL visit you as well. Hopefully I can be done pretty soon and things will get back to normal. It would be nice if I didn’t have to sleep or work or exercise. I am still going strong with eating healthy though and working out. I will be switching from Weight Watchers, to the BBG meal plan and a bit of Skinny Taste meals. I am trying to be better at cutting out my sugar intake. I did watch some great movies this month. I did see Jumanji and Fifty Shades which were both enjoyable but I had some issues with both. Still planning on seeing Black Panther soon though, I love how diverse the characters are.

The only challenge is my Goodreads reading challenge, which I set at 1 book so that I could just relax and read and I kinda just want to see if it makes a different and boy it sure has. I just read when I am in the mood and there isn’t stress for. So for the month of February I read 27 books, not as much as January but still quite a few. My current county is 60 books so far in theyear 2018.

How Was Your Month Of February? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

Lusting For Covers (287) My Lady Captor

Lusting for Covers is a weekly meme, held on Sunday, that allows bloggers to share their current cover obsession with fellow book lovers.

This meme is hosted by TBQ @ TBQ’s Book Palace.

New York Times bestselling author Hannah Howell pens a sweeping romance set against the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, where a young woman holding a warrior hostage tries to resist his passionate seduction. . .

Lady Sorcha Hay is devastated to learn that English soldiers are holding her young brother captive. Penniless, the only way she can pay for his freedom is by taking a hostage for ransom herself. Her captive–a wounded knight plucked from the battlefield–is furious to be imprisoned by a woman. But nothing will stop Sorcha from keeping Sir Ruari Kerr enslaved, even as the sight of his bronzed body sets her mind reeling and her senses afire. . .

With her dark mane and soft curves, Sorcha is everything Ruari has ever desired in a woman. As she tends to his wounds, Ruari fights the intense attraction that ignites at her very touch. But he can’t afford to lose his heart to his tempting captor. For when he’s finally rescued by his men, Sorcha will pay dearly for her treachery–and loving her could put both their lives in peril. . .

Why My Lady Captor?

First off, with Hannah Howell as a author I will pick up any book she has written but especially her backlisted books. I haven’t read this one yet and I am thrilled to hear that Kensington Books are republishing this book with a drop dead gorgeous cover. I honestly just love everything about this cover. I love their post, with the sensual but tender way they are holding each other. The heroine’s dress is so pretty, I love the pink and her red hair is just gorgeous. And the backdrop with the scene on the grass hill with the castle I am in LOVE!!

About Hannah Howell

After five years and many rejections, I finally got my first book on the stands in 1988 – Amber Flame – from Leisure Books (reissued a while back under the title His Bonnie Bride). Also the western – A Taste of Fire published by Kensington in 1988. (and reissued by them several times since then) After about 10 years of writing English, Scottish and western historicals for several publishers (even venturing into the occasional pen-name) I settled in at Kensington writing Scottish historicals. Thus was born the great Murray clan (and a very prolific clan as well.) In June 2009 I started a series set in late-Georgian England concerning two connected families – the Wherlockes and the Vaughns. The first – If he’s Wicked – was that June, the latest – If He’s Tempted – was released April 2013. My cunning plan is to then do one of the Wherlockes and one of the Murrays each year. We’ll see how that works.

I grew up in New England and my family (on the maternal side) has been here since the 1630s. The paternal side is half Nova Scotian and half English. Met the hubby in England on a trip to meet and greet the English side of the family, bought him a drink in a pub, and the rest is history. Been married for 42+ years now. I have two sons, one a graphic artist (Sam) and one a mechanical engineer (Keir), a daughter-in-law who is a teacher (Beth), and three stunningly attractive, highly intelligent grandchildren (boast much?) – Benjamin, Jennifer, and Evelyn Rose. And they all live within driving distance – hooray. Being mildly insane I also have five cats – Matilda (high strung), Shadow (who is a little ferally and lives under a chair in my living-room because she does not like the ‘kittens’ I brought home years ago.), the demonic duo – Jackson and Perkins, and the latest addition, Mungo.

When I am not writing – which isn’t often – I play games on the computer, play the piano (took 13 years of lessons when growing up), crochet (very addicting), read, and garden (some day I will conquer the demon weed).

Tea and Biscuits: The Must Read Romances For The Month of Love

It is the beginning of February, so in Celebration of Valentines Day coming up, I wanted to share why romance fiction is my greatest love and in fact why I decided to devote my whole site just to my love of romance and also share those must read books you need to include in your Valentines time reading.

I will admit that I am not a huge fan of Valentines Day as a holiday. I don’t like that there is this one holiday that gives the impression that this is the one day who you can only do something special for your loved one. Or how it also pushes pressure on those that are single, that something is wrong if you aren’t having a special date with someone. For example, I currently don’t have a boyfriend, I am back to dating but I have no plans for Valentines Day except for some yummy chocolate and binge watching on some chick flicks. But I do love celebration LOVE because I LOVE it so much. But there are certain books that I alsways love to read around this time of year because they are my favorites and beyond swoony worthy. So whether you are relaxing at home with a good book or going out on the town with  your special someone or your gals….what do you love most about reading romance?

As I have thought about why I love a good romance, it takes me back to what made me fall in love with it in the first place. I think the beginning impression, was that it made me feel so happy inside and out. I love seeing someone normal and average finding a great love and connection with someone that “gets” them and seeing them find a Happily Ever After and I totally belive that a HEA is realistic. It can happen for anyone, it is all about your outlook. And growing up LDS which we believe we will be with our mates and families forever, so I guess I have always believed in a happy ever after. And I guess I have such a romantic heart ( I blame it on my dad who is such a romantic. I definitely believe that romance novels give back in so many different ways and reading a wonderful romance just lifts my spirits and makes my day a bit lighter and I love being able to immerse myself into a story that takes me to a different setting or world and sweeps me away from reality to a place so completely different and unique.

So let me show you the books that are the BEST of the best romances and the books I always do a solid re reading this month that are must reads for any romance lover and books that I can’t recommend enough.

Outlaw Hearts by Rosanne Bittner

I have so much love for this book and really the WHOLE series. Its one of the most unique series that I have ever read. We see this couple fall in love in their twenties and see them  live and love throughout their lives until book four where they are in their 50’s and 60’s. We see the strugglies and the triumps, how much they grow together and see them raise a family together and even how they are with grandkids. These two always make me smile, because their love is so epic and deep.

The Pirate Lord by Sabrina Jeffries

There is something I adore about this book that I have loved for so many years. I have a paperback copy that is one of my most prized possessions. I just adore these two together and not just the main couple, there is a side couple that I root for just as much. This book reminds me of what a chick flick might be with a pirate in the 1800’s. Its sexy and flirty and plain fun!! I honestly can’t recommend this wonderful love story enough.

Rock Hard by Nalini Singh

Ever since this book came out, I have adored it and its always a must read for me especially when I am in the more “romantic” like mood. The bantering between these two is just awesome from where our lovely heroine throws a stapler at her boss (our hero) to cooking in the kitchen together and the smexy times that are sizzling and this book just makes me laugh so HARD!! I just love it so much, and is a must read for everyone!!

Radiance by Grace Draven

This is one of the most Unique romance novels that I have ever read in my lifetime. I just love and adore this pair so much. An arranged marriage of two people that find each other distasteful when it comes to looks. But we see them start out as friends which turns into something more. We see how being attracted to each other is a growth, they find each other ugly and then once love blossoms so does them finding each other physically appealing. And the writing is superb.

[wc_column size=”one-third”]

Dark Wolf by Christine Feehan

I have always had such love for this author but I will say that this book is one of my favorites. An alpha hero and a strong but emotionally damaged heroine who goes out to save the life of Dimitri who is being tortured and only Skyler and her friends are brave enough to save his life. These two are simply wonderful together and one of my most anticipated couples that this author has written. Those that have followed this series know how long we had to wait for Dmitri and Skyler’s story and was truly wonderful.

[wc_column size=”one-third” position=”last”]

Texas Glory by Lorraine Heath

I have adored reading this book over the years and out of all the books that this author has written, this is the most romantic and emotional for me. This author truly did a tremendous job in writing this one and I still have this in paperback after ten years. And I still love reading this one no matter the time of year or my mood.

Devil In Winter by Lisa Kleypas

I cannot say enough about this book here and how amazing it is. So swoony and heartwarming and sexy and such endearing characters that come alive in this book. Simply fantastic and I will be reading this next week for SURE!!!

[/wc_column]

[wc_column size=”one-third”]

Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan

Ever since I picked up this book I have LOVED it so much and their relationship is so sweet despite how the beginning gets set up.  A barbarian warlord and a princess have a marriage of convenience to end a war and its definitely not what it appears and I loved seeing this story unravel and I just adore re reading it and is always a delight to read.

The Secret by Julie Garwood

This is one of the best romances EVER written!! I can’t stress enough how much love that I have for this book here. Its witty and endearing, swoony and romantic and full of history that is so well written.

At A Glance: The Best of the Beginning of 2018

Welcome everyone to 2018!!! I hope you all had a great new years and celebrated with your loved ones!! I have adored this month in January and I have been so lucky  that I had such a great start to the new year. I have started a new eating healtyand being fit regime. I am back to the program that I used before with Kayla Itsines and the BBG program. I love that this program WORKS, and I know it does because I have used it before and loved it. It is challenges and hard but I like that these workouts are short. I would love to meet Kayla and her fiancee, because they have overcome so much together and are such a force of nature in inspiration to others. So I do have a ton of respect for this “power” couple. And their workouts and recipes are so fun. And I have been having a blast getting back to working out again and eating healthy. Its not easy getting back into it, but I keep working hard and I am already feeling stronger and happier already.

I have been devoting this month to my blog and trying out new things with my new theme. Its not that much different from the theme I had before, but I like that I can do more with my landing page and I have been focusing more on my “Happy Ever After” book database. I am really wanting to finish it by the summer, and so I have been cutting back on social media a bit. I am trying to comment back on those that stop by but I am not spending hours every day commenting, because I am working on getting my projects for the site finished.

This has been a wonderful month of reading and ironically I have fallen behind on my books needing to be reviewed…CRAZY….that hardly ever happens. But I have been on such a reading frenzy this month.

As many of you know, I am not participating in many challenges. I want to relax more with reading and do more “mood” reading. Focusing on my TBR a bit more and cutting back on ARC’s even. Which will be such a challenge but I am focused on reading for FUN and what I WANT to read and not what I NEED to read. Even my goodreads challenge I haven’t set a amount of books but already I have read more than I normally do in a whole month.

Goodreads Challenge-31 books so far!! I am on a roll for sure. And I have read so many goodies this month.

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge-none yet but I have a few planned for in February.

Out Of This World Challenge-I have rediscovered my love for science fiction romance. I have read 3 books in this genre for this month.

Book Review and Blog Tour-Moonlight Sins by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Moonlight Sins takes us down the roads of mysteries, old money, and ghosts that roam that halls and a spicy love story that grabs your attention!! A tale that will have you aching for the next book.

Jennifer L Armentrout is a fantastic author and I have always had an admiration for her work and I just love her style of writing, its the type of writing that you can look forward to because its so easy to fall into. I was really intrigued by the style of this new series. I have only read New Adult from her before, so I was curious how she would handle Contemporary romance with hints of a gothic theme set in New Orleans which is the perfect setting for a CR gothic romance and this book gave me all the tingles I love to experience in a solid romance and this became one of my favorites of the year so far.

Our fabulous key players are:

  • Lucien de Vincent, is the youngest of the brothers and a twin. He is dark and edgy and sensual. He is part of a family that has old money, more money than most people can imagine.
  • Julia Hughes, works with those in need at assistant homes. She has a compassionate heart and is kind and thoughtful. She never has flings, and is recovering from an emotionally draining marriage and her divorced husband that won’t stop bothering her.

Moonlight Sins is one of those books that you will always remember for the one reason in the UNIQUE style that it portrays. I have so much love for this author, and she always delivers and she definitely delivered in this book. I will be honest I didn’t know what to expect in this one….a gothic style romance in New Orleans, when I have only read her college romance themes yeah, I didn’t know what to really expect from this book but it definitely outwon any expectations I may have had previously.

It starts out when Lucien and his brothers find their father hanging from a ceiling fan, making it appear that he comitted suicide but none of them believe he would ever be capable of that. Their sister Maddie, has returned after ten years of being missing and can barely speak or move and they need a nurse. They find the ideal nurse, but Lucien is Maddie’s twin and much more protective of his sister.

So he heads over to where Julia is living, and meets up with her at the bar. Even though Julia is not one to have casual sex EVER, in fact this is the first time she throws caution to the wind and allows herself to enjoy the moment of the powerful chemistry she feels for this sexy southern man. She never expected that he would turn up to be her boss. But Lucien, knows that Julia is perfect for the job. And not just because she has the perfect training, but also because she is genuine and sincere. She really cares about others and he has never known anyone with such compassion and heart. He convinces her to stay on and likes to play with Julia and goes on “full seduction” mode.

I truly I LOVED their relationship, it was so sensual and swoony and I just wanted more of them. I rarely see this type of relationship in a contemporary romance so this book had such a fesh look to it. Honestly, these type of “courtships” you really only see in historical. So seeing this style in a contemporary romance just thrilled me to my toes. It does help that they live in the same home even if that “home” is a huge mansion that creaks and moans and has a haunting feel to it. The focus of the story is the romance between Lucien and Julia. We do get some interesting and complex add ons with the brothers and honestly at first I didn’t know what to make of the siblings. There was something different going on with the sister, and you don’t find out till the end what really makes her a true mystery. And boy the ending is one of the BEST I have ever read. There was so many surprises and shocks that I didn’t know what to think of it to be honest. But in a good way. I love an author that gives a good twist at the end without taking away from the love story or the “happy ending”.

“I want to know about you,” he spoke before she could, and then shifted closer, his knee pressed into her thigh once more. “I have questions. I’m made of them.”

She gave a little laugh as she shook her head. “There’s nothing more to know about me than what you already know.”

“There’s literally everything to know about you,” he insisted. “Where did you go to school? What really made you take a job like this one where you leave everything behind?”

“I went to Shippensburg University. You’ve probably never heard of it.” Like she’d ever answer that last question. Finishing off her tea, she smiled faintly. “It’s really late and I do need to get to sleep. Thank you for the tea. I think it will work.”

“But I haven’t asked you the most important question.”

Slipping off the stool, she let her hair fall forward, past her breasts. “And what is that?”

“How can you be here and be the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen?”

Julia’s head swung to his so fast she thought her it would fall right off her shoulders.

Everything about the tone of his voice and the slightly wide eyes of his said he was being

genuine, but he couldn’t be serious. Her gaze sharpened. Was he drinking something harder than chamomile? Because there was no way in the world that he truly believed that she was the most beautiful creature he’d ever seen.

The question burned to the tip of her tongue. If he thought she was so beautiful then why did he walk away from her that night in her apartment? She swallowed the question so she didn’t have to swallow her pride.

At the end of the day, she knew who Lucian was. He was the kind of guy who couldn’t go a weekend without getting laid. They existed. She’d met a few while in college and when she did her stint at the hospital. They weren’t exactly particular when it came to who’d they be with. Pretty much came down to whoever was available at the time. Which meant she wasn’t going to be impressed with stray compliments that were tossed out as often as the trash was.

Lucian leaned and then spoke in a low voice, “There is another reason why I didn’t tell you who I was.”

The change of subject rattled her and she whispered back. “Why?”

He tilted his head so his mouth was directly above her ear. “Because I knew the moment you’d figured out who I was, you wouldn’t have let me come back to your apartment.”

Exhaling roughly, Julia knew she needed to pull away and stop this conversation. That was the professional and mature thing to do, but she didn’t move. She was frozen on her stool, her heart thumping in her chest.

He wasn’t done yet. “I knew that if you realized who I was, you would’ve never let me get my hand between those pretty thighs of yours and I would’ve never known how soft and slick you felt against my fingers.”

A bolt of red-hot lust blasted through her veins as heat poured into her very core. Those words created a storm inside her. A tremble rocked her body.

“So, yeah, that’s another reason why I didn’t say who I was.” His lips brushed the lobe of her ear, sending an illicit shiver across her skin. Pulse pounding, she drew back. She felt unsteady as Lucian straightened on his chair, and she felt so close—too close to do something irrevocably reckless. Like hopping off her stool and into his lap.

“You’re not supposed to bring that up,” she reminded him. “You promised.”

He tilted his head to the side. “I didn’t promise that.”

She opened her mouth.

“I didn’t,” he insisted, and when she dragged the conversation back through her thoughts, she realized he was right. He hadn’t.

Her eyes narrowed. “Even so, it would be the appropriate thing for you to do.”

“And I think you already know how I feel about doing the appropriate thing.”

She shook her head. It was way past time to end this conversation. “Thank you for the tea, Lucian, but—” A gasp cut her off.

Lucian rose and was in front of her so quickly that she was startled. “Say it again.”

Confusion swamped her. “Say what?”

“My name.”

They were close, and he towered over her by a good foot. Julia reached out, gripping the edge of the island. “Why?”

“Because I asked?” he offered, his lips curving up at the corners. “And because I like the way it sounds coming from your lips.”

Her heart did a weird little jump. She had no idea how to respond to that request. None whatsoever. But then he moved. He reached into the small place between them, catching the piece of her hair that had fallen across her cheek. Before she could move away, the back of his hand dragged across her cheek as he tucked the hair behind her ear. Her stupid, stupid body immediately responded once more.

Book Review-About That Kiss by Jill Shalvis

About That Kiss is a charming and sweet romance that will leave you with a smile on your face and a book that will evoke hoots of laughter and smiles all around…perfect book to get you out of the winter blues

I haven’t read Jill Shalvis in a while, I will admit that I didn’t get a kick out of book one, so I have been nervous to get back into this series but I can say that I really enjoyed About That Kiss way more than I was expecting too. I really have to be in the mood to enjoy Jill Shalvis and I think I was in the “right” mood for this book. And I am so happy that I really enjoyed this as much as I did. It was a bit different than what I was expecting, but I was pretty happy with out it played out in the end.

Both Joe and Kylie have a love/hate relationship going on. They have a great kiss which is why the title is so aptly named “about that kiss” because honestly they keep going back to that moment. Joe has a few alpha male tendacies, he has never taken it seriously with a woman before so of course he is way out of his element with Kylie. Now Kylie has had her sights set on her boss, but the way that Joe kisses her changes everything even though she knows that Joe doesn’t do relationships or long term….EVER!! And boy she feels like she is walking down a path that is so unknown.

What really made this book WOW the reader, is the chemistry that these two have. I do have to say that I LOVED their interchanges and boy these kissing changes are powerful I can tell you that much. Definitely blew me away and yeah I liked Joe’s character because his whole take control and kiss the gal against the wall or inside a closet…totally did it for me. And I really got a kick out of seeing them solve a mystery together and develop some true heartfelt feelings for each other along the way. There was an almost “poignant” feel to their relationship and I just adored the way this story developed especially the romance of the story was so “on key” and I have to say Bravo to Jill Shalvis for making this book so special for me.

Book Review-The Bastard’s Bargain by Katee Robert

The Bastard’s Bargain is a passion filled and angst packed romance that will send you sensations and tingles from head to toe….a vibrant and powerfully provoking tale!!

WHAT A BOOK!!! I have been looking forward to this book ever since book one came out and boy it was a wild ride but one I had a blast to participate in. Now this is the last book of the O’Malley series (as far as I know) …to be honest I think the ending of this book left me a bit unsure, it wasn’t as final as I was expecting it to be so maybe another book or novella…who knows but I am SO *crossing fingers* that this isn’t the end.

I will say that this is one of the most intense and action-packed books of the series, although I would like to mention that all of them are configured to turn out that way because these definitely aren’t calm or cool like vibes….they are intense and crazy and out of this world but you fall in love anyway.

Our key players of this intense romance are:

  • Keira O’Malley is the youngest of the siblings, and she is struggling the most out of all of them. She feels guilty for her brother’s death. She is the most “lost” of them all. She feels like a misfit around her siblings, and she drowns her pain in alcohol and drugs.
  • Dmitri Romanov is tough as nails and hardened as he was born to be. He is the boss of the Romanov. He is dangerous, calculating and cold at times. But also craves something more and he senses that he can have something unique with Keira and that she will warm the ice around him.

So this book pretty much takes off after book five. Where our heroine, Keira, agrees to go with Dmitri and be his wife. She chooses to leave her family and take part in her own destiny. But it’s not as easy as she thinks it might be. At first, all she cares about is getting away from the protectiveness of her family and nothing else. Until Dmitri forces her to become more than a drug addict. He pretty much makes her go cold turkey from the drugs and the drinking. He knows that she is the weakest with her senses out of whack and he needs her to be sober. Because marriage to him is not going to be safe or easy. He knows what she is capable of and wants her to be his partner…his queen.

“Do I have a choice?”

Dmitri watched her closely. “I won’t force you there any more than I’d force you to have sex. It’s your choice, It’s always been your choice.”

Now Keira isn’t like the other siblings, she is harder to like. I knew that going in that this book wouldn’t be easy at times especially with this heroine because out of all the siblings, she struggles the most internally. Now I love this crazy family, but we see another side to them in this book and I loved how strong Keira stands up to them. They don’t really realize that she CHOOSES to be with Dmitri because he understands her in ways that her family never will or never will be open to understanding. It happens when you have highly overprotective brothers that act before thinking.

There is also some great scenes of suspense and action that I have come to look forward to in these books and Katee Robert’s does them so well. We still have our villains Althea and Mae and boy are these two a piece of work and boy I really liked the justice they receive FINALLY!!! But there was a fun twist of a betrayal that you totally don’t see coming. But seeing this couple just come together in this book is so FANTASTIC!! I honestly couldn’t get enough of them mostly because they fit just right. They both have inner demons they deal with daily, but once they decide to take a chance on each other, the ball on this romance really gets rolling. We see so much growth, especially in Keira. She begins painting again and just living life and not swallowing in her own misery. And we see a different tender side to Dmitri, and he makes the best anti-hero that you will fall head over heels in love with.

I’ll never get enough of you. You are mine and I am yours, and I’m keeping you for the rest of our fucking lives. I love you, you crazy woman and I’m never letting you go.

Quite frankly, this book knocked my socks off and the only reason it’s not a five star is the ending was a bit disappointing, to be honest. But other than that…this book was full speed ahead FANTASTIC and I can’t recommend it enough!!

About Katee Robert

Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.

Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?

She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

Blog Tour: Fallen For Shame by Anna Edwards

Today I am thrilled to share with you the fun stuff about this stunning shifter romance Fallen For Shame by Anna Edwards

I was thrilled when I was asked to read this book and give an honest review. I always get a kick out of shifter love and this book was unique and fun. Although I do wish I had had the opportunity to read the first two books first, just due to certain circumstances surrounding this pack and the villain that is trying to destroy their alpha and his own brother.

Our key players in this delicious tale are:

  • Teagan Holland, is our lovely heroine, who is clumsy and quirky, she is an Asiatic wild dog and has been looking for her “place” and a pack she can call home and that will accept her for who she is.
  • Tyler Quinn, is haunted by dreams of the past, a drug addiction, a bit nerdy with his love of computers but is kind and protective.

I truly enjoyed seeing this pair come together. As much as I love shifter romance, sometimes the whole alpha pairings can get a bit old at times. So I was so thrilled when this book was SO Not the case. This is more of a beta pair, two people that have quite unique personalities. They really fit so well together. Both of them are struggling emotionally on different levels. I truly adored the hero though, seeing him work through his past, an enemy that is using his weakness in the past for drugs, and his quiet yet strong character that continues to shine through. I love how much of a fighter he is. Now our heroine was so FUN!! I just loved her so much. I felt like I could relate to her so much. She is always falling on her feet, being clumsy but has a fun character. She definitely made the book so light and carefree at times.

We become introduced to the other members of this diverse pack with lions, witches and bears…oh my!!! Yep they were fun and so quirky. You can definitely tell how different they all are but quite endearing in many ways. I just wanted to grab up the previous books to get the low down on these characters that made me smile.

Now the cons to the story….there aren’t many, but enough that kept me from rating this book higher. Now don’t get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed this book, it’s a story you can relax into. First off, I wish the ARC I had been sent, was one where I could have changed the text. It wasn’t your normal font you normally see and it really kept me from really enjoying the book fully because it was so distracting. And the romance between Teagan and Tyler fell a bit flat for me. I love a strong focus on the romance of the story, and I just didn’t connect with them as much as I wanted to or was expecting to.

Now that being said, I want to say that this book is a quick and fast read, its shorter than most novels, so that could be a factor to is that at times it did have a feeling of being a bit “too rushed” however there are so many positive qualities to the story that pulls at the readers attention. I really became sucked into this world of diverse shifters, unique politics and a villain that was downright demented and I want to see him get his “end”

Overall I found Fallen For Shame a stunning and heart-stopping tale…..a story that takes you through the woods of Montana, a unique take on shape shifters and one you don’t want to miss out on!!

Why The Duke Buys A Bride?

This is such a classy and stylist romantic cover….I just love it. And its a perfect cover for a summer release as well. I love the soft shades of blue, the sexy pose, and our hero has a beard!! And I just adore the ruffles and lace on her dress, so pretty!!

About Sophie Jordan

Pseudonym:
Sharie Kohler

Sophie Jordan took her adolescent daydreaming one step further and penned her first historical romance in the back of her high school Spanish class. This passion led her to pursue a degree in English and History.

A brief stint in law school taught her that case law was not nearly as interesting as literature - teaching English seemed the natural recourse. After several years teaching high school students to love Antigone, Sophie resigned with the birth of her first child and decided it was time to pursue the long-held dream of writing.

In less than three years, her first book, Once Upon A Wedding Night, a 2006 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Nominee for Best First Historical, hit book shelves. Her second novel, Too Wicked To Tame, released in March 2007 with a bang, landing on the USA Today Bestseller's List

Book Review-Beyond Scandal and Desire by Lorraine Heath

Lorraine Heath introduces us to a sensual love affair that takes us back in time to the spicy Victorian Era in London, England. A time of growth in the sciences, politics, and human rights. These two people come together and learn to fight with having all of society against them being together…

HOLY SMOKES!!! This book just blew me away here, and I just didn’t want to put it away. I have had such admiration for Lorraine Heath, and over the years she has become one of my favorites here. She has such a solid talent in writing historical romances, and I got a kick out of her delving into the Victorian Era. This story introduces the reader to an aspect of Victorian culture that very few know about…baby farmers. This is actually a very heartwrenching aspect of society and one of the “skeletons” on England and I was really happy that Lorraine Heath did such great research here and implemented this aspect into the story.

Our wonderful key players in the story are:

  • Mick Trewlove, is a commoner, he was deposited and abandoned by his real parents to be thrown away to a baby farm, but his adopted mother took him in and raised him along with his siblings. Mick has created his own wealth and power but is out for revenge so his father will finally admit that Mick is his son.
  • Aslyn Hastings, is part of the Ton, her parents died and she was brought in and became the war of the Duke and Duchess of Hedley. Even though she has always has done what was expected of her, she dreams of adventure and passion.

Beyond Scandal and Desire is such a sensational romance and I totally got a kick out of this book and I honestly didn’t want it to end. This story made me realize why I fell in love with Lorraine Heath in the first place and this book was pretty epic in its own way.

This story begins when our hero Mick, is out on his journey for revenge and to be claimed by his real father. So his plan is to make his “brother” lose everything including his almost betrothed. Aslyn has always known that her future is to marry the Duke’s son, even though she doesn’t love him the way that a woman should love the man she is supposed to marry. When she meets Mick in the gardens, she is intrigued because he stirs desire, passion that she has never felt before.

She could practically see it coming from him in waves that had the power to encompass everything around him–including herself. She wanted to experience that power, be drawn into it, captured by it, seduced within it.

Through a set of events, Mick and Aslyn run into each other and the chemistry between them in obvious even though Aslyn knows she is supposed to marry another man, she honestly doesn’t feel like she can. Especially when her betrothed starts to change when his desperation for gambling takes a twist. The man that she really wants is Mick, a man that the Duke and his wife DONT approve of. But Mick is the man that she is beginning to love and wants to fight for them. But she will find out that Mick has a mission, one that could bring downfall to the family that she loves dearly.

Mick couldn’t help but wonder if sometimes heartache was needed in order to move forward.

I was really intrigued by the turn of events that bring this couple together. There were such sensuality and endearing romantic qualities that pulled me into this story so completely. I just loved every moment that Mick and Aslyn have together. From the sexy flirting to Mick showing Aslyn another side to him, to a journey of forgiveness and redemption. I really was cheering for these two from the beginning. There was such class to their relationship. I really adored the way that they court and fall in love. There were so many tender moments that made me “sigh” in that sweet romantic way that gives you all the warm fuzzies. This is the epitome of ROMANCE and as I was reading this delightful story, I was reminded of this author, the reason I love romance in fiction and why it does so much for me. This book just made me happy, grinning all the way, and I immersed myself completely in this beautiful story.

I don’t care. When I am with you, I feel as though, for the first time in my life, I am real, I am seen. It’s difficult to explain, but I want to experience everything with you that a woman can experience.

I really fell in love with the siblings though, and seeing their eccentricities and their bond as a family even if it’s not by blood. I love how protective Mick is of them and even though they frustrate him at times, he is all about giving them what they dream and desire. Especially to his sisters, he would do anything for even if it means buying a parasol or helping a sister set up a bar. And I felt that Lorraine Heath did a tremendous job in showing the tragic elements of Baby Farming. It definitely broke my heart seeing it in this story and how society viewed children born “on the other side of the blanket” as it were.

Overall Beyond Scandal and Desire is a stunning beginning to a new series, a story of true heart, hidden secrets and a true love affair that sings to your heart!!! INCREDIBLY HEARTFELT!

If I touch you, Aslyn, I’m not going to stop touching you until I’ve touched every aspect of you

About Lorraine Heath

Also writes Young Adult under Rachel Hawthorne, Jade Parker, and with her son as J.A. London)

Lorraine Heath has always had a soft spot for emotional love stories. No doubt because growing up, watching movies with her mom, she was taught that the best movies "won't half make you cry."

She is the daughter of a British beauty (her mom won second place in a beauty contest sponsored by Max Factor® during which she received a kiss from Caesar Romero--Joker on the original Batman TV series) and a Texan who was stationed at Bovingdon while serving in the air force. Lorraine was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, but soon after moved to Texas. Her "dual" nationality has given her a love for all things British and Texan, and she enjoys weaving both heritages through her stories.

When she received her BA degree in psychology from the University of Texas, she had no idea she had gained a foundation that would help her to create believable characters—characters that are often described as “real people.” Her novels have appeared on bestseller lists, including USA Today, Waldenbooks, and most recently, the New York Times.

Book Love (114) Love Me Forever

Book Love is a feature that I started hosting last year, because I wanted to give a shout out to those special reads that are so lowly rated and no one reads them and I want to yell “READ THEM” because you are really missing out. So read the blurb, and go one click it on Amazon because it is that good.

The second book in my vampire series, Love Me Forever is set in German Village in Columbus Ohio and is the story of physician/vampire Justin Corvus and a blue-collar single mother named Stella. Neither Justin nor Stella expected the attraction between them, nor could they anticipate the act of violence that puts Justin afoul of the vampire code he helped establish.

Why Love Me Forever?

I read this quite a few years ago, when I first started blogging, and I was on a vampire binge and I had such a fun time with this book. It definitely had everything that I look for in a sexy vampire romance….sensual and romantic and full of chills down the spine. The plot has hidden depths that pulls you in pretty quickly. The writing is the type that you don’t want to put it down so be prepared for a quick and fast read. 🙂

Throwback Thursday: Historical Edition-To Marry An Heiress

This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

MOST CONVENIENT MARRIAGE

The breathtakingly handsome Earl of Huntdon is determined to take a bride, and equally determined that his marriage to Miss Georgina Pierce will be a business arrangement only–after all, he has been wounded in love before. But there is unexpected passion in his innocent wife, and he soon begins to look forward to many days–and nights–with her … until he shockingly discovers that her promised fortune has been squandered. Though Georgina rightly protests that she knew nothing of it, Huntingdon is wounded to the core.

Spirited Georgina surprised herself by agreeing to marry the earl–a man she’s just met. The handsome nobleman proposes that she exchange her fortune for his title, but from the moment Georgina first waltzes across the ballroom floor in his arms, she realizes she can easily give this handsome, haunted lord her heart…. But first she must teach him that there is one thing far more important than money and position–and that is love.

Why To Marry An Heiress?

I read this book many books, and was the first regency book I had read from Lorraine Heath and I TRULY loved this arranged marriage. It is one of the most original regency themed romances I have ever read. There is a fortune, and a mystery to be solved that brings this pair together and they begin to really fall in love. Its one of Avon’s romantic treasures and these books are so charming and endearing.
