So Today I wanted to share something special with all of you today, So today I want to share the third part of the 4 part series of sharing all of my top favorites, but even narrowing this down to the top 100 is going to be tough haha Now these books that I am going to share with you are going to be part of various time era’s and settings. They won’t just reside in the Regency/Victorian (although there will be plenty of those). My goal with this is to share the “gold mine” of ALL historical romance.

Time Period: Australian

I absolutely adored this book and was one of my first historical romances I ever read. It has a fun kidnapping trope that is super great and lots of interesting angst that is amazing and is set in Australia where the family is into horse racing.

Time Period: Regency/England

This author is the queen of writing historical romance rom-com’s. If you are looking for something light and fluffy, then this book is for you and its also a retelling of Harry Met Sally. Its flirty, and sweet and so endearing.

Time Period: Historical-Viking

This book is epic and so fun. It has plenty of fun times to make you burst out in laughter, We also see some fun twins, it takes place in 900 A.D., with some great sensuality mixed in.

Time Period: Regency/England

This was such a fun one, and immediately engaged me. The sexual chemistry is pure perfection, the build up of the angst is just right and also delivers are fabulous character growth especially from our hero.

Time Period: Victorian/England

This is my favorite Holiday romance and has such a fun “Christmas Carol” connection. I love these winter house party setting, and Victoria Alexander did a marvelous job with this here.

Time Period: Victorian/England

This was such a refreshing story and it completely pulled me in right away. It had a certain sensual feel to the story that you normally don’t get in a HR. It has a governess theme, but the heroine is so self empowered, in such a natural genuine way.

Time Period: Medieval/Scotland

This book is epic and beautifully crafted and so details with lots of plot and deep world building. If you want an authentic feeling scot romance, then this is the book for you. If you want something rich, with a slight angst and so detailed in the history, I can’t recommend this one enough.

Time Period: Viking/Medieval

I adored this viking romance and it had such honest true themes to the story without having consensual issues and modern readers will be satisfied with this novel. There is such a level of sweetness and charm while having the gritty surroundings.

Time Period: Regency/England

This book just won me over so quickly. The heroine had such a strong independent will. The writing is well done, has a mix of witty intelligence and the romance is so endearing and beyond memorable.

Time Period: Western

This was such an endearing read and became such a easy five star read for me. I couldn’t put this down, and I loved the redemption plot in this one. There was such heart in this story.

Time Period: Western

This book had such a strong sense of adventure, super engaging, the chemistry was on point and there is a sense of honest openness to this story that I was so easily drawn into.

Time Period: Exotic Locales

This book was such a fun surprise. It had so much adventure, is a road trip with such heartwarming feels to it. Both has such strong characters and adored seeing these characters fall for each other and has such an exotic locale.

Time Period: Victorian/England

There is such beautiful character growth in this romance and most especially for the heroine. There is such beauty in her growth and learning to open herself up for love. Jennifer Haymore knows how to write an in-depth sizzling romance.

Time Period: Regency/England

I was so charmed by this cinderella retelling and just love the sense of wit and magic that is woven within the pages of this book. Olivia Drake is an author that so easily works for me, and the characters are so endearing.

Time Period: Victorian/England

This book instantly pulled me in, it did have some prickly characters, but the way that this author was able to pull me into the story and and there was a sense of excitement to this one here.

Time Period: Western/Spain & California

This was such a unique story and I just LOVED the setting, The hero is Spanish and has settled in California. I loved the sense of mystery, the hero is such a alpha male and I loved seeing how well these two are matched with each other.

Time Period: Regency/England

This book was so much fun, we see lots of action with spies, it has a class difference trope and a sense of mystery and intrigue layered into the story.

Time Period: Western

This book is one full belly laugh and is so lively of a romance. I just adored the heroine, she can be prickly, but I really adored her strength and tenacity. She is such a good match for our hero and the setting is seeing them fall for each other during a cattle drive.

Time Period: American/Colonial

This was such an amazing romance, and so filled with adventure and plot building. It also has a bi racial hero if I remember correctly. Its fiercely passionate, highly engaging and a story you can’t put down. I was immediately caught up in the romance.

Time Period: Victorian/England

This is one of the best books from this author and what I loved about this book is how unconventional it is, deals with some espionage and a strong heroine intent on saving kids. The chemistry between the couple is so intense and filled with heart.

Time Period: Stewart/Scotland

This story was so endearing and sweet and just will captivate you at the beginning. It does have a Beauty and Beast retelling. What struck me the most by this book was the emotional intensity of the romance, these two just have such a beautiful connection and the depth of growth in the emotional intimacy is stellar.

Time Period: Victorian/England

This book is an England underworld type of romance, so forget your dukes, we have one bad boy rogue and a sweet reserved heroine just caught in a bad situation. I love a gambled away trope and this one is so delicious. I loved the sensuality and intensity of the story.

Time Period: Georgian/England and France

This one will deal with the effects of the war and PTSD. I really found this one to be such a satisfying story and the romance so sweet. It does have a scarred and damaged hero and the heroine helps him heal and they develop a strong connection to each other.

Time Period: Medieval/Scotland

This was a delightful book and my favorite from this author. It delves into a popular customer of the medieval scots and the author works a fun twist on it. The romance was so delectable and engaging and the characters so easy to fall in love with.

This book was amazing, it was my first book from this author, and completed stunned me but it’s also her longest book I think. It’s her 900 page book but it’s a page-turner so you will fly through this so quickly. The romance isn’t instant but it’s not slow burn either. The development is handled wonderfully and loved the adventure that our couple is taken on together. The authenticity of this medieval romance was on point and Le Veque has such a refreshing voice.

I’ve actually read one by Sandra Hill before that I forgot about until seeing this one you shared. It was called Frankly, My Dear and it’s been years but I remember enjoying it.

I was so happy to see Lord of Scoundrels and Ride the Fire on your list, Renee! Those two titles really lit my HR fire. 🙂 I’m going to have to make a list of all your recommendations – there are a lot I haven’t read – and then make my way through it. 🙂 I probably haven’t read enough HR to make a list like this so I really appreciate you spreading the love. <3
