This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!
What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.
The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.
Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday. 2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008
I enjoy carnal pleasures like any mortal man, but six hundred years of existence have taught me loss. Best to stay away from people and save myself the heartache. Then I arrive at the notorious London brothel Maison Rouge, and my life, such as it is, will never be the same again.
Ivy Dearing, daughter of the infamous Madam, has requested my assistance. Two of her friends have been murdered, and she is determined to find their killer. I know better than to agree to help, yet Ivy is impossible to resist. No stranger to vampires, she has awakened desires within me that are as potent as my thirst for blood—desires that can only be satisfied by Ivy herself. But when there is another murder, it is all I can do to protect the woman I love from an evil more powerful than the undead .
Why Taken by the Night?
I really do love these books that this author has written. We don’t find too many paranormal historical’s especially with vampires, but Kathryn Smith is so talented with these stories. In this book its really impressionable and the way the she develops the plot in this story and balances it out with such a solid romance that is center place in the story.
