The Christmas Book Tag–Romance Style

by | Dec 22, 2016 | Uncategorized | 5 comments

So I Saw this book tag at Spines and Covers and I knew that I needed to do it. I had been looking for a good book tag and I really liked this one. I like that it’s a book/song tag and since I rarely do these I thought this would be a lovely treat and a good way to get me in the right mood for Christmas. So close now its crazy!!! If you want to join in, consider yourself tagged and leave your link in the comments below so I can check out yours 🙂

1. “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”
Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.

Sebastian St. Ives is one of those characters that has quite the villain reputation. He does some not so good things, but Lisa Kleypas makes you fall in love with the villain that becomes a hero. It is quite fantastic to see the change in him, from a man that seems not to care about anyone to a man that will fight with his dying breath for those he loves.

2. “All I Want for Christmas is You”
Which book do you most hope to see under your Christmas tree?

I have had such a blast following this series along with Curran and Kate (whom are one of the best romance covers I have ever read) These two pack a punch but its been quite fun seeing their journey. And yeah I know I haven’t gotten this one yet, but maybe Santa will bring it to me this year.

3. “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”
Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves

I just couldn’t choose one, but I have two characters that came to my mind pretty quickly. The first one is Cordelia from Texas Glory. Now Cordelia really overcomes so much in this book, and we see how much she changes. She grows up in a home with a abusive fall and overwhelming brothers. She is practically afraid of her own shadow. But when she ends up married in a marriage of convenience, with the help of her new husband and his family, she slowly learns to believe in herself and fight for her dreams. Now the second book, we have another heroine Skyler. Skyler is a character we have seen through most of the books gradually. She is a girl that was practically a sex slave to her father and his “buddies” since she was a girl. So she definitely has some heavy baggage. And we see her go from a teenager that shakes physically in fear of men around her, to going after her life mate when his life is in danger. We see how much she changes and what strength she has to overcome her past.

4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list?

Jeremy Malory is such a naughty hero but in a good way!!! He is a rake and a scoundrel and he loves his women…..he adores them all. But he is sweet and charming but he likes sex and doesn’t hide the fact. He is definitely incorrigible.

b) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?

Robert from Forgiving is one of the nicest characters I have ever read and has made an impression on me ever since I read this book years ago. Robert is the type of man that doesn’t act on what he is feeling. He has quite a bit of self control. What you really admire about his character is that a girl he loved when he was barely a adult, ran off and he found her working as a prostitute. But he knows that something is up, he has complete faith that something bad happened. I love how devoted he is to her, even when she is terrible to him at first. He is so kind and steadfast and loyal.

5. “Frosty the Snowman”
Which book just melts your heart.

Petals On The River would be my top choice and probably the most poignant of books this author ever wrote and by far my favorite!!! This pair, they just make you all gooey eyed just reading them. They just have a instant connection, and I love seeing how they care for each other in different ways. This is a book that will make you cry and smile all at once.

6. “Feliz Navidad”
Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.

haha there are so many….so how bout on another planet but in the same time frame…does that work? Well that is Warrior’s Woman for ya. Now this book is a hoot. And it takes place on a warrior planet where our heroine crash lands who is from a high tech planet and a experienced pilot and fighter. Love the bantering and angst in this one.

7. “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?

If you are looking for a book to get you in the Christmas Spirit, then this book is definitely for you. I just couldn’t get enough of this book, with the English traditions, cozy settings, and some fun connection to the Charles Dickens story “A Christmas Carol”. Not only a wonderful romance, but a well written story of the true meaning of Christmas.

8. “Sleigh Ride”
Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with (doesn’t have to be a love interest!)

I would love to spend it with The Bridgertons!!! Now this family is such a hoot especially when they get together and I just would to spend the holidays with these folks. They are energetic, high spirited and easy to be friends with. So much to love.

9. “Baby it’s Cold Outside”
Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?

I think this would be so SO hard for me, because its books folks and those are more precious than gold. However since I have to answer this probably Backstage pass. This book was one of those that had some aspects in it that was NOT for me and made me uncomfortable.

10. “Do you hear what I hear”
Which book do you think everyone should read?

This is so dang easy!!! Outlaw Hearts by Rosanne Bitter, if there is one book I think everyone needs in their life its this one. Its a epic love story that spans decades and is simply brilliantly written. I cannot stress enough how wonderful this book is. Rosanne Bitter is one of the best story tellers you could ever come across. This story is about two people that go through hell and back, over time and you see how solid their love is and what true love really is—-how it endures and struggles and can overcome anything thrown at you. So please if you love romance, you need this one in your life and on your shelf!!
