Tea and Biscuits: Podcasts GALORE!!

by | Aug 20, 2018 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 0 comments

Welcome back to the Tea and Biscuits Book Discussion posts….so this week I wanted to discuss something that I have fallen in love with over the past year and there are so many wonderful podcasts out there, but here we are going to talk about those that talk about books and romance and have a passion for both.

This was my first ever romance podcast I started to listen to which I discovered last fall. I blame Quinn@ Quinn’s Book Nook for getting me hooked into this one here. This is such a wonderful podcast to listen to. Sarah Wendell is in charge of it, but we also get to listen to the other three ladies from time to time. They interview authors, editors, publishers and more involved in the romance community. They have intereviewed Lisa Kleypas, Alisha Rai, Shelly Laurenston, the sisters who run The Ripped Bodice and many more. I have learned so much from this podcast.

Heaving Bosoms was my second try at a podcast and I kept seeing Danielle @ TBQ Book Palace rave and RAVE about these gals on Twitter so I knew that I needed to pick this one up. And from the first episode I knew I would love these ladies. They are just so wonderful and hilarious. Its hosted by Erin McCarthy and Melody Carlisle. I love their humor, their bluntness and the way that they talk about books. Now if its a book you don’t want to be spoiled…don’t listen until you have read it. But they have podcasts on some great titles likes The Duke and I by Julia Quinn, The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare, The Autumn Bride by Anne Gracie and more. And the way they talk about historicals or in their words: London times…its pretty apparent they are new to the historical romance genre and it reminds me of when I first started and all the research I had to do to learn about the time periods I was reading in to understand it better. You need to listen to these ladies and I would love to meet them one day. 🙂

This podcast is the Wicked Wallflowers Club and I ADORE this podcast so very much.  Its so informative and I love their process in the ways that they interview fun authors. They have talked to so many great authors such as Sarah MacLean, Christine Feehan, Joanna Shupe, Cathy Maxwell, Sophie Jordan and Laurell K. Hamilton and so many more. I love the variety of authors they interview that allow you to get a deeper look at your favorite authors and their recent works. And they always do this 10 question test at the end that is a blast. I don’t think I can recommend this podcast enough.

This is a podcast that I recently discovered and man these ladies are such a hoot. This podcast features six different ladies that we get to listen to here. And there is so much diversity from Australia, Canada and a few others that live across the states. Its simply wonderful and they crack me up. And they touch base on so many wonderful titles, talk about various genres and issues among the romance book community and interview authors as well. This podcast just fills my heart with happiness.

This is a fun podcasts, this features a mother and daughter talking about romance novels and its pretty relatable. I could NEVER go on a podcast and talk about romances with my mother, but it works for them somewhat. hehe  They touch books on The Hating Game, The Pleasures of Passion, The Duchess Deal, How To Tame A Beast in Seven Days, The Gentle Rogue and many more. I have only listened to a few episodes but these ladies are delightful and they LOVE historical romance. And since this is my passion, I love seeing them adore this genre and rave about it. 🙂

When In Romance is a bi weekly podcast where two ladies from Book Riot, talk about issues that concern the romance community and I love how informative they are about what is going on. From Diversity, RWA coverage, romance novels to movies, Book Covers, Queer romance and more. I love how great they know these topics and I have learned a ton from them over the past few months.

This podcast is featured from one of those bloggers that are involved with Smexy Books. I have been such a fan of Smexy Books since I have been a friend with Mandi ever since I started blogging. I love the authors that she interviews and the way she talks about romances and how informative she is.

This podcast is not recent, but this is where they interview some fun Avon romance authors, so if you love this publishing house…then listen to these 29 Episodes where they talk to so many of my personal favorites and the host is so ENERGETIC…she just makes me so happy about life and reading. From Lisa Kleypas, Jennifer Ryan, Maya Rodale, Sophie Jordan and Sarah MacLean.

I just started listening to this because I have been wanting to find more romance from the LGBTQ community, and I have heard so many great things and its a good one. Jeff and Will are a married gay couple that share their experience, talk about romance and pop culture.

This is a podcast I have only listened to a few episodes with, its not super current, but they have a ton of episodes and I love the variety of topics, books and authors they dicuss. And this website is so fun so I love listening to them talk about books and romance!! 🙂

This is another fun podcast that discusses so many fun topics they discuss romance novels, authors, covers and more!! This has been a fun podcast to listen to and I love their personalities they implement in the podcast and just leaves you with a smile.

This is one I recently stumbled across, the hosts are a m/f couple, and they are so adorable!! We get to see the male and female’s perspective on romance novels. And its very interesting seeing the different opinions from both and its pretty hiliarious especially from Jamie (the man) seeing his viewpoints that we normally don’t hear much in the romance bookish community.
