Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions: Winter Reads To Look Forward To

by | Nov 6, 2017 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 24 comments

I can’t believe that we have entered into the month of November, and we are getting toward the end of my favorite season Fall…however there is much love for our next season WINTER. What is not to love? The cheery happy music, the warm and kind feelings everyone has toward each other (although wouldn’t it be nice if this was all year and just not around Christmas time??) And I just love reading those books that warm you up on a cold winters night, and I totally believe that some of the best books releases are normally in Winter so I just had to share those books that I can’t wait for and just have to share and those releases that will be rockin’ awesome

Texas Bride by Leigh Greenwood—Coming Out December 5 2017

I can’t express enough how much I adore this male author (and yes a male that writes great romances) and so I can’t wait to read this one and plus I can never resist a texas cowboy. hehe

Can’t Get Enough by Gena Showalter–Coming Out December 5 2017

Small town romances are addicting and endearing, and I will say that this newest contemporary series that Showalter has written is superb!! And I have a blast with these endearing characters that become so real to the reader. And the setting “Strawberry Valley” makes me wish I could live there.

Wolf Hunger by Paige Tyler–Coming Out December 5 2017

Paige Tyler is one of those authors that I make sure that I have 2-3 hours of free time because I can NEVER put them down and I love these PNR suspense that hook you so completely. And the whole cast of characters are so wonderful and well written.

To The Duke With Love by Amelia Grey—Coming Out December 5 2017

I haven’t read enough of Amelia Grey to make me happy. Her books are just wonderful and charming and I love red historical covers and man that male model is HOT!! 🙂

Cowboy Up by Harper Sloan—Coming Out December 19 2017

Harper Sloan is a new author to me but boy these books are fantastic. I love these western small towns that she writes and she makes me want to grab some boots, a hat and go grab a horse and ride off in the sunset.

The Highland Guardian by Amy Jarecki—Coming Out December 19 2017

Amy Jarecki is just one of those authors that I always know will be historically authentic books. So if I really want a story to be realistic and with great detail I grab this author, and this series has been a blast so far. And what a cover.

The Pines of Winder Ranch by RaeAnne Thayne—Coming Out December 26 2017

The cover alone would get me to buy this book, I mean honestly, is this scene real because sign me up!! hehe But honestly, her writing just clicks with me. I love how endearing her stories are and so poignant.

If I Should Ever Love You by Cathy Maxwell—Coming Out December 26 2017

Cathy Maxwell has always been an author I have really enjoyed reading. She writes some unique set up for her stories and I am intrigued by this new series and the idea of these spinster heriress and seeing these a bit older heroines find their HEA.

Heart On Fire by Amanda Bouchet—Coming out January 2 2018

I was fortunate to receive the ARC of this one and read this the instant I got approved and really liked it. Not as much as book one, but boy this book keeps you on the edge ofyour seat and will be a winter release you can look forward to.

Beyond Scandal and Desire by Lorraine Heath—Coming Out January 30 2018

Lorraine Heath is one of those authors that I will never give up and will always read and man I love her dress….its such a pretty blue, and I really love the blurb, it just pulled me in.

Tempest by Beverly Jenkins—Coming Out January 30 2018

Beverly Jenkins writes some of the best books in historical romance and I have been a fan girl of hers since I was a teenager and I love the diversity she brings that is really rare in romance ironically. And now we get my favorite of the three women, because I love that she is looking for love and that this features one of my favorite tropes “Mail Order Bride”. I just can’t wait to read this one.

Surrender To The Highlander by Lynsay Sands—Coming Out January 30 2018

First off, this cover is enough for me to buy it. Yep….I love it and I love sexy male models in a kilt. NOT ASHAMED hehe and man that backdrop looks more like a scene from Montana or Canada than Scotland, but I could be wrong since I have only spent one day there.

A Princess In Theory by Alyssa Cole—Coming Out February 27 2018

This new contemporary romance, is so intriguing and I can’t wait to pick another diverse author that is very new to me recently. And I do love royalty tropes and the blurb is fascinating. And such a fun flirty cover so bring on the laughs!! 🙂

True To You by Jennifer Ryan—Coming Out February 27 2018

Bring on the whole tray of boxes of tissues….this author always works my emotions so hard. So I don’t really know what I am in store for with this one, but I am very very excited.

Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas—Coming Out February 27 2018

Such a pretty if it is a more contemporary cover for a historical. However, its Lisa Kleypas so she has to be on this list because she is one of the best authors ever to write in this genre.

YES! So many great books on here. I didn’t know you liked that Showalter series,, so I’ll have to check it out. I’m so excited to read Princess in Theory just because of that cover. I normally don’t like royalty books, but this sounds fantastic.

I am definitely interested in Maxwell’s If Ever I Should Love You. I need to check that out. I’ve already read A Princess in Theory and it is AMAZING! I loved it so much. I liked Surrender to the Highlander but it’s not my favorite Sands book.

Nope on that last one since no one would wear that then

haha I hear ya!!! Even though its a pretty cover, I have mixed feelings because I want it to be authentic looking. Only the first book has a realistic dress. Avon has been doing this lately and I am not a fan of contemporary looking historical covers.

I would love to read Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas, it sounds like something I would enjoy! And that cover is gorgeous too. Cowboy Up by Harper Sloan is another one, but I rally need to read the first two books first. Ugh…

I like the cover for Hello Stranger but then I don’t because the dress is SO not historical. But the colors are so pretty.

Cowboy Up should be awesome though and I know you will love this trilogy of Harper Sloan.

I do love to cozy up under my throw blanket with a hot drink and a winter read. I have Texas Bride and Hearts on Fire for review. The Beverly Jenkins’ mail order bride and Alyssa Cole royals romance look great, too.

Yeah those are both great authors. One of these days I will read Ann Bishop and Patricia Briggs but I need a good romance so I don’t know which books of theirs would be a good start.
