Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions: Mid Year Tag

by | Jun 29, 2020 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 0 comments

The Mid Year Freak Out Book Tag is one I try to do every year since I discovered it a handful of years ago and I can’t believe we are halfway through the year….ITS CRAZY. It still feels like it should be February and not the end of June. I honestly don’t know how to react with this but say that the world is crazy and that has made time go faster than even normal. My reading this year is not what I expected but then on January 1 I never expected to see what happened to actually happen and that has impacted my reading. But I have high hopes for the second half of 2020.

Best Books Read in 2020

These were such fantastic books and quite honestly I had a hard time narrowing it down to just these even though for about two months of the year I had one of the worst SLUMPS I have ever had.

Best Sequel Read in 2020

Sequels are such fun but there haven’t been that many that I have read, but these books were such winners

New Releases You Haven’t Read But Wanted To

I tend to get behind on new releases at times, and its easy to do that considering there are so many releases every single week in romance. I swear I feel like I can’t ever keep up LOL

Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2020

There are so many good books to look forward to the rest of the year, and we are in for some goodies for sure.

Biggest Disappointment

I honestly wanted to love this one and its my second time with this author and yeah I struggled with this one. There were some elements that really ruined my enjoyment of it and affected the quality of the story. I want to love this author but I guess some things can’t be forced. Quite frankly not sure I will enjoy this author or will want to try her again. I respect her highly and admire her display of representation she shows, but I just don’t know if she is for me honestly.

Biggest Surprise

This was such a surprise of a read for me, I NEVER expected to enjoy this author like I did…..this book won my heart completely and can’t wait to dive into more from this author.

New Favorite Author

Melissa Foster….she is one I never expected to love as much as I have so far. I normally stick with traditionally published authors, so I get nervous trying authors that aren’t or independently published, but this author has won my heart so quickly!!!

Underrated Gems You’ve Discovered Recently

Rereads This Year

I have done so much re reading this year and I am sure that many of you can relate with that. But these books always seem to work for me.

Newest Fictional Crush

I am in love with the male lead….Roarke…man he is so compelling and he has so many depths that I just can’t wait to delve into!!!

Newest Favorite Character

Samson Cooper…..I ADORED this hero so much. And the type of alpha I want to see more in romance. Too many times especially in contemporary romance, alpha heroes come off as jerks. But not with KA and not with this book, Samson sets boundaries, he is successful and a leader in life, but also supports his woman and will also tell her when she is wrong, he isn’t afraid to stand up to her when its needed. Such a well-rounded hero.

Books That Made You Cry

I will be honest….what happens in the end here HAD ME BALLING IN TEARS!! Whew…this author works you good emotionally.

Books That Made You Happy

Favorite Book To Film Adaptation

I recently watched this through the Passionflix membership and I LOVED it so much. Probably my favorite other than Driven that they have done so far. I wasn’t a big fan of the appearance of the heroine in the film mostly because that wasn’t how I imagined her, but overall it was a truly wonderful adaptation and stuck true to the book.

Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought So Far This Year .

I just find such perfection in this beauty…..its still on my nightstand waiting to be read. Waiting to be in the mood for a printed format book. Love the crown, its so elegant and adore these blue tones.

What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of the Year

These books are all from my Romanceopoly Reading Challenge, I am really going to focus on these for the rest of the year. Here are my top anticipating reads for it.

Favorite Post You Have Done This Year

My favorite post….this was a difficult choice but that would probably be my tribute to Johanna Lindsey. One of the most respected authors in the genre and her death touched us all …..see it HERE

So tell me about your progress for the year so far? Are you excited with your recaps or disappointed? Have you been able to read as much as you would like? What are some of your favorite reads of the year of 2020 so far? Let me know in the comments below!!
