Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions: December/Holiday Read A Thons TBR

by | Nov 22, 2021 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 7 comments

Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions is a feature here on Addicted To Romance where there is talk of books, blogging, and reading topics….so come on in and join in on the discussion

So the next few months I will be participating in a couple of readathons and reading challenges. The first one is hosted by Caffeinate Reading….the Ho Ho Ho Readathon, and she has been hosting this for years and I look forward to it each and every time. And then we have the winter themed reading challenge that “Shelby Taggert Reads” does on Instagram. She has the most adorable challenges and templates and reading prompts. I thought about doing the historical romance readathon “Holiday Edition” but I will be honest I think I am going to stop doing genre themed readatons, they just don’t work for me that much. It can put me into a book slump and I prefer rotating out my sub genres in my reading.

I just love the vibe that this author portrays in her books and this one I am most excited for. She just delivers all my expectations for a holiday romance. I don’t even need to look at the blurb to want to pick it up.

This is a book that I have known about for years, but for some reason, I have never managed to actually pick it up. But I am really excited to delve into this one as its a Hannukah romance and I do like those books that are nonevangelical/Christian romances and to explore other winter holidays that deserve some focus too.

I have been seeing this one recommend on various booktube videos and its like a “Love Actually” theme only a bit more racially diverse. So I am highly intrigued and that cover is so festive and pretty.

I did try to read this one last year but just didn’t get around to it. I just got this from my library, so I hope to get to this one soon here. I am so excited for this one though. I love these winter-themed reads. There is something so cozy and romantic about the winter season.

I will be honest, I adored this cover, but I have heard good things about this one so looking forward to trying this one out here.

Even thought the first book wasn’t exactly my favorite, I have been wanting to explore more of these and it has a Christmas vibe to it. So *crossing fingers* this one will work out for me more.

I haven’t read this author in a while, so I definitely will be reading this one and I really like the set up of this book.

Now, this is an author I have been reading to read much more of and I haven’t. I do plan on reading this series in order, but I plan on getting to this one before the end of February (as this is more of a winter read but I do know from reviews that its best to be read in order)

This is one I have been seeing all over the romance community in different platforms and I have really enjoyed this author in the past and haven’t read a M/M romance in a while. And sounds really good.

This anthology I actually found FREE on amazon, so definitely go grab this one up while its still free. It has so many good authors so I am excited to read these.

I had no clue that this was a holiday setting and so I am definitely going to be grabbing this one up here and super excited for it. I just love how this author writes regency.

I have really been wanting some western historical romance, and I still haven’t read this one and I have been meaning to get to these ones here.

So tell me ……do you have any fun readathons or reading challenges you will be participating in this season? Any top books on your TBR? Let me know in the comments below!

I need to read A Wright Christmas. I liked the series (and have the book). I want to put a hold for the Thayne book at the library too. It looks like it will give me the warm fuzzies.

I actually hadn’t planned on participating in a challenge because I didn’t want to chance falling in a slump. But now… after this post… with so many lovely holiday reads out there… I just might. I hope you have a blast with the prompts 🙂 ?

I am sure you would enjoy A Wright Christmas. I have Dreaming of A White Wolf Christmas on my TBR for a while now. Hope to get to it during the holiday season.

I am doing the #HoHoHoRAT, too. Love it each year. I also do the COYER (Clean Off Your E-Reader) Challenge for the year and there are several RATs as well so I’m doing those. No other holiday ones. I’ve read the JR Ward and the Western antho on your list and loved them both. I just finished two fab holiday ones- A Cowboy Christmas Legend by Linda Broday and The Secret of Snow by Viola Shipman.

Good luck on your challenges, Renee!

I’ve never done a read-a-thon. The idea of doing one scares me. LOL… especially lately. I find that I can’t make myself read, even when I have free time. Good luck with yours!

I’m not doing anything structured, and I reserve the right to change my mind (LOL), but I think I’m going to spend December randomly diving into my Kindle and focusing on random, languishing holiday romances. I have bunches of them, and mostly in category romance. Added bonus is that shorter reads should help me hit my GoodReads Challenge reading goal!
