As for many of us, as I think this is a human element….we always strive to be better than ourselves and this is why goals and resolutions are something that just come natural to us but I do think we are going to see less resolutions for this year. After the nightmare that we had to deal with in 2020, I just think we are all fearful to even try to make plans for anything. However, I have made some goals for my reading and for the blog.
- Read More, Watch Less–This past year I have been consumed by streaming services and they have been a nice distraction from life and all the stress of this year. My plan is to cancel all of them even Prime because I really only use Amazon for kindle books. I am trying to buy more from small businesses since they are the ones suffering the most from the pandemic and need all the support! So my plan is to read way more. I set my Goodreads Challenge at 350 but quite frankly I plan on going way higher than that. I want to immerse myself into books way more. I am planning on reading differently though. This past year I have tended to read in genre lines….so read lots of contemporary in a row or paranormal in a row and I want to get away from that because I think that is part of the reason why I get into slumps at times. So I want to explore all the various genres and read upon my mood. I won’t be doing a TBR for the month or even the year. That just isn’t working for me right now, I am going to be more of an impulsive reader this year and see how that works out for me.
- Clean Up The Blog—There are still many things I want to do better at with my site. I still have a year of book reviews I need to convert to the UBB system, I want to finish up the time era’s for my recommendation section and be more consistent at updating my landing page (which I will be doing bi monthly minimum)
- Healthy Life, Healthy Mind, Happy Self-So I have really let myself go this year and its something I want to be better at. I refuse to go to the gym with a mask though, its like torture LOL I have no clue how ppl actually do it to be honest. So I am going to figure out a way to do workouts at home and I do want to be more balanced in my eating habits. I need to start restricting the carbs and sugar.
- Goodreads and LibraryThing-So I love both of these sites and they each have their pros and cons and I want to do more on them. Until there is a decent competitor for them, I will be sticking with both. I do want to start transferring my shelves over to LibraryThing, their shelving system is SO much better than what Goodreads has and I swear I am always missing books on Goodreads. But I do want to be more sociable in my interactions on Goodreads/Instagram and YouTube.
