Tea and Biscuits Book Discussion: Christmas Reads YOU Need

by | Dec 12, 2016 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 17 comments

I wanted to share with you the books I would most likely recommend if you looking for a good Christmas/Winter theme romance especially as the holidays get closer. Last week I got to talk about what was on my list to read for this Holiday season, today I wanted to share my personal favorites that have developed over the years.

Believe by Victoria Alexander

I had a chance to pick this up a few years ago, and every time I look back on reading this one brings back wonderful memories of that beautifully written romance. Its a story that deals with quite a variety of topics. Time Travel….Knights in Shining Armor, back to the myths of Merlin.

The Present by Johanna Lindsey

This is a story that Malory fans long awaited for and is quite a wonderful story. I love the way that Lindsey wrote this book, and is quite perfect. Its a warm festive romance that has a historical story with a gypsy love story, plenty of fun times with our Malory family whom we adore and love.

A McKettrick Christmas by Linda Lael Miller

This is quite a exciting and fun holiday romance. I really liked how this author wrote this book. It is strongly connected to the Mckettrick series, I love the set up of the story with a avalanche hitting the train and two people fall in love with the crisis by helping the survivors.

All Through The Night by Suzanne Brockmann

If your familiar with this series than you know how this author can make you fall in love!!! If you are a fan of M/M romance and the holiday season romances, than I do highly recommend trying this out.

Christmas At Twilight

I LOVE the way Lori Wilde writes her romances, but her holiday themes are simply amazing. They always make me want to go on sleigh rides, and hunt the woods for a real christmas tree and go caroling to all the neighbors!!! So if you love small town Christmas romances, this one is for you.

All I Want For Christmas Is A Vampire

I simply love and adore this author, and the humor is FAB!!!! If you love PNR romances, than I would recommend this especially if you have a weakness for vampire romances. And this is one of my favorite books of the series with some festive settings to improve whatever mood you are in.

A Highlander Christmas by Janet Chapman

If you love great humor, sexy highlanders and a contemporary setting in a small town community….this is a must read. And as long as you know the back story to the series, you can read it as a stand a lone. Janet Chapman is entertaining and this series is the best she has ever written. I love the way she wrote this book, its charming and sweet and witty.

A Season Of Seduction by Jennifer Haymore

Now I just want to say that this author does so dang good when writing her regency romances!!! They are fun and engaging and balanced enough to satisfy any HR lover. And this book, was the first book I picked up from her and such a lovely Christmas read!!! I love the Christmas English Traditions we are introduced to in this one and such a sensual and warm romance too!! So its a win win

A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas

This is one of those reads that I HAVE to read every single year and I never regret it. It takes me back to the love I have for these couples and this series. I love getting in touch with them again and for the winter season and the fun antics that are involved.

A Visit From Sir Nicholas

I know I mentioned this one last week, however today’s post is about my personal favorites and I own this book so that should tell you how much I really love this one. Its the perfect book if you love Charles Dickens and the Christmas Carol. There is so much fun festivities and holiday traditions

Probably my favorite Christmas romance is The MacGregor Brides by Nora Roberts. I don’t read it every year, but I read it pretty often around this time of year. My favorite is the last story with Julie. A Wallflower Christmas is amazing! I should really re-read that one.

So many great titles. 🙂 I adore Lori Wilde’s writing and like you, her Christmas stories are always a winner for me. I’ve been meaning to snag the Suzanne Brockman Troubleshooter series so I’m happy to see you enjoyed it! Each Christmas I look for books by Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis, Mary Balogh, Mary Jo Puttney, RaeAnne Thayne, and Sheila Roberts. (I’m sure I’m forgetting some…)

Thanks for sharing your recommendations! I actually have read very few Christmas reads so far, some good, some just okay. I am currently reading The Trouble with Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis, which is very good. A Wallflower Christmas sounds promising, it must be a good one if you re-read it each year. I am pretty sure I read All I Want For Christmas Is A Vampire, I really enjoyed that series and it was one of my first adult paranormal romances I read. Still have fond memories of it. I think I only read the first 5 books though.
