Tea and Biscuits Book Discussion: Books I didn’t get to in 2016 but WILL in 2017

by | Dec 26, 2016 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 11 comments

There were so many book releases this past year that I wasn’t able to get to, but I plan on getting to this year. This past year was pretty crazy for me, so many changes, and didn’t get to read as much as I wanted to. But hopefully this year will be way better. And get to some books that I have been just DYING to read!!! What about you? Were there books that you weren’t able to get to but plan on for the upcoming year.

Cream Of the Crop by Alice Clayton

Even though I just read my first book from Alice Clayton, this book has been on my radar since I read the first reviews on it when it first came out. I really love the set up of the story and both characters sound enchanting. I do love the idea of a grumpy farmer hero. I was really intrigued because I love seeing a city girl and a country boy get together. It works so well for romances.

Smoke and Fire by Donna Grant

I have truly had a blast with this series and probably my favorite work that Donna Grant has done. I love how she has handled this series and its very different from any other paranormal series I have read. I love this group of dragons, who are trying to protect the human race while trying to defeat a great evil threat to them, an evil that killed thousands of their kind. I have adored each book, because the series just intensifies and adds more mystery. So I am curious to see what she does with this book.

The Good, The Bad and the Vampire

I have so much love for this author, each book I read from her is simply wonderful. When I read the previous book last year, I knew that this one would be a winner. And I love those sexy vampires and add to that a cowboy—sign me right up for that!!! I can’t wait to get to know this hero.

The Viscount and the Vixen by Lorraine Heath

Lorraine Heath is one of my favorite authors, and for some reason I just never got around to reading this one yet. I love the way that Heath handles each book that she writes, always unique plots and great emotional connection between the story and the reader.

Duke of Sin by Elizabeth Hoyt

I do love a good anti hero and from what I hear Hoyt handles it so. I love those “good” bad boys and I am intrigued by the whole set up with the heroine posing in secret. I have grown to love each book in this series, and Hoyt is one of those authors that handles the era so well. She keeps the books fresh and lively and still historically sound. Just love that.

MacLean’s Passion by Sharon Cullen

Good ole’ Sharon Cullen and ever since I first discovered this author, I fell in love very quickly with her work. She is a author that handles scottish highlanders so brilliantly.  What I love most about this author is how she handles the historical elements. She stays true to historical events and the culture, and I like that I never have to worry about it seeming too “modern” but not too tough of topics to read either. Real, heartfelt and romantic. Who else is a fan of Cullen’s work?

Make Me Love You by Johanna Lindsey

Good Ole Johanna Lindsey. From what I know, this is a stand alone, not a huge fan of the cover but I love this authors work and every time I read her I fall in love. This is regency based, so if you want to try her out, maybe join me in reading this one this year. This author is wonderful to read so I can’t wait to pick this one up.

The Ghost by Monica McCarty

Monica McCarty has done such a wonderful job with this series….I love the idea of a SEAL like scotland team and I can’t wait to read Ghost’s story.  It has been wonderful seeing the way this series has grown over the years.

Happily Bedded Bliss by Tracy Anne Warren

I have fallen a bit behind on this author, but I just adore her work. She writes fun and sweet romances that make you want more. And after reading Anna from Herding Cats review of this one, I knew I needed to pick it up.

If I Only Had A Duke by Lenora Bell

I have had my eye on this book ever since it became released!!! And I can’t wait to read it especially after just reading book one. If this book is anything like her debut…I am in for a fun and romantic time.

A Date At The Altar by Cathy Maxwell

oh YES finally, we the the Duke’s story. I have long awaited to see him get his HEA for the whole series and I love the idea behind this one. I have really enjoyed what Maxwell has done with the first two books, and her writing is fun and playful.

Reaper’s Fire by Joanna Wylde

Oh yes I can hardly wait to read this one!!! Wylde has done wonders with this series, and even though they aren’t for everyone but these books really give me all the feels. And I am really excited for this one, and seeing how this author tackle some tough topics.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

I have heard SO many good things about this book, and I just love a good enemies to lovers trope and I hope I will love it just as much as everyone else has.

Magic Binds by Illona Andrews

Yes I haven’t picked this one up yet, but I have been meaning to get around to it and I can’t wait to see more of Curran and Kate and what they are up against. This writing team has done a brilliant job with this series. These two are one of my all time favorite couples to read.

I have heard so many people rave about The Hating Game! But I was not a fan of Alice Clayton. Her books just don’t work for me at all! But you have some interesting books on this list I will have to check out!

I haven’t read The Hating Game either even though almost everyone has fantastic things to say about it. I also want to read more Elizabeth Hoyt. I loved Dearest Rogue so much!

I have heard great things about The Hating Game too! I have soooo many books that I swore I’d read in 2016… and of course, have not. Hell, I have those books from 2015, 2014, 2013… I sense a pattern 😉 I hope you get to read yours next year!!

I can’t wait to see what you think of each of these, Renee. The Hating Game is on my list for next year as is Duke of Sin. I need to work at catching up in the Reapers series as well as Kate and Curran. 🙂
