Tea and Biscuits Book Discussion: Blogging Firsts Tag

by | Jul 20, 2020 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 0 comments

Tea and Biscuits is a weekly meme post where there is talk of topics ranging from blogging to read and anything in between. So come and join in on the discussion and share your thoughts and ideas and lets DISCUSS!!!

So today I want to try out a tag that I saw through my feedly commenting cycle over this past week…its from the blog “Never Not Reading Blog”  and this is where you focus on all of your blogging firsts and I haven’t done this before and it sounded like such fun. I have been blogging for over ten years, so my blogging firsts was such a different experience than for many bloggers today. But lets take a walk down memory lane and there are some of you who have been with me through all of it and will recognize some of these and many won’t but came take a look with me as to what blogging was for me back then.

1st Name/Design

This was my first design when I was with blogger, and I loved this so much I had it for over five years. There are times when I still miss this design, it had such a romantic feel to it and I loved the warm red colors. I never had a header or anything fancy, quite frankly design back then was EXPENSIVE and I just couldn’t afford it and there weren’t hardly any resources like there are today for design.

1st Blog Post

This post was such a fun meme and the first one I ever did and for years I did it. I haven’t done it in years but I still miss doing it. It was called “Teaser Tuesday” and for those unaware of this meme….it was where you would share a short snippet of your current read that was a “teaser” for the book you were reading. And by the way The Duke In Disguise is one of my favorite historical’s written!!

1st Likes, Comments and Follows

My first like was from Mandi @ Smexy Books “I can’t wait for this book! What Happens in London was one of my fav books of 2009!” It was from a post “Waiting On Wednesday” where I featured a book I was excited for at the time—Ten Things I Love About You by Julia Quinn. The moment I got this comment from Mandi…..I followed her back immediately and we started commenting back and forth and building a friendship. I haven’t heard from her in years, I know her life and blog keeps her so busy …but I still adore her and all she has been able to accomplish. But we still keep in contact through Goodreads.

1st Book Review

This was my first book that I reviewed for the blog, I purchased this at B&N and LOVED every minute and I believe I still have this copy, even ten years later. Such a wonderful read—you can read my original review HERE

1st Discussion Post

I never did a discussion post until I became self hosted and started doing my own memes. The first one I established actually was this meme you are currently reading “Tea and Biscuits” I wanted a meme to talk various romance, blogging, book issues and build conversations with people I admire and support me so much. My first post was:

Here is the link if you want to check it out: What Genres Makes Us…..this was a post where I discussed how various genres of books we read define us in our lives.

1st Book Blog I Followed

The first book blog I followed was from Romance Rookie …this blog is actually what gave me the idea to have a book blog in the first place. I had no idea there was such things and I was in all the way. I live in a place where romance readers are rare, so to be part of a community that shared not only my love of books but ROMANCE? It was like a miracle for me. I could share my ideas, thoughts and opinions on romance without feeling shamed and be supported by so many amazing people who have blessed my life over the years.

1st Review Copy

Well I can say that my first review copy didn’t happen for a few years until I received an invite from Avon through Edelweiss. It was year 2013 I believe or was it 2012? I honestly don’t remember. But I remember loving this book!!!

Thank you for joining me on my stroll down memory lane and the 1st’s journey’s into blogging.
