Being Lucifer’s daughter can be hell.
Hi, I’m Muriel, the only white sheep in a sea of black ones, and a virgin to boot. I am determined to wait for love, but my dad, more commonly known as Lucifer, just wants me to stop being an embarrassment. I’m hoping the hunk that I met in my bar will turn out to be the one–just looking at him makes my insides melt like marshmallows over the coals of hell, but trusting is hard when it seems everyone I get close to ends up trying to kill me.
Not only am I dealing with an extreme case of lust, there’s a new threat in hell, one my dad says to ignore. Something easier said than done since it seems everywhere I turn demons are trying to kill me. But I’m okay with that, because one thing I’ve learned being a princess of hell is that sometimes I have to grab a demon by the horns and slap it around a bit.
A rebellion in hell, demon assassins and scorching kisses, could my life get any more interesting?
In Lucifer’s Daughter we have a beginning of a series that took my breath away and is very rare for a freebie on amazon. But its Eve Langlais so I don’t know why I am so surprised. I will say that this is NOT a book to take seriously. Folks….just laugh and cry along with this story because its meant to have fun with and entertain. In this book we have a story about a young woman, who doesn’t quite fit in to the norm of what is expected of her. Muriel is Lucifer’s daughter, and unlike her siblings, she doesn’t want to go down the dark and dreary path of hell. She is a virgin, and is waiting for the right man and for love. Her father is appalled that his beloved daughter is so unlike him. And the one man that Muriel falls madly for, is the last man that Lucifer would ever choose for his daughter.
This was a highly entertaining book that kept me laughing and lively all the way through. I do not mind the whole “virgin” element at all, I feel like its rarely used anymore and it definitely worked for this book. We see a heroine that is striving to mostly be “good” and she wants a lasting relationship and not mindless sex that has no meaning. So brava for her, its what is important for her and she stands her ground and I loved that about her. She isn’t afraid of standing up for what she believes in and I admired this quality in her.And her relationship with her father is so hilarious. I love seeing how they interact with each other.
“You’re making me look like a bad parent. My minions in Hell are mocking me. There have even been rumors I’m no longer fit to be the Father of All Sin since I can’t even control my own daughter.” “Whatever happened to being rewarded for rebellions against our parents? I thought that was a huge sin.” “Rebelling with kind acts and the truth wasn’t what I had in mind!”
Lucifer’s brows shot up. “What do you mean you just talked? Where is this idiot? I’m going to have a talk with him about defiling my daughter. Maybe he needs pointers.” “Dad!” I squealed. “That is so gross. And he doesn’t need any help. I told you I’m not having sex until I’m in love.”
I truly had a blast with this book because it had plenty of smexiness, laughter, adventure and suspense and a teaser in the end but our couple gets their happy ending. The only downside I had for this book, was after reading learning about the rest of the books in the series that revolve around this heroine. I am not sure if I will continue in the series, since each book she adds on a new man to sleep with. And boy am I super picky about menage set ups and not sure it will work for me but I am so curious about what will happen with the villains in the story.
Overall, this book was a fun and sexy story that didn’t disappoint and made me realize why I love this author’s style of writing. Be ready to be entertained.
I saw it was free and was all MINE
Did you say free?!!
Renee this looks so good! Great review!
I grabbed this freebie too 🙂
I LOVE Eve. I’ve been working my way through her books for a while now. This was my first book by her and I really enjoyed it. Her stories aren’t very deep, but they are a lot of fun. I pick her up whenever I need a laugh, because I know she will deliver. Glad you enjoyed this one.
