In the new Leopard novel by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Cat’s Lair and Leopard’s Prey, passions explode like wildfire when a young woman’s feral instincts are ignited by a man who’s too dangerous not to desire…
A simple request for Siena Arnotto: deliver a gift to her grandfather’s friend. One look at Elijah Lospostos, hard-bodied and stripped to the waist, and Siena succumbs to a feline stirring she never felt before, and to Elijah’s reckless and pleasurable demands. But when that pulse-throbbing moment ends in the murder of an unexpected intruder, Elijah accuses the shaken and confused Siena of setting him up.
Then Siena discovers the truth of her Leopard heritage, of the secrets in her grandfather’s inner circle, and the sinister plot of revenge that has put her in jeopardy. When Siena’s grandfather is assassinated, she realizes the only man she can trust is Elijah. Now as her Leopard rises from within, Siena and Elijah share not only an animal instinct for survival—but a desire so raw and wild it may be the only thing that can save them.

My Review

Summary

Siena Arnotto, is a young woman that was raised by her grandfather. Recently she has been starting to feel different. Her grandfather’s right-hand man has been making her nervous even though she has known him since she was a teenager. Her grandfather asks her to send a friend of his a birthday gift of wine. When she arrives, it’s Elijah Lospostos, a man she has always had a crush on. Upon her arrival into his home, heat succumbs them and they have passionate sex on his foyer floor. Suddenly an enemy arrives and attempts to kill Elijah and Elijah blames Siena in taking part of it and pushes her out the door. Shocked and uncertain, Siena returns home. Only to come home to be abused by her grandfather’s right-hand man…the man her grandfather is trying to push her into marrying. Then her grandfather is murdered and she believes she knows who is at fault. So she flees in search of someone to protect her and runs into Elijah again. Only to find herself embracing her wild side of the leopard that has always been a part of her. She is attacked and practically mauled and Elijah steps in and saves the day. There are mixed emotions on both sides….but with Elijah and Siena living under the same room; neither of them can deny what they are feeling for each other.

The Hero

Elijah Lospostos didn’t have the easiest of childhood. He was raised by a mob family….was taught how to handle a knife when he was a child and knew how to break a neck and kill someone at a young age. He was forced to do despicable things. He got out as soon as he could and formed an alliance with his friends and formed his elite business. Elijah is a hard man, he was shaped by the worst of the worst….but at the heart has still managed to become a loyal and honorable man. Elijah makes mistakes and his largest one is when it comes to Siena Arnotto. He has always held an attraction to Siena and is driven to claim her. Elijah was a hero that if you love Alpha Males….then you will fall madly in lust with him. He is dominating, controlling, possessive and jealous.

“Believe me, baby, you belong to me. I don’t give up what’s mine.”

He is stubborn but driven and determined. I really loved seeing his bond with his friends—Drake, Rafe, Joshua.

The Heroine

Siena Arnotto lost her parents and ended up being raised by her grandfather. She knows that she is loved by her grandfather, but was sent away to boarding school and hasn’t seen much of his business. But now she has returned to live with him, and there are certain aspects that make her nervous and unsure. Her grandfather’s right-hand man, Paolo, makes her nervous with his sexual sneers and looks that practically undress her. She can’t stand to be around him and her grandfather expects her to marry him. But when the worst happens, and her grandfather is murdered…she is being hunted and her only salvation is her teenage crush Elijah Lospostos. Siena was a heroine that I liked reading for the most part but not completely. She is very sweet and nurturing, but she was a fighter at times. My only problem with her is I felt like she should have stood up to Elijah more. It quite didn’t quite fit with who she is in the beginning and then how she is toward the end. I would have liked to see more backbone when it came to Elijah. What I loved about her was her sense of humor and her carefree and playfulness.

Plot and Story Line

Wild Cat is the latest addition to the Leopard People series. I will admit that even though I liked this one, it had the same tone that the previous book had. I will say that the first few books of the series are still my favorite. But I did enjoy reading this one way more than Cat’s Lair but I will warn you that it has a more erotic feel to it than an actual romance which is the theme for the whole series. They are probably the most erotic books this author has ever written. And even though this aspect has bothered me a bit….there is still some great aspects to this book that I enjoyed.

In Wild Cat, we have Elijah’s story….Elijah is a character we have seen in most of the books of the series so it was great to finally have his book. Although I will say that Joshua is the one character I am most looking forward to. What was really most thrilling about this story, was seeing the suspense side of things. We have our villain “Paolo” who is one scary dude. Like honestly he should be shredded into tiny pieces. He was one horrible character, and even though he makes a great villain I would never want him to be real. He is one evil man and it is heartbreaking with what he does to Siena. She is one tough cookie though when it comes to him. She stands up to Paolo even when she knows it may cost her dearly.

The friendship between the friends especially Drake and Rafe is pretty sweet and we see them and their wives into the story. It was fabulous to see their bond to each other and get a revisit with these couples and their children. My favorite is Drake and Emma and their interactions with each other and the group of friends. It was quite fun to see Joshua (who we see quite a bit of in Savage Nature) and I am hoping we see more of him in future books.

The romance between these two is blazing hot but is mixed in with some sweet and poignant moments. Moments of heartbreak, forgiveness and true emotion.

I live in Hell, Siena. That’s my world and I have no fucking right to drag you down with me, but I can’t stop myself. You’re the one thing in my life that’s worth anything. I can’t let go of you, no matter how much I know I should. I’m not that strong. You are innocent and beautiful. Your body is. Your mind is. Your heart and soul. You gave yourself to me, Siena. You chose me and I’m going to do everything in my power, with everything that I am, to protect you. To cherish you.

A passionate adventure to savor!!

The Cover

I really like the leopard effect that it shows on here. It unique and different and even though I am not a fan of the model since in the book she CAN’t have straight hair…its long and full of waves. But I love any cover with felines in it especially those gorgeous big cats.

Overall View

Wild Cat is a sensually woven romance that will keep the blood pumping in suspense, your heart rate up with the sexual tension and will give you thrills and chills down the spine in every moment in between!! SIZZLING AND ACTION PACKED!!

You always manage to tempt me with your reviews, Renee! This is yet another series I have on my ‘maybe’ shelf, and I’m starting to wonder why it’s there, and not on my TBR instead.
    I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend.

haha thanks!! It is my job to do that you know??!! I really think this is a series you would love and each of the books can be read stand alone’s as well (but if you can read it in order than that wouldn’t be a bad thing either), and are only loosely connected to each other. But the level of heat it is has is right up your alley. Be careful though or you might get addicted LOL

I agree with Lexxie – your reviews want me to add books to my TBR but its already about to topple over. Feehan is hugely popular at our library, though. I remember how we couldn’t keep her backlist copies in storage! What we had was falling apart from too many reads.

Do you think Feehan is trying to compete with all the other “hot” erotic books coming out lately? I mean, PNR has always been hotter than typical contemp but… Hmmm, who knows??

haha yeah Feehan is pretty fabulous and my library has all of her books as well. She has been popular for quite a while now and was one of the first authors to write in PNR so she is highly respected. And she is a personal favorite because she got me hooked into this genre.

I don’t think she is trying to compete. Because her others books don’t have this level of heat. And many of the other books in this series, including the earlier books which were published over five years ago. So I think its just how she decided to write the whole series….but that is just my opinion. But I have looked at her other recent releases and they don’t seem to have more heat than what she normally does. And she doesn’t seem to be the type of author that cares about that. She already has a large fan base and won’t change her writing style just because its what certain readers want. Which I have really liked about her. She stays true to what she really wants to write.

So I would highly recommend her to anyone!! She writes great romances with a good balance of heat and emotional intimacy.

I haven’t read this series but I like the idea of a wereleopard. Your summary makes it sound like quite a soap opera. Would this book work as a stand alone or do I need to read previous books?

Oh I love Leopards especially in shifter romances….mostly because they are one of my favorite shifters to read about. and I love the Leopards as an animal too. This can be read as a stand alone for sure its only loosely connected to the previous books.

oh I know it can be easy to get behind on her!! But she is one of those auto buy and read authors so I manage to keep up but I found her years ago so I have just kept up with all of her releases. But she is one of those authors that pops out a new book every few months.

I haven’t tried this author, but I have wanted to. I am just not sure where to start??

oh you should try her out!!! Well what I would do is look at the different series she has and see what interests you the most and start with that. I would probably recommend the Ghostwalker series or The Drake Sisters–the first book in the series is shorter -only about 100 pages. But each series she has done is amazing. I got hooked on the carpathian series but its a really long series. So it just depends on where you want to start first.

you know we have them in French but I think they stopped the publishing process for the series, not enough sales. I haven’t tried her myself but heard a lot about the novels. I really should try book 1 one day!
