The Underwater Kingdom is His as Soon as He Claims His Queen...Rod Tritone has the looks and charm to snag any queen he wants for his Mer kingdom, but unfortunately, it's not up to him. As fate would have it, the one woman destined to rule with him is terrified of water...

She Lives in Land-Locked Kansas and has No Idea She's a Princess...Valerie Dumere thinks Rod is gorgeous and irresistible - but why does he keep insisting she has another side to herself that only he can show her?

Somehow, Rod has to prove to her who she really is. But when she finds out the truth, will she ever forgive him?

In Wild Blue Under we have a story of self discovery and love and taking a leap of faith. Our hero, is a prince and heir to the council of the great city Atlantis in the Mer Kingdom. He lives and breathes the water, the sea is his life. But the gods need him to partake on a task, a task that could save the world. His task is to bring home a young woman who has no idea that she is a mermaid, and to have her embrace her heritage, the only problem is she leaves very far from the sea and Rod will have to get legs for a short time to bring her back to claim her inheritance. When he finds her however, she isn’t what he expects. He realizes that his job will be a lot harder than he ever thought it would be, and with a danger seeking them both, Rod soon discovers a love and that he never wants to let Valerie go even if it costs him his life under the sea forever…

Wild Blue Under is a wonderful story that I embraced quite quickly. Its a very fast and quick story that lets you escape reality for a time and boy did I love this book. Its not an epic romance, or one that will knock you socks off. However its a enjoyable and very entertaining story that I couldn’t get enough of. What I have admired about this authors work is her humor. Her writing is very engaging and quick witted and you just want more and more of it. And man all the bantering that we see and not JUST among the main characters is quite hilarious. What with our talking seagulls. Normally second characters that you love aren’t talking birds that are creative, funny and handles tough situations and an obsession with salty fries!! hehe  I do love a solid mermaid romance, and this book ended in such a wonderful way. Our heroine is very confused through much of the book though, which is understandable. She starts to experience things she never really thought that she would have to or never even imagined were real. Rod is very patient, only giving her small bits of information at a time, knowing she would never believe him if he told her the whole truth of who she really is and her destiny. But seeing these two come together, and become true partners was quite sweet. Rod and Valerie just made me smile and kept me happy. Their relationship is the contented type of romance that you don’t always see in this genre. It had a very realistic quality to it which I gravitated towards. Of course we have other elements that made this book seem lighthearted and just plain FUN!!

Wild Blue Under is a story of magic under the sea, a heartwarming and lively story to warm you up and keep you wanting more!!

About Judi Fennell

I have been writing for as long as I can remember, winning my first writing award in a second grade Caldecott Medal contest. Readers' Digest gave me my very first publishing credit in April, 1994, and I was hooked. I seemed to have followed writing contests around, being a finalist in such online contests as American Title III, sponsored by Romantic Times BOOKreview Magazine and Dorchester Publishing, and two First Chapters contests, sponsored by Gather.com and Simon & Schuster/Pocket Books.
My imaginary friend was Casper the Friendly Ghost. The little ghoul even had a special place set for him at our dinner table and got blamed for many of my childhood mishaps. I grew up watching Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie and The Addams Family--my mom looked like Elizabeth Montgomery and I had a special Barbie outfit that looked like Morticia Addams' dress. My favorite books are Bewitching by Jill Barnett and A Knight In Shining Armor, by Jude Devereaux, so it should come as no surprise that I like to write tongue-in-cheek lighthearted paranormals.
I love pop culture and manipulating language, so you'll find lots of puns, double entrendre, plays-on-words, alliteration, clichés, and twisting of phrases, as well as several one-liners in my stories that give me a few chuckles. I studied Spanish at Penn State (Go Lions!), lived in Spain and traveled throughout that beautiful country.
I've always written and still have my journal from fourth grade where, even then, my stories were full of fantastical creatures, whimsy and magic. I wrote my first romance in 9th grade and still have that story in my memory chest. Even back then I dreamed of being a writer.
Now with kids, a husband, a house, a social life (Go Survivor Girls!), and two cocker spaniels named Vixen and Raven, I get to live my dream of being a writer!

I’ve only read YA mermaid romances so that’s different. I love humor too.

I don’t think I have ever read a mermaid book. I wonder why? This sounds like a good read.
