Three Brothers. One Oath.No Compromises. The MEN of LEGEND

The OutlawOutlaw Luke Weston survives by his wits. On the run for a murder he didn't commit, the last thing he needs is to go looking for more trouble. But when Luke stumbles across a fiercely beautiful woman struggling against two heavily armed men, it's obvious that trouble has found him.

After all, he never could resist a damsel in distress.

Josie Morgan's distressed, all right―and hopping mad. She has no idea why she's been kidnapped...or who she is...or why her body melts for the mysterious gunslinger who saved her life. But as the lost memories come tumbling back together, Josie is faced with the stark reality of why she and Luke can never be...even as her heart is telling her she will always be his.

To Marry A Texas Outlaw is a beautiful well written story from a new favorite author of mine. Historical westerns are a bit of a forgotten art, and I love that Linda Broday has brightened up this sub genre in romance and the way she writes these cowboys and ranchers and bad boys of sorts are sexy as all get out. Now I will say that I do wish I had started with book one and I have no idea why I didn’t. *banging head against the wall*.

So what is this story about may you ask? well let me tell you the basics. This book features the third brother, who is an outlaw and running from the law. However our hero was framed for a crime that he didn’t commit and is on the hunt for the man who can clear him so he can return home.  But when he starts to close in, he stumbles across an injured woman who has lost her memories and is covered with blood. Luke is not the type of man to abandon a woman in need. She doesn’t have any idea who she is, and obviously she has suffered a recent trauma. So as they go in search of clues to find out her past and see if anything triggers her memory, they stumble across a young boy and his dog that are on the run from his abusive uncle. Luke is overwhelmed because he is now responsible for a woman and boy who are in danger and his time is running out.

I can’t say how much I adored this book, it was simply exciting and full of adventure and these road trip adventure romances rock and Linda Broday is one of those authors that are so talented at it. I love the way that this plot develops from the beginning of seeing the hero find the heroine, and then discover a young boy that has been abused and seeing him just grow in healing and become a smart and funny little boy. And the animals…..if you like dogs and cats…this book is definitely for you. Because they were just the cherry on top for this book. A grown up dog and a kitten do NOT get along hehe so seeing them introduced and boy what chaos they create just adds a lighter side to a more serious sided plot of the story. the family that we are introduced to here with his father and his two brothers was so addictive. I just couldn’t get enough of this sweet family. I love how even though Luke is the “loner” type, his father and brothers are so protective and never give up on him. We see the way that Luke looks at himself. He was born as a bastard, and so he doesn’t consider himself a true member of the family. However what was a plus, was seeing how his family doesn’t feel that way. They treat him normally and would sacrifice their own lives for him and I love seeing that family loyalty.

The romance that builds between Luke and Josie was engaging and I wanted more of these two. I think what I love is how right they are for each other. Josie isn’t a passive heroine. She is progressive, and is smart even though she has lost her memory, she is devoted to Luke and is working her way to convince Luke to give them a chance. Because Luke is so focused on his current condition, of being in danger from the law and doesn’t want to risk giving Josie more because he doesn’t want her to have to mourn him. So we see a bit of a test of wills between the two and seeing the growth emotionally in their relationship. Now I will say what was unique, was that they have sex earlier on in the book which is rare for a HR western and then the later half of the story the focus is more on the emotional intimacy and the climax of the plot and so much suspense and danger and I was on the edge of my seat, it was simply mind blowing picking up this book and falling so in love with these easy to love characters.

Overall….this western sexy romance is thrilling, edgy, endearing and packed of elements that come together in a spendid mix of romance and passion!!

About Linda Broday

I live in the Texas Panhandle on land they call the Llano Estacado where the Native Americans once roamed. History is so thick here with the ghosts of the people who settled this land. I love writing western historical romance and can't imagine writing anything else. I love a man in a Stetson and tight pants. Cowboys also get me fired up.

Thank you, Addicted to Romance! Your kind words warm my heart. Of the brothers, Luke was the one so wounded so I had to give him a happy ending that would blow readers’ minds. I cried so much while writing this. Luke tugged at my heartstrings even from Book 1 when I introduced him. I’m so glad the story didn’t disappoint. And now from here, I’m moving on to a new series called Texas Outlaw Legends. The end of To Marry a Texas Outlaw leads into it. Happy Reading!

Oh yay….the buddies of his that were outlaw’s too?? I just can’t wait. This book was pretty emotional at times, but I did love that. And the father cracked me up, he was awesome. Glad you enjoyed the review. 🙂

Stoker Legend really adds a lot to the story. He cracked me up too. I used him a lot in the story and showed the depth of his love for his sons. A lot of readers wanted me to write his story but my editor said no. He’s too old for most romance readers who like them young. I guess we’ll just have to settle for the brothers. Ha! A big sacrifice!

Hi Lily B………I think it’s time you read a western. You might become addicted. *wink* This Legend family reminded me of the old TV westerns in a lot of ways. This family is so committed to each other, sure they fight some, but when trouble comes they stand united as one. Luke and Josie are a great couple and their love will melt you. Have a great weekend.

Hi Carole’s Random Life……I’m so glad you enjoyed Houston’s book and I hope you enjoy this one too. To Marry a Texas Outlaw wraps up everything. All the questions are answered. You know, I love putting animals in my stories. They just add so much richness. There is a black cat (Raphael) and a scruffy dog (Rowdy) that you’ll fall in love with.

I started with book two, Houston’s story, and wished the same thing. 😉

Loved this one and I was really anticipating it. Josie was a hoot, and yeah, the animal antics made me laugh. 🙂

Thank you, Sophia Rose. I’m so glad you enjoyed the book. Josie was so funny. In fact, she’s the funniest character I’ve ever written. But Luke needed to laugh. That man is way too serious. She made me giggle at times. Especially that saloon song she sang to Luke.

Lovely review! I’ve had my eye on this series and now I know I need to pick it up. 🙂 I love that the family kind of closes ranks around the hero, looking out for him and that he sounds honorable and protective. If that hadn’t sold me on it then the inclusion of cute animals would have. LOL!
