A routine mission…
Sean Taggart is hunting a deadly terrorist, and his only lead is the lovely Grace Hawthorne. She's the executive assistant for an employment agency Sean suspects is a front for illegal activities. To get the truth, he is going to have to get very close to Grace, a task he is all too eager to undertake when he discovers her deliciously submissive nature.
…turns into a dangerous seduction.
Soon, Grace Hawthorne is living a double life. By day, she is the widowed mother of two college-aged sons. By night, she submits to Sean's every dark desire. She's living out her wildest fantasies of pleasure—intimate acts of trust she's only read about. As passion engulfs her, a murderer strikes, and Grace learns that Sean has a deeply hidden agenda. Will Sean choose his mission and break her heart or be the Master of her dreams?

 Summary

Sean Taggert works for his brother in hunting terrorists cells for the government. They are ex military, tough and get the mission done. Sean’s target is to get to Grace Hawthorne, their targets secretary. She is different from any other woman he has encountered. Sean knows there is more to this woman than meets the eye. She dresses in plan office colors but has colorful shoes, only leads to his imagination of what is under those over dressed clothes to hide the woman beneath. Even though he must find out if she is truly helping her boss with terrorist affiliation or an innocent bystander is his mission. Sean is a Dom and has yet to find a true sub that fits him and he knows that this woman is a natural sub. As they explore the passion and the beginning of a Dom/Sub relationship, they find a incredible love connection and will learn the value of trust in a relationship, and it could cost them their lives…

The Hero

Sean Taggert, is a dangerous and powerful man. He gets the job done that is needed and is completely loyal to his brother. He will do anything that Ian asks of him. Sean is cunning and knows how to do what needs to be done no matter the cost and he is dang good at it. But he soon gets his boundaries testsed when he stumbles upon a woman that holds his heart. Sean is a dominant male that will make you tingle in all the right places. He is intelligent, cunning, but is looking for more than just a sub. He wants a partner in life, a woman that can be submissive in the bedroom but is his equal in every way. I liked that about him, especially when some of the other Doms that he deals with including his brother, sees a sub as a slave in every aspect. He wanted way more than that and that just got to me. Even though he could be an ass sometimes, overall his character was sexy and empowering.

The Heroine

Grace, is a mother of two boys, a widow who lost her husband. She has lived her life vanilla sex and reads BDSM romances, even though its a fantasy of hers she doesn’t know if she wants what she craves in the books that she reads. She works as a admin assistant and it pays the bills and she is fine with that. Grace is shocked when she finds a man who is younger than she is pursuing her. She knows what he can bring her….fantasy to reality. Grace is forty years old and think that Sean is way too young for her. I really liked Grace, she isn’t your typical submissive either. She can be submissive when she wants to be, but her personality is fiery hot when you get her dander up. And boy does she have a temper, I just wanted to cheer her on when she does. I loved her spirit and strength.

Plot and Story Line

I have been nervous over reading this series, but after reading a couple of reviews from Rowena over at BookBinge Many who follow and read my reviews, know that BDSM romance is not my favorite thing in the world to read. But with this book being FREE at Amazon. I decided to try it out and boy am I so thrilled that I took a chance on this author because I fell pretty quickly into this world that Lexi Blake creates. In The Dom Who Loved Me we have a story that involves mystery, suspense, and some spicy romance and I did like that it had other elements beside the romance, it just balanced it all out. It does involve a bit of a May/December Romance which may not be for everyone. However its not like the hero is 19 folks. He is only eight years younger than the heroine, so its not a huge span of years. (For me, my grandparents were 15 years apart, so 8 isn’t a huge stretch) I did like the way our hero views having a submissive though. He wanted a true partner that he could met every need to not just sexually. And he is such a sweet Dom at times, he can be a hard ass true, its his natures, but I love how tender and patient he is with Grace. And boy did I like that, it had a refreshing feel to it. Although I have to say that his brother Ian….I hope his story he meets his match because he truly needs to step down a peg….he was such an ass like honestly I wanted to punch him. Then we have the Twins. Adam and Jake (whose book is next) were so funny, they pose as a gay couple even though they aren’t. So they had some fun moments, I especially loved Adam, he is so playful and always trying to make Sean jealous and Grace has no idea why because she thinks Adam is gay so it causes quite a fun dynamic to the story. The events that played out were just perfect, and what really got to me is the strength we see Grace have. She doesn’t fall under pressure, and we see what she is willing to do in the end and yeah the boys get their “tales tucked between their legs” for their actions and all due to Grace.

The first time you tell me what to do outside the bedroom, I’ll probably take a skillet to your head.

I truly had a fun time with this book and I can’t wait for book two. So if you are intrigued grab this book up, currently it is FREE, so why not take the chance you might fall in love?

Love me, protect me, take me.

The Cover

I honestly have no complaints with this cover….I do love seeing some good ab action here!!

Great review. I loved the hero and heroine as individuals but had a hard time connecting with as a couple. Loved the suspense and the secondary couples. Omg Adam and Jake were a hoot. I really need to give this series another go.

I’ve tried a few BDSM books, but most of the time they don’t work for me unfortunately. I’m glad you found one that you enjoy though. It sounds like it has a lot of great things going on for it.
    Great review! 🙂

Aw yay! I’m glad you gave her a go. I enjoyed this one, too! I read her books with Shayla Black mainly but dabble with her loan titles, too.
