About The Book

From the author of the Capital Confessions Novels comes the first in the steamy Wild Aces Romance series.

U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Noah Miller—call sign Burn—loves nothing more than flying hard and fast. When he meets a gorgeous and sassy woman while partying in Las Vegas, he immediately locks on to her.

Jordan Callahan owns a thriving clothing boutique, but her love life is far less successful. Her luck changes when six feet, two inches of sexy swagger asks her to dance and turns her world upside down.

One scorching weekend becomes an undeniable chemistry that they can’t leave in Vegas. But the long distance relationship and their different lives threaten to ground their romance. And when the dangers of Noah’s job become all too real, Jordan learns being with a fighter pilot means risking it all for a shot at love…

This was the kind of girl that if you were smart, and played your cards right, you changed your life for.

My Review

First Impressions

Fly With Me is the first book in the Wild Aces series and I absolutely had a blast with this book. This was also my first Chanel Cleeton and I was charmed by this book. This is the series that drew me first to this author and I have had this series on my wishlist for years, especially since book three was released. It was everywhere and so many were loving that one, especially around the blogosphere. So I have been meaning to get around to it, but honestly, just kept forgetting about it. But then I saw that this first book was available at my local library app through Libby and I instantly grabbed it and I started to read it right away and I was so drawn into the story immediately. This is a story I would term as a military contemporary romance. It’s not romantic suspense or anything, just a military hero finding love in a long-distance relationship that starts off as a fling. There was a sense of realism to this story and I felt a connection to their pair and seeing them work through towards their HEA. I really feel like those that have been in a relationship or married to a military man, will relate strongly to this story.

We flew because we fucking loved it. So I guessed I already had a wife, and she was an expensive, unforgiving bitch— Fortysomething million dollars of alloy, fuel, and lube that could fuck you over at any given time and felt so good when you were inside her that she always kept you coming back for more.

Summary

Jordan Callahan run a clothing boutique, but during a bachelorette party in Las Vegas, she never expects to run into cocky fighter pilot Noah Miller who will change her life in ways she doesn’t expect. U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Noah Miller, is drawn to Jordan at a party while with his boys, and knows that he will be spending the weekend and more if he can with this sexy charming woman. At first, Jordan and Noah take a short time and take advantage of the attraction that they have for each other, but then realize that a fling is not enough for them, that there is much more happening between them than just the sexual chemistry and they want to try for more even knowing that it will be a long-distance relationship that they will be having to deal with. But the way that their lives are running in different directions proves to really push the limits of their relationship, and they both have to work at making the distance work for their relationship and allowing for the difference in careers in their lives to find a balance in the love that they are building with each other. But for Jordan, her love for Noah is new and fresh, but will be tested in ways she doesn’t expect, and that her strength will be what Noah will need more than anything she could have imagined…

I didn’t want a caveman, but I wanted a man who knew who he was, and wasn’t afraid to be it.

What I Loved

This book…..BROKE MY HEART!! I had no idea that this would have my emotions all over the place and it really meant something special to me as I have a soft spot for military romance. Normally I don’t do the fling trope, it just doesn’t always seem to quite work for me always but in this one, it really tended to work so well. I think much of that was due to the fact that there is so much more to their connection than sex in the beginning, I really enjoyed the built-up of the emotional bond that seems to grow with their sexual chemistry. You can see how much individually they really care for each other, and seeing them willing to take on a long-distance relationship was so interesting but had a sense of realism to it. There is plenty of humor in this book and I adored seeing the bond of friendship that the male pilots have with each other, and if you are fans of “Top Gun” there are LOTS of movie references, and interesting how I read this the book the new movie came out (pure coincidence I tell ya) I really was charmed by the heroine who was willing to explore what she had with Noah even knowing the rough road ahead of her. I really respected her spunk and courage to go forward and give what Noah needed. I really felt like the level of emotion was well played out and felt like it was well balanced with the story. But I would warn readers of the ending that is entailed in this book, its very heartbreaking (SPoiler:……involves the death of one of the friends so be aware of that going into it if that is something that may trigger you) We really see how Jordan gets a realistic view of what being with a military man is like the risks of being with him, and how he will depend on her to be the strength in the relationship and seeing how her love for him is so fierce and deep that she is willing to do whatever it takes to fight for him just was breathtaking! And it’s moments like this that remind me why romance is MY genre.

I’m sorry my hands are tied. I’m sorry being with me means giving up everything. I’m sorry I’m in the military. I’m sorry I can’t put you first. I’m sorry you deserve better than what I can give you. I’m sorry I’m too selfish to let you go.

Still, there are two kinds of military wives. The ones who lean on their men, and the ones who are strong enough to give their men somewhere to lean when they come home after a six-month deployment that has beaten them down

What I Struggled With

There wasn’t much, I think what kept this from a five-star read for me was the pacing, and maybe my mood was off. Because I was really into it at first, but I got distractions and then the pacing was a little off for me but the last 1/3 I literally couldn’t put down!!

Overall View

I found Fly With Me to be a stimulating romance that rocked my core of brilliant humor, deep relatable emotion, and connections that fed my romantic heart and this author stunned me with this book and you can bet I will be reading the next installment shortly….

I didn’t care. I was in. All in. When it was love, capital letters, can’t-live-without-you love, there wasn’t much of a choice. We were forever, for however long forever lasted.

I read this book years ago, but remember the pain and heartbreak I felt. Book 3 revisits that pain too. So glad you enjoyed the book. It’s such a great series.
